    the biggest issue with bedrock is that it's really flashy and it's got all those neat visual features, but it's missing some crucial features, like the ability to use your off-hand for things other than a shield.
    this comment has been plaguing me for a year so i need to clarify: it's not about the shield specifically. that was an example.

      @@itzminebro2413 Did you forget that bedrock is cross platform and not just for mobile? (Although there are still a few classic pocket edition leftovers, such as the old stonecutter and the nether reactor core)
      You just go into the inventory and put the shield in the offhand slot

      Personally I find off-hand feature really clunky and poorly implemented. I prefer Bedrock's approach to shields.

    • @extremecube
      @extremecube ปีที่แล้ว +79

      @@iminumst7827 bedrock shields are way too overpowered though, because when you hit them, you go flying up in the air and oftentimes take a lot of fall damage. And I usually can’t even play bedrock anyways, because it is so buggy that it usually says “unable to connect to world” even if I am going into my own world.

    Number 52. In Bedrock, If you have a lead and a boat, you can actually lead the boat and drag it around like a mob but when you try to do it in Java, nothing will happen. Once while in a server with a group, I sectioned off a spot to *make* my own beach in our little community and really wanted a turtle, but i didn’t understand how you need silk touch and a pickaxe for the eggs. So I shoved a turtle onto a boat and then dug through a mountain and made a river and then trapped it in a sand wall on my beach, rinse and repeat with a second turtle, only to find out after that they won’t lay eggs on a foreign beach and all they did was try to escape. At first I was confused and annoyed but then I felt like a monster

    I recently went from being a console only player to playing on a java server with some friends. There are some things I can't do anymore which are annoying, like jumping out of boats or minecarts and stopping the elytra flight for a quick landing, but there are some new features which do feel pretty neat! I love the combat and I'm quite fond of offhand tool use! Overall I'm probably gonna stick to bedrock when I play solo, half because of the features and half because of the hand cramps.

    as a java player, there's a lot of bedrock exclusive stylistic stuff that i want SO badly, like the aforementioned posable/namable armor stands, dye-able armor via cauldron, the 3d fishing rod, the shipwreck variants, some of the different animations (like the guardian jumpscare), etc...
    the reason why those remain not implemented is beyond me, those seem like fairly simple additions that wouldn't mess with the deeper, more important mechanics to veterans, like java's redstone.

    Java needs Bedrock's armor stands, pistons, sheep color, skin transparency, character blinking, barrels, jockeys, baby animals, pane 3D icons, dancing shoulder parrots, map cost, dyed water, lighting objects with your body, salmon, giant rabbit, page count, Ravager destruction, path block, rail pathing, feeding particles, redstone delay, boat types, bobber, dispenser tridents, and water color.
    Bedrock needs Java's strongholds, arrow sticking, banners, sand blocks, arrow spread, Illagers, furnace and enchanting table durability, horse age, void, mining fatigue, piston xray, hardcore, sword cooldown, boat turtles, mob head disguises, cooking fuels, steak name, Wither traits, and mob head dispensing.
    Desert wells, jump cancelling, attack spamming, Giant, and TNT duping don't really matter either way.
