My girlfriend of three years died from a heart attack at the age of 24. She had lupus and was taking this drug. It killed her. The drug is effective at reducing symptoms, but it damaged her heart. Rest in peace, Allisson. I love you.
i’m sorry for your loss, i have lupus too and it is scary to know that a drug that’s trying to save you is also damaging you. i just know she was a very strong woman.

How long did it take you to get results? I’ve got a moon face from prednisone, i’m on about 40 mg right now so i’m not sure how that’ll effect the juice.

i have nephrotic syndrome and i’ve been on prednisone for almost 5 months, 40mg tapered to 20mg. i didn’t gain any weight ( thank god ) but i have moon face. it’s really depressing as i’m still 15 and i’m extremely sensitive about how i look ( even tho everyone has told me that my face looks prettier rn as i had an extremely skinny face before ). i decided to do facial exercises to help reduce facial fat. also a month from now i’ll probably taper down even more and then stop taking it eventually. i’m so excited. i’ve been so harsh on myself for the past months. yeah moon face and acne could make you feel horrible but it gets better eventually. stay strong and focus on your recovery
Did your moon face is gone or not ?
I am also taking 40 mg for 2 weeks and prednisone for 6 months , every time my protein levels rises when steroid is tappered below 20 mg can you help me in that ? Seriously appreciating your help !!!
@@amitchaprana9939 i’m taking prograf ( which is a medication that is a substitute for those with steroid resistant nephrotic syndrome ) i’m taking both medication together so it wouldn’t relapse with tapering i think

Thank you for making this video. I am on prednisone now and could not figure out why my head looks like a melon they gave me no warning that this could happen. I have changed my diet and started working out just haven't seen the results yet.

Im amazed at how many people in the comments are transplant patients 🤯 my husband is on dialysis and a list for transplant but that’s not promising at all ☹️ this is a life changing experience for us and just doesn’t seem normal ... there’s gotta be a way out of this 😕
I understand how you feel there should be a better way, and however, there is no best bet is transplant unless they start growing human organs in labs. And, Yes, I am post-transplant and with a moon face and an extra 30kilos around my midriff thanks to prednisone.
Antidepressants can also cause the dreaded moon face. I had to stop them because of this. I believe it’s caused by water retention.
Yes a lot of meds cause water retention unfortunately! Side effects😣
❤❤ thank u i have been using it for so long and people who don't understand it would talk about my hair gain. I would tell them i didnt eat it meds they didnt believe me. People be kind ❤the opposite part about it my hair look so beautiful😊

Hii I have been on prednisone since December started at 60mg and then tapering down and currently on 15mg. I am experiencing hair loss and I used to have extremely thick hair, Did you have this problem or how to deal with it ?

That’s how I was! Just eat healthy and take care of your hair. Find good shampoo as well to help strengthen it
My transplant physician recommended taking Biotin for hair loss and it Is working great!

I rlly hate what my face looks like. I only have the moon face on the right side of my face while my left side looks perfectly normal and now I'm asymmetrical because of prednisone. i really hope this works:)

i have warm autoimmune hemolytic anemia and the first time i had it i gained 30 pounds in 3 months because i was SUPER depressed and the doctors didnt tell me how much weight i could gain on it. i got diagnosed with it again yesterday, so this time around im gonna focus on making sure i dont binge eat and stay away from lots of sodium!!!

I was diagnosed with lymph node cancer (Hodgkin) back in summer and I had to take prednisone for 6 months (started at 125 mg, dropped to 75 mg) which made me gain about 25 pounds (lost 5 so far). I haven’t had prednisone in a month but my face is still bigger than it used to be, how much longer will it take for it to be normal again?

Hi, I am sorry it happened to you. I also have lymph node castleman disease. I took 100mg daily for almost 43 days regularly and I get this double heartbeats, shivering hands legs, blurred vision, improper hearing and this big moonface. Did you get those side effects as well, how you dealt with it? It will really help me if you can reply
@@simrankaur-lo4nv I didn’t get improper hearing or a blurred vision, but I did have shivering hands and moon face, my hands were and also are still cold pretty often, same goes for my feet, that side effect didn’t go away for me. The moon face will slowly fade away, and after like a month and a half it will most likely be fully gone. The shivering hands stopped as soon as I stopped taking the medicine. I wish you good fortune, and I don’t bother answering more of your questions.

I checked my weight now and I'm all in tears even though i know this is quite in the game.. I had prednisone for about an year and now I have stopped it but somehow the weight scale seems to be stuck.. 😭😭

For anyone looking for an answer for this, prednisone messed up my cycle badly too. It’s because it messes up your hormones. There’s not a lot studies on this.

Hi Cindy! I’ve took strong dose of prednisone back in March 2020 till around may 2020 but since then stopped. I had a really bad moon face but since then it had gotten a bit better. Prior taking prednisone I had a really structured face , will the moon face ever FULLY go away till where I can see my structure appear again?

No. It will take 6-1 year for it to go back to normal I’ve been off the meds for like almost 2 months in I still have it

That’s literally such a small dose it is near impossible to get the moon face side effect. That side effect comes from does 10 mg and above when used for over 4 weeks
