    After seeing this video, I just had to do the same with my pistol. It’s not an FNX but an SFX FDE Canik TP9. And wow what a difference the black made the gun look. It had the Beige Talon already and I thought I would never remove it because that’s how I bought it. Good thing I did because I remove the back strap and added the other one and maaaaaaaaan, it made a huge difference. Wow what an experience. So thank you on that walk through…it kind’a feels like I have a new gun.

    I'd love to hear some feedback on how well the Talon grips stick after time. It seems like the small pyramids which form the texture don't give much surface area to adhere to. Any thoughts?

    I fucking love this pistol. The engineers were like "Do you want more capacity and accessories or more function and usefulness?"
    And FN was like: "This gun is going to be the most unnecessarily huge pistol ever that has way more shit than anyone would ever need or use. Its basically America if America was a gun.
    And the engineers were like "Sooooo..... yes?"

    All that is missing for that total cool look is an Octane 45 silencer, that changes the look from just pretty cool to a "Man From Uncle" gun. A 1,200 lumen light with laser under that barrel really finishes off the look and functionality of that gun. The grip is a good place to start though, 20 bucks for a new grip is a pretty cheap upgrade, I have those installed on every gun that I just might use in the real world, that's how good those are. I put them on my AR's and other rifles, anything with a pistol grip gets this treatment for me.

    • @JustinOpinionChannel

      No. There is no need to destroy the factory grip. I really won't make any difference in the feel of the rubber wrap, and you'll reduce the value of your gun.

    I just Talonized my 20+ year old Kimber 1911 with Recover Grips. It turned out great. The Recover grips are a great way to add a picatinny rail to a 1911 or Beretta 92 but they do have a cheap feel where the 2 halves fit together at the front strap. The Talon grip totally fixed that. Thanks for turning me on to Talon and Thanks for saving me 10%.

    I have the m2.0 compact. The grip is way too rough for me. I prefer the texture of the vp9. I've considered sanding it a little but not sure if it will ruin the look? I want to try rubber talon grips but I don't know how much of a pain it would be to remove if I don't like it?

    • @JustinOpinionChannel
      @JustinOpinionChannel  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Heating help contours the grip all the way closer in small areas, but it make the grip life span much shorter, how do i know? been using them for years spend over $300 plus on grip and materials, if you heat up the grip the rubber and the glue bonding get lose, while the glues stick to your firearms more, in my experience with out heating the rubber last longer

    • @JustinOpinionChannel
      @JustinOpinionChannel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's possible you might be heating a bit too much? One reason I have stuck with a hair drying and not a heat gun. I'm sure there is a temperature at which the structure of the material starts to break down and weaken. I've had good experience with mine so far including some that have been on for a few years and been heavily used. But it's good to have options and get different points of view - so thanks for that.

    If carrying the fnx45 tactical in any position where it makes contact with your skin this is a worthwhile upgrade. The stock texture is amazing for shooting but can tear up your skin when moving. These products have a use case that is for a practical purpose as much as aesthetic. All depends on use case🤷

    They add extra back straps options to this pistol. I find it comical you need (skateboard) grip tape to hold your pistol. I dream of owning this gun some day but seeing you owning it and adding skateboard tape to it is comical to me. Squeeze the damn gun, I notice you say you like the way it looks but fuck man, do a after video of all your mods to show what you've done to it, this alone makes me think you cant hold a handgun.

    • @mr_fnh

    • @hubriswonk
      @hubriswonk ปีที่แล้ว

      hahaha............this is not a small gun to hold on to. It shoots very well and after running several mags through drills it can get very cumbersome to grip. So you can "squeeze" the gun all you want when you get yours and see for yourself. I do not have the grip on my .45 but do have it on the 509 and it helps.

    • @JustinOpinionChannel
      @JustinOpinionChannel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I like grippy and grippier. Sometimes I say "much more grippier". Tactile is simply a word to describe a sense of feel or touch - it does not of itself indicate the degree of friction produced or experienced. Sorry to annoy, but I'm not always trying to sound like a scientist. ;-)
