Minecraft Bedrock and Minecraft Pocket Edition is one version. The Pocket Edition is for phones and the Bedrock Edition is for all other platforms but mostly for phones. Bedrock Edition is the name used to avoid positioning Bedrock as a phone-only game. This is a marketing Move.

@@Planetmango48 they updated yes in the betas only buttons, trapdoors, wooden or iron doors and fence gates, minus the sounds of entering and leaving the water and the fishing rod and others too because if you are going to notice almost everything java is different type the mechanic of the mobs looking at you while they walk in java, something that doesn't have in bedrock, if mojang wants to one day make mcpe and minecraft bedrock equal java it will be very difficult not to leave anything blank

For anyone who is wondering why he seperated bedrock and pe is because pe is version of minecraft in mobile which later got changed into bedrock edition so he reffered pe as bedrock in mobile

Old pocket edition version used to be unique, and not the bedrock edition. If you played before version 1.0.0, you’ll notice the difference

years ago that the "pocket edition" joined the bedrock edition, the pocket edition no longer exists

Pocket didn't join bedrock. Pocket *is* Bedrock. All the other consoles just got a port of Pocket Edition that replaces Legacy Edition and then they renamed it to just "Minecraft" for Marketing. Pocket on the other hand just got a regular update. That's why when the Better Together update occured you have to transfer your files in the Console Versions but on PE you just play right away, that's because it's just a regular update for pocket.
As for Windows 10 Edition, it's just a port of Pocket Edition too. Except back then they still wanted to differentiate it from Java which was just called Minecraft at the time so they called it "Windows 10 Edition Beta".

pe is an old and mobile version of bedrock. bedrock doesn't exist back then pc is called windows 10 edition and mobile is called pocket edition or pe. but later became bedrock. all platforms is available in bedrock including pc mobile controller etc. mojang takes the w for the better together update.

1.bedrock and pocket edition are literally the same thing, They dont sound different. In this video, the only reason they appear to sound different is because recording sounds different on phones or other mobile devices.
