yo great vid. Brian mentioned in the Downbeat Podcast that he lost a childhood friend to a drunk driver and i think alot of the lyric focus around the grief around that. also pretty much all of "A tear in the fabric of time" is about that
We saw them live almost a week ago. It was insane. They've refined their live sound so much. I heard later that there was a mosh pit on the upper balcony at the venue, which is kind of hilarious because it's basically just seats lol. "I never gave a fuck." Followed by the crunchy riff in Don't Reach for Me gets me every time. It's probably my favorite song and Blinding Faith. I think I recall in an interview with Isaac that they're like, layering the guitars in a way to create that "hell tone" they call it. It's so cool what we can do with technology now. I love this album so much. I want to see them live again. Also they're undeniably influenced a bit by Gojira. The pick scrapes, that outro of Sit and Mourn and the outro of The Calm that Keeps me Awake (Explosia like)
I love the idea of a mosh pit in the top of the venue hahaa that's just how hardcore they are. Also I feel the same about way but about that 3:4 poly rhythm riff in Blinding Faith, absolutley makes me want to me mosh
had to comment after you said "i wanna see this shit live" I saw them last week of May and holy shit was it awesome. brought my cousin who had never been to a concert before... lol he said it was the best time he's ever had. the entire place was a mosh pit. gotta love Bryan man
i'm IN LOVE with how the "dark" catches the lyricist at the end of the song in the middle of the "take me home" and then it's just the oppressive sounds of the guitar as if "dark" surrounds him cinematographic masterpiece
a lot of Bryan's earlier stuff with knocked loose touches on the overdose he had at a party and how that impacted him and im just guessing but i imagine that could be what hes alluding too with take me home
30:33 other favorite songs of mine that use that beat are "YDG" - Of Mice and Men & "Echoes" - Tides of Man. Idk what it is about that beat but its so FUCKIN hype
On the lyrics. I have heard this album around 100 times now, I still only know the easier to understand lyrics😅. So basically a word here or there. But I feel like I could play the drum parts by now 😁. In the past, lyrics were the most important part for me. Nowadays I don´t even bother to read them anymore. The vocals are just like another instrument and I also don´t question which notes the guitarists and bassist are playing.
Sometimes I hyper fixate on different instruments. Since I'm a drummer and Vocalist I'm inclined to pay attention to those, and I like learning lyrics just to sing/scream along but I get what you're saying haha
@Reaper_Queen_Music yeah, I try to play the drums as well, but not very long as of yet. That is probably why I focus on them a lot, too. But I just noticed I should have added that I understand the drummer of Knocked Loose, not knowing the lyrics 😁.
"Are those thermostats" I think those might be holy water stoups lol Congrats on the algorithm smiling at you, I like your vibes, would like to see more music reviews from you
@@NexusSomnia hopefully a new album from Spiritbox and Motionless In White. Also, Paleface Swiss has been dropping singles for a while but their last album was in 2022 so hopefully something new from them.
th-cam.com/video/9vb9_A8_HZo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=p7ufo5wJExFe_8co Chaotic, and then the end is a sermon clip. Amazing band and im so mad i missed their farewell tour
@@Reaper_Queen_Music you won’t regret it. Reply what you think when you do! It’s like everything great about 2000s metalcore with hard hitting lyrics and some of the hardest breakdown callouts ever
This whole record is phenomenal but sit and mourn by god. Fuck it. this whole album not a skippable song. First listen I thought I liked laugh tracks more. No, this album takes Laugh tracks lunch money.
I used to work with women from mexico, the dominican republic, and colobmia. They played music with this beat (1 a 2 +) and they described it to me a reggaeton.
@Reaper_Queen_Music Oh, no worries. I just think it's because the mixing on this record makes every song sound similar. Outside of the singles, sit and mourn is the only stand-out track. A Different Shade of Blue and A Tear in the fabric of life had amazing atmosphere and memorable riffs. If you listen to those records in full then hear the new one, it feels like they spent more time on the older songs. I think they went a little too experimental for my taste on this newer record. I also feel like they tried too hard to go viral rather than write a cohesive front to back album if that makes sense? I was kinda hoping their new release was more in line with the "upon loss" singles as well. Those 2 songs are better than their whole new album. Regardless, its doing great numbers, so I'm happy for them.
@@Whopperwhopper420 I can see what you’re saying. I loved the upon loss singles so I was very hype to get new music but I haven’t been drawn back to any songs in particular like I did with those releases.
[Outro]
"Why'd you leave?"
"I feel like I'vе failed."
It's "So it felt like I failed?"
The St. Anger snare coming back around full circle in the best way is one of my favorite things ever
It's so much better than St. Anger's snare though.
Max from Tallah been using a similar snare for the last 2 albums. Fits this style of hardcore/metalcore so well
@Joose it is but st anger is still a wicked snare
yo great vid. Brian mentioned in the Downbeat Podcast that he lost a childhood friend to a drunk driver and i think alot of the lyric focus around the grief around that. also pretty much all of "A tear in the fabric of time" is about that
Tear in the fabric of life is about exactly what happens in the animated video
Thanks!! I figured there had to have been a loss, very sad :/
Sit & Mourn and Take Me Home are my 2 favorites on this album... but the whole album is a masterpiece in my opinion.
YES.
The fake out blue balls ending breakdown in sit and mourn… Jesus H Christ phenomenal.
Lord knows that got my ass hahaha
Big saaaame
The vocal delivery on take me home is absolutely epic
yeah that riff in Slaughterhouse 2 with Bryan’s vocals matching the run is incredible

cinematographic masterpiece
Take me home is a song didn't really catch my attention at first but you're so right. It really is amazing.
a lot of Bryan's earlier stuff with knocked loose touches on the overdose he had at a party and how that impacted him and im just guessing but i imagine that could be what hes alluding too with take me home

Any sort of 'gallop' beat like that gets me going hahaha
This record is really good and your reaction was awesome keep up the great work and that’s cool you got to meet zelli
Thank you so much! It was crazy meeting him, just on the side of the road haha
Poppy's joining Knocked Loose right? Right? RIGHT!?
Pleaseeee 😭
26:21 because it is! Brain talked about that in an interview
Amazing hahaha
Knocked Loose goes absolutely crazy live
I saw them at Blue Ridge '22 and '23 both times they killed it
i don't think i've ever gone to a concert not anxious so i get it
Glad I'm not alone 🥲For me I think part of it is always wanting to get up close to the stage.
I loooove the calm but heavy mix in the outro
I first heard it on their closure "permanent" for the "a tear in the fabric of life " Ep ,its so sick 🤘🏻
Sit and mourn is such a fuckin banger🔥
Saw them live two weeks ago with Slipknot. They played this song holy shit i was so fucking hyped ! 🔥🔥🔥
Jelous! I haven't seen them since BRRF '23...

"I feel like i've failed"
The ending to “The Calm That Keeps You Awake” is surprisingly what I listen to fall asleep 😴😤
Love a good chug-mantra.
Might be one of my favorite parts of the album tbh
This "woh" before the outro 😂
"Are those thermostats"
I think those might be holy water stoups lol

I get super anxious on show days, especially for bands I absolutely love. It’s been that way ever since I can remember
So glad I'm not alone hahaha
Seen them with the garden, drain and militarie gun a few days ago and it killed🤘🏻
Also the end of Take me home makes me think specifically of The Chariot, and its well earned
The Chariot?

@@Reaper_Queen_Musicalso check out Norma Jean - Bless The Martyr and Kiss the Child. The vocalist went on to form The Chariot which are also awesome
I can’t get enough of watching people react to this album. The two punch combo of take me home & slaughterhouse 2 is NASTY.
It's just SO GOOD
The witcher books in the background tho
This is my album of the decade so far
album of the year with kamasi new album
I haven't heard of kamasi, I'll check them out
Yeah, this is album of the year… easy👌🏼 Lyrics and tone is fantastic!
new boundaries album got it beat IMO
I'll have to give that a listen :)

You mean Ghostface from Scream?

Lol
DEMBOW beat ! not rgton

Their weakest release yet. In my opinion.
I think so too honestly, something doesn't stick as well. That split EP is peak though
