"Fucking makes it" is so heartwarming because someone who is so well versed in theory just hearing a nasty chug riff appreciating it is awesome. Thank you ❤
“Fucking makes it” in reference to the little snare bits…. Fucking makes this video for me as a drummer. Nice one dude. Would love to see more reviews of bands past/present in this realm
I've been watching this channel for years, and have found countless new country artists because of it. But seeing you do a react to my favorite heavy band is a dream come true. You're amazing Michael, thank you!
So much mad reapect for how you can be just as excited for music like this as you can be for Umphrey's, and Medium Build. Truly it means so much to me as such a pollyjammerous type of person. You are seen, and appreciated.
Awesome that you enjoy this, the best videos are mars Volta and stuff like this outside your normal wheelhouse. Also tuning down would help learn the songs my guy haha but enjoyed this thanks!
Came here for Polyphia. Stayed for the Kendrick. Will continue to stay for the Knocked Loose. I love that you have fun with all of these different genres and styles of music, while also always adding some great insight! FYI: Hard to see it in this section of the show, but the low screams are from the guitarist closest to the camera.
This is single handely the best youtube channel now! You help me learn guitar and all the jam band music and now I find out you enjoy my favorite hardcore band! 🤌🤌🤌
I've seen them live twice in two different states. They sound exactly like this live. It's unreal. I didn't care for them until I saw them live. it kinda just clicked for me when they opened with where the light divides the holler.
I’ve seen them twice and I can tell you it is ABSOLUTELY that clean live. I’m sure it depends on the venue. But I was absolutely blown away at how clear the guitars sounded knowing how low they tune. I would definitely recommend seeing them if you ever get a chance.
Lead guitarist is the low growl/scream range. He's incredible. There are other live shows that show the clarity in their tone. One specifically in NY recently, if I remember right. Unreal sound!
Been going to metal concerts for 20 years not only does it sound better live you can literally feel it in your chest. Especially a hardcore concert in a smaller venue like that. Nothing matches it
From someone that was lucky enough to get a ticket to this small ass show (shit sold out in like 30 seconds) I can tell you it sounded just like this in the room. And the other 5 times I’ve seen them they sounded like this too, they’re just an amazing live band
I can confirm that is how they sound live. On my channel I also filmed/mixed a show they played in my town and can confirm there is fiddling around, they are just DIALED, and the show I filmed was before they went to in-ears which is a statement on how hard they work to develop this live presence. I've seen a lot of bands in my life, and they are seriously one of very few bands that genuinely make me feel uneasy live, like the presense of these songs feel scary in this odd way.
I love how often I get reminded how much I truly appreciate the fact that you actually know music theory. Sooo many TH-cam guitarists have a natural ear but the vast majority don’t know at all how to explain how they mathematically know what’s happening. They’re pretty much just like “I know this is how it’s played and it’s just muscle memory to me.”
Michael you have to check out Martin Sexton. Strongest solo-artist in the world right now and I don't say that lightly. "Glory Bound", "Black Sheep", and "Hallelujah" are great places to start!
Knocked Loose is definitely all in on the heavy. I can speak to the clarity though... I can confirm that they do sound that clean live. They have extremely nerdy sound guys that are clearly living out their dream jobs, and the band members themselves are no different. They don't party (all of them are sober except one of them) so they are really on point as far as their live performances.
Saw Knocked Loose live around 2 years ago and was mind blown how they sounded exectly like the recording. Best show of my life. My cousin who is on the same record label as them told us they use a device to copy what they used to record the tracks in the studio to their amps on stage. Im not edjucated enough to tell you what or how, but thats the word.
I went to the show expecting it to be sick already. But I was legitimately jaw dropped when I heard how good they sounded. The guitar tone sounded SO articulate and clear.
It's called a Kemper! Basically a digital guitar amp that can clone real tube (and other solid states) amps and pedals exactly. Allows them to record with "real" gear and then just upload the whole rig into one easy patch on the Kemper, which they then use as their amp for live shows.
I was not expecting much from this video. Typical guitar teacher dude with a standard tuned PRS. Really amazed by how well you picked this song apart. Heavy and low is not everyone’s cup of tea and like you said it can be very difficult to pick apart what’s actually happening but I actually really enjoyed your take on this song. You’re a great guitar player and have an amazing ear. Subscribed and looking forward to more, cheers 🍻
I saw them live in NYC in May and as an Audio Engineer, Mixer, and Producer I was blown away by the clarity of their sound. Heavy and huge but still clean and clear the killed it. Most fun ive had at a show in years. I felt like a kid lmao
Lead guitarist (shaved head) does the low background vocals, and the rhythm guitarist (long black hair) does some mid background vocals as well on the newer songs
Should really check out the new Murder8 guitar playthrough from Bodysnatcher. The guitar tone is evil Also your commentary at 4:25 is how I like my ladies........
as someone who has seen them live, they sounded really really good. to be fair i was moshing more than focusing on the specific notes. although, as somone who is familiar with their songs, i can say they hit all the important parts perfect. i had so much fun at that show
I come from hardcore and I watch these videos to broaden my playing. Also this is 100% not doctored its an art playing low with clarity and the way knocked loose does it is unique because they are a hardcore band. Hardcore bands don't usually go below c standard and they plat in a standard/ drop f and g# it's not easy!
I always thought it was insane how he screams at the top of his lungs, like totally bloodcurdling in a way that sounds like it'd be tearing his vocal chords to absolute shreds. But now I guess I understand how he's able to survive as a touring vocalist, because his sound is completely different on this live recording! He has a totally different technique and isn't yelling at the top of his lungs anymore. I gotta say I don't really like the way he sounds live... But the band sounds really tightly locked in to the grooves.
Their new album made me a fan finally. They are playing 8 strings. The guitar player closest to the camera who is out of frame does back up low growls.
Trying to Play knocked loose in standard is just crazy to see it’ll never make a skinny 5’2 teenager want to obliterate some 6’7 swol goliaths nose without a regret
Micheal I was hoping to talk to you privately but I guess it doesn’t matter they never asked me to sign any NDAs so it is ok it’s the truth I guess so they can’t complain I wrote a few tracks for my idol mr van Morrison some years after working with jsson Isbell & p!nk I ever got to work and write a little with John Prine and Leonard cohen what I did if anything for latter two may they rest in peace …,I wrote several tracks on 4 chords and the truth and latest record project one “ dupers delight” was about someone who I’d been intimate with who is in the music industry , no secrets there…. Anyway I love writing but it’s a buisness but I do write because it’s an outlet for my creative energy and for the love of creating music it’s not hugely profitable but it’s okay I’m blessed
"Fucking makes it" is so heartwarming because someone who is so well versed in theory just hearing a nasty chug riff appreciating it is awesome. Thank you ❤
Most times it’s the simplest that hits the hardest. Metal is the supreme genre, so broad if you are willing to explore
Michael being a Knocked Loose enjoyer is wonderful.
Yessssssssss thanks for taking my pick bro. Appreciate you and all you do.
“Fucking makes it” in reference to the little snare bits…. Fucking makes this video for me as a drummer. Nice one dude. Would love to see more reviews of bands past/present in this realm
Best part of the video it's like hearing a college professor curse in front of you and not expecting it😂😂😂

10 year old song let it go

Surgical attention to detail - love it
I've seen them live earlier this year. Their live sound is the same as the sound on the albums. It was amazing.
Awesome that you enjoy this, the best videos are mars Volta and stuff like this outside your normal wheelhouse. Also tuning down would help learn the songs my guy haha but enjoyed this thanks!
First time I was introduced to KL was live opening for Motionless in White. I was ill prepared for that high-pitched voice.
I saw the 6 string PRS and I was like "this guys aint ready". Turns out he was.
You should definitely check out Deep in the willow/Everything is quite now
wait until Michael hears that reggaeton beat they put in the breakdown of Suffocate
Came here for Polyphia.

Ernest Knocked Loose
Charles Crockett! Charles Crockett!
nope
Hey that’s my video lol
You do great work man love watching your sets
A true musician can appreciate all music. Fucking well done and a great perspective on this!
absolutely agree with you
knocked loose is the PHATNESS. TIME FOR A 7 STRING MIKE!
Mike has to get a PRS Mark Holcomb SVN now lol
You can play basically all of their music on a 6 string with no issues, though. It's just A standard with one string tuned a half step higher.
@@crewd00d totally.
@@crewd00d very true. It would just be fun to see him use a 7
Not at all what I expected from this channel, but I'm super stoked to see it! Knocked Loose is absolutely killing it!
Surprised to see you doing hardcore but clicked as soon as I saw this lol
deadass same, haha was shocked as hell to see this. clicked asap

Yooo!! Picking up that triplet ghosts on the snare is sooo sick!!! “F*ckin makes it!” 😂😂😂 you’re the man!

Yup, I can testify, they sound great live! They must have a wizard on hand, or technology is just so much improved from 15 years ago!
they switched to using amp sims a few years ago, so the tones are literally 1:1 with the recordings
@@moistboy64so sick
You should check out Mike Stringers guitar play through of the song Jaded by Spiritbox he is a great guitar player
Lead guitarist is the low growl/scream range. He's incredible. There are other live shows that show the clarity in their tone. One specifically in NY recently, if I remember right. Unreal sound!
Even Nicko Calderon on rhythm guitar has some sick hardcore yells on their newer singles!
okay, how many PRS guitars do u own
Their new album is some of the best material in this genre at the moment. It’s blistering and powerful. I love it.

The other voice is Isaac he is the guitarist with the shaved head. He does alot of the low gutturals for them!
The low growls were coming from the lead guitar player who was off camera. He's the bald guy on the right.
Love your videos man, and would LOVE to see you bust out a 7 string and throw down a full cover of this
They tune to A standard for his song.
ADGCFAD. Essentially its a 7 string tuned a whole step down.
Knocked Loose are spectacular. Its kinda not fair how good they are.
This is not the cross over I expected lol keep it up Michael, you’re doing the guitar a great service with this channel. Much love, brother
So glad to see you come back to a knocked loose track really enjoyed the last time you did it as well

Dude it is that clean in the room. Especially if u have good quality ear plugs because it’s also the loudest f*cking show you’ve ever seen.
If you liked this song, then you have to react to Shadow Moses by Bring Me The Horizon!!! - Love your work man!
I've tried so many times to understand what Knocked Loose is about, and I just can't.
Their new album made me a fan finally. They are playing 8 strings. The guitar player closest to the camera who is out of frame does back up low growls.
Getting the groove and such clean sounding bends on an extended baratone guitar with light poles for strings is impressive. Awesome video!!

Idk man my husbands 50 and been in three local bands. He says there’s no groove. It’s just dropped Loud noise.
I loved the Sabbath comparison. The music is heavier but the ghost is alive and well in heavy music these days.
More metal please!!! Check out the number twelve looks like you. Anything by them please
i laughed when i heard the solo bass break. pretty sure they got that from kublai khan tx. correct me if i'm wrong.
knocked loose has officially gotten too big

If you react to Sammy Rae and the Friends you won't be disappointed I promise
I'm glad I found you Michael 🎸🌟
I think that movement in the bass gives a kinda” modern swamp”and i know that sounds cray but that how i hear it
Michael i think there is an impostor sending requests via telegram as you
The blue finish on that PRS is gorgeous
Off topic but someone gotta show this man animals as leaders lol
But can anyone tell me a single word the “singer” sang? Just curious.
You should react to Legion by Tesseract!!!!!
That clarity, precision and cleanness is what separates these guys from all the others in this genre. Go see them live, it’s unreal.
Also, two of those guys are in Weapon X!
Deep vocals are the guitar player. Can’t see him most the time.
Knocked Loose know how to keep a song going. They dont rest on a section for too long for you to have a rest. They are relentless!
should check out some more off their new album that just came out!
Was at that show and they were amazing. Show was wild 🤘🏼
shoutout to @197Media for the KL video!

The singer sounds like someone’s nan mad they won’t get in the house.
the other vocals are coming from the other guitarists
FINALLY MICHAEL! WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE!
YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO PIECE BY PIECE THE GROOVES ARE INSANE
Sorry but this sounds like crap bahahaha
That other voice is Isaac. The guitar player
Would love for you to get a Mark Holcombe PRS 7 string and do a video of you trying to play this kind of stuff!
I have that guitar and it's amazing. I feel like satin necks should be the standard now.
