  • UPbuild Revivals is the beginning of a new series. The object of this series is to take a car that is in need of some love or that would usually be headed to the scrap yard and to breathe life back into it, to get it back out there on the road for ourselves and others to enjoy again.
    To kickstart the new series we start with a little familiar motor, something no doubt most of us will have owned or spent time in at some point or another. Check out this video to find out what it is and to see it being brought back to life and transformed back to its former glory.
    UPbuild Revivals is a series where we will be sharing all aspects of the car restoration and revival processes involved. Mechanics, welding, fabrication, interior, bodywork, painting, general maintenance and more. Doing the best quality of work on a modest budget, sharing the tips and tricks to get the job done.
    So let’s crack on, we hope you enjoy the episode.
    Huge thank you for watching.

    Love the wheels.
    The guys at Hackshop Garage channel got me onto a game changer for me. Sit the cans in hot water for 4 or 5mins. Thins the paint, builds the pressure and goes on “almost” like a spray gun. Smoother finish.

    I’m glad that you emphasized the method of refurbishing the lights, I had no idea that skipping one of the ‘Grit’ would hurt the individual results.

    My sons fiesta’s gear stick is getting stiff and making a squeaking noise. It probably needs the same job doing to it. Thanks for the info- very informative and great to see dad and son working together. Keep it up lads. Dave.

    I polished the headlights on my mk6 and when I took the masking tape off afterwards it took some lacquer with it😢

  • @stevewoodw
    @stevewoodw ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice video, more dedicated than me, I only used 1200 and 2000 grit for clearing my headlights for the MOT. There was a digital caliper on the workbench - it looks like a Parkside from LIDL. I was thinking about the use of one for getting the gaps right between door and frame on a rebuild/restore - if there was an extension for the blades that would fit in the gap it would help give an accurate reading which would be useful for realignment. Can you adapt yours for this purpose? A slide on tip that could fit in the small gaps would work perhaps.

      I’m pleased you liked the video, thanks for commenting. I am self employed but I have a contract with a chain of shops and I transport their stock around the region. Nothing to do with cars but my whole family have always loved and worked on cars so I have just picked things up over the years.
