That amazing family is still going strong via the Carson Companies and Watson Land Company, the latter being one of the largest land holdings and management companies in California.
Marshall Stewart was a good friend of mine and have a signed copy of his book. I believe he would have liked having his book shared through this short video has he always wanted to tell people the history of his neighborhood.
It’s amazing if you look far into the distance where Torrance and Walteria area are you notice that there are a lot of oil wells I mean hundreds of them off in the distance. For all the people that constantly demonize oil if it wasn’t for oil Los Angeles in the Southbay would’ve never become what it is today
