Guy Martin was one of the most humble and down to Earth men in existence. He kept his job as a truck mechanic to this day, despite being a holder of multiple world records and being really famous having been the star of many TV series'.

Helicopters aren't actually that fast. The world helicopter speed record is only about 250mph, and most of them are WAY slower than that. For example, a Eurocopter EC-135, which is a popular, modern 7-seater often used for this sort of thing, has a normal cruising speed of 158mph and a never-exceed speed of 178mph. A _street-legal_ GSX-R1000 motorbike has a top speed of 190mph and that's before you start modifiying it for racing. The current lap record for the TT is 136mph, and that's including all those 'slow' turns. The rider who set that record was doing just over 200mph on the straights.

He was off the bike more than on it, I can see why you'd quit with that many crashes
