This was only slightly over half a lap, a full lap is 37.73 miles, and takes 16.30 to 17.00 minutes to complete. As riders set off on their own at ten second intervals, they're really racing the clock rather than each other, so the first man to complete the 6 laps is not necessarily the winner. If you want to see a POV of the fastest ever lap from 2023, watch "Peter Hickman, Fastest Ever Lap."
And on Mad Sunday the public get to do it. OK in recent years they have put speed limits in some areas but the mountain section is still unrestricted.
