    How do we know when to use the dictionary form or conjugate it into a specific tense when using an adjective in the second way? Ex: When to use 작다 vs 작아요. Maybe I'm overthinking...

      This is my question also!

    • @Eliana-fw7ys
      @Eliana-fw7ys 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think maybe the dictionary form is more formal? Like you use 입니다 sometimes instead of 예요. But it's just a guess I really have no idea.

    • @byunTAEuP
      @byunTAEuP 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@rheannonf4347 I've got an answer! The dictionary form is typically used for generalized audiences such as newspapers, reports, textbooks. Dictionary form can also be used for personal entries such as notes and diary entries. Good luck with your studies!

    • @byunTAEuP
      @byunTAEuP 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Eliana-fw7ys Please read my reply below! There is a difference. ~ㅂ니다 is honorific, formal
      Dictionary verbs must end in 다
      Examples:

      싸다
      비싸다

    Noun then adjective just use the dictionary form

    I just think you should have mentioned that if we are using the adjective after the noun (conjugating it as a verb) it needs the particle 이 or 가. But I guess everyone here already knows that, right? :P

    Hi Korean Unnie! I love your videos and I was wondering if you could please make a video that has to do with small talk. I’ve been searching for videos and websites that may give a situation where you may meet a korean for the first time and want to have a conversation like how to get to know them and have small talk but I haven’t been successful. I would really like to know how to ask questions like, “How long have you lived in Korea?, Do you visit Korea every once in a while?, Do you have family back in Korea?, Are these your children/ Is this your child?, Do they go to school?, What grade are they in?, Do they have siblings?, Do you work?, What do you do for work?...etc. And also how I can answer some questions like how would I say, “I have graduated high school, I do not go to college, I am an only child, I do not have a job, I want to go to Korea someday, I can read and write in Korean but I’m not good at grammar and conversing in Korean yet, My parents do not know Korean, I’ve been teaching myself Korean by watching videos and reading textbooks.”...etc. I know some of it may seem like random questions but I would just like how to know how to say like those kind of things and just know basic questions to ask someone you’ve just met and how to give basic facts about yourself. If you could make a video on this i would greatly appreciate it!
