Thank you for posting this video! I am getting ready to pull the trigger on ordering one but the seat color options on the Kia website are a bit misleading. For instance, on the website on the SX it looks more gray (blue tone) than beige. (I prefer the beige look). Also on the website if you pick the gray leather on the SX it shows the glove compartment and piece under the steering wheel turning black which really darkens the cockpit. In reality it looks like those areas are gray/beige to match the leather. Your video was awesome as I can see what the gray interior truly looks like in the SX (literally the only one I could find on TH-cam that wasn't the prestige which has a slightly different leather). Feel much more confident placing my order now. THANK YOU!!!
So glad the video helped you with your purchase decision. The seat surfaces are a different color than the seat backs and bottoms. I wish that they had made the color the same. It’s as if they didn’t put much thought into the overall look of the interior. Minor quips but…… If I’m not mistaken the brown, which I thought looked pretty good, has an entirely brown interior as opposed to mine that is half grey half black.
The new logo fits the Telluride very well✨. It also looks great on the 2022 K5. However I do think the emblem should've been finished in black for the lighter colors to aid in contrast
I can't seem to get the smart lift gate to work. It's set to enabled in settings. I lock car, walk away for a minute, walk up to the gate with key in pocket, but nothing happens.
Don’t know what to say. If I approach the rear of the vehicle the vehicle will beep 3 times and then a long beep and the tailgate opens. It’s worked like that since day one.
Nice ride, love the new emblem. I just got the 2021 SXL PRESTIGE Nightfall edition in march, dark moss, i love it. No mark-up price from all Huffines kia dealerships. Bought 2019 Sorento SXL in december 2019 before letting go in march when i had the 2021 telluride.
Nice exterior and interior color combination - very practical - light color, less heat. If I were you, I would take that engine cover off permanently so cooling air can move freely around the engine.
I guess I appreciate the space saving vertical mounting of the air filter but the filter seems a bit loose in the housing which could contribute to unfiltered air making its way past the filter. It does make changing the air filter a bit quicker, 2 minutes instead of 4 minutes. I just thought it was a bit gimmicky. Wish they would have thought a bit more about the spark plugs on the back bank of the engine. They will be a pain to change.
@@didifixthat7910 You can easily tell if there is really a gap between the housing and the air filter when streaks of dirt will show around that area after you have driven it a few hundred miles. Please get back to us with your findings. Thank you for sharing your observation.
You bring up a valid point. I think that the kids today don’t meet the minimum government crash test standards. How in the world did fogies like you and I survive childhood without the use of crash helmets and elbow pads. It truly is a Christmas miracle that we made it this far in our lives.
No the dude didn’t. There wasn’t one on the lot when we ordered this. Basically looks like any other car under the hood with the exception of the novel air filter housing. Of note is the back bank of spark plugs that will be a pain to change for the next owner. I probably won’t have the car when the plugs need to be changed. Other than that, looks like most other front wheel drive v6 engines. Thanks for watching.
The design appears to allow for some air leakage around the intake plenum. I would prefer a more traditional style with superior sealing around the filter for something that is changed at most one time a year. Just my opinion about but it does appear as though they attempted to reinvent the mousetrap.
They should have blacked out the KIA logos like the previous 21my. Hopefully they receive feedback and do it for the next year so you can swap em out. Great looking car nonetheless.
I believe that the rear A/C control from the front seat is controlled or displayed on the 10.25 “ screen. Tuning up the back three cylinders I’d imagine it could be done from underneath like the V6 Chrysler put in their 1st minivans. (When mine arrives I’ll let you know what I think), but what I haven’t seen in anyone’s videos is where is the jack kept? Hidden under the rear cover? Since the initial shock of the new Kia emblem on the Nightfall Edition, I actually like the brushed metal look. When I took your photo from the forum and painted the rear symbol black, a friend of mine pointed out that she didn’t like it in black. She said from a distance it just looks like oriental writing or a oriental symbol. I looked again and she was right. Mine is the Glacial White Pearl as well and I’m going to leave both of the emblems alone. If you now look at the old emblems, they’re kind of plain looking and with the new ones, everyone will know we have something new and unusual. I’m still going to wait on your plasti dip this weekend but talk it over with your better half and see if the new emblems have actually grown on you. 🤔
The jack is located in the rear trunk area in the left floor board. It is the exposed portion on the left at the 15:34 mark. There is a hard plastic cover that lifts off to reveal the jack
Pretty much all dealer I contacted had an up charge. What I found interesting is that all car appeared to have the same up charge. Didn’t matter if it was the cheapest car or the most expensive car on the lot. Now wether or not they actually charge it for the cheaper cars is another thing. Not sure how that works. Seems like most dealers were trying to get $5000 over sticker on these. They have pretty much been that way since they came out. I think there are some dealers that will order them for you at $0 markup but you will have to travel to them. Just wouldn’t work for me. Let me know what your finding out about up charges.

Excellent video. I noticed that there’s an AGM Battery under the hood instead of a lead (Pb) acid one. Did they remove the black lug nuts for the Nightfall Edition for MY 2022? I’ve heard the talk about it but my dealership (VA057) said that mine will have the black lug nuts. Check with your dealership to see if they removed yours just for the locking lug nut on each wheel.
