At his age, he was clearly struggling trying to look after her. She knew it and i think he did as well. She had no choice but to move on. His loyalty to her though never wavered. He mutilated himself to protect her and at the end sacrificed himself for her.
Will you stop comparing Owen to Thomas Jesus they are completely different people. With Thomas she needed a caretaker to look after her and aid her and yes she loved Thomas but more like a brother he may have been in love with her but she didn’t feel that way that’s why she never turned him. With Owen it’s different she is actually as much in love with him as he is with her. She came back knowing she was wanted for all them murders to help Owen fight his bullies because she loved him enough to sacrifice herself for him and yes at some point I think she will turn him so they can be together forever
@@Renwick19 Actually he's right. This is Owen's future. Because she need someone to hunt for her. I think the book alluded to this same thing. Their story isn't a happy ending, it's tragic in the long run but living for the moment. I don't think she turns anyone. Her life is a cursed one. She doesn't want to share what she is with anybody. She's known Owen for less than a year. Owen it like 15 at best. There's no such thing a love in that scenario.
@@masterDarts4188 The author of the original book actually subsequently wrote a short story as an epilogue in which it is revealed that Oskar (Owen) does get turned into a vampire by Eli (Abby) after they get off the train. Obviously this doesn't necessarily have to apply to the film adaptation. The writer/director has said he intentionally left it so that the viewer could make up their own mind. They are definitely supposed to be in love. Both the author and the screenwriter intended it to be a love story as much as a horror one.
According to Kodi, the actor who played Owen, the ending is ambiguous but his personal belief is that his character does take Thomas' place, and therefore Abby will eventually replace Owen just like she replaced Thomas once he became too old.

Or at best Abby turn Owen into a vampire, with the need for human life blood to just simply live, and animalistic impulse to murder.
It's a cycle
oh hey, it's Mr. Deadpool!
I don't get it was that older Owen that just died or not???
