This will be a great vocabulary building opportunity for you. There will be a story for every vocabulary you learn, so it will help you memorize Korean words even better. This lesson is for all levels: beginner / intermediate / advanced Korean learners. It suits people who don’t know Korean alphabet and want to learn Korean alphabet from the beginning, and it will help advanced Korean learners who want to get help with the vocabulary. Korean Unnie will receive lessons during the live Korean class session as well so you can prepare your own questions for the live Korean class. Livestreamed every Wednesday 11AM KST.

I actually like the Korean order way more. I've always thought our address system is "upside down", cause I usually read the country and city first, so I know where the package is coming from. Then, I read the rest. So I usually have to go from bottom to top, but the Korean way solves that! ;) love it
actually, I think it makes way more sense to start the address by the largest entity. If I give an address in english, let's say, the address you gave in this video, and I start with the street, and go from smallest to biggest entity, then people would be lost. If we start by saying "Ms. Sohyun Moon" Then I'm already lost because I don't know where Sohyun Moon is located XD If we start by saying "Republic of Korea" then you know where the next thing I'm going to say is located. Then I say "Seoul" and you know the next thing I'm going to say is located in Seoul. It's way easier to follow up XD at least for me, but I'm a bit dumb so that's probably my fault xD

I am watching after March 2020! Thank you for this video though, I needed to know how to write addresses to Korea from Canada because I work for an organization with international donors and I needed to send Koreans a thank you card, so this helped a LOT! Thanks so much
한국언니 감사합니다. 이 비디오 진짜 재미있는 봐요. In regards to other countries addresses, Russia also writes addresses starting with the most general and then becoming more specific on each line below.
Here in the Philippines, we also use the western way of writing the address. Room no. first then Country comes last. :)

Sorry so late watching, unnie! Had a BUSY Sunday! Very interesting! I've never thought about the addresses... just assumed they were all written the same way. So if we send packages to you from the USA, then we'd write then in the Western way, correct?

Unsure about the address system in China, but Japan does have the same system as Korea. I also agree with you on why the Eastern and Western systems are the way they are; the biggest reason is in fact because of the societal background, where Eastern societies focus on "the group" or put "others first". This is more than just an observation or opinion, as this is what a former Japanese language teacher of mine had lectured about.

I'm from India..And the order followed here is same as the one followed in western countries. That is first the house no. Colony name area city and then the country. ☺

Well here is my 2cents having bought stuff online in china during exchange (taobao ftw) and sending things to fellow 동동s
For SG address:
To: name
Unit number, Apt blk, street name, singapore then 6 digit postal code (Sxxxxxx)
China address:
Province/state, city, district, building name?, street name, apartment & unit number
Here is an example of the address i used while i was on exchange at sufe (yes i stayed at student hostel in school) ps: country is omitted here because it was domestic mailing
上海，上海市，杨浦区，上海财经大学，国定路777号，第7宿舍, xxx 号房 (200433)
But if i were to write in english (for my friends to mail me stuff) it will be reversed? Kind of? Like this:
Room xxx, Blk 7, no.777 Guoding road, shanghai university of finance and economics, yangpu district, Shanghai, P.R.China (200433)
For foreign address that I sent Milo to, they are written usually in this format:
Street name, city, state, country (postal code) or
Street name, town, county, country (postal code)
Not very sure about other countries because SG address are super short so everyone's else addresses are long to me
