Hi, I just wanted to let you know the rats should always be kept in group's of 2 or more, they can get extremely depressed and have other problems, we all make mistakes at first, I know from experience but it is always such a great feeling when your rats are happy
Do you have any tips on picking them up? My rats eat out of my hand when they're hungry and will crawl all over me, but the moment I try to pick them up they panic, like really panic. I need two hands to grab them and most of the times I need a couple of attempts before I succeed in picking them up and getting them out of their cage in order to explore the couch with me. So I cant really take them to my practice spot outside the cage haha. and I also have a hard time getting them back once they're out since they won't let me pick them up and will just run through my entire room..
Try to pick them up slowly. So they can see your hand and pet them gently before trying to scoop them up. try to use treats to coax them into your hand as well. It is difficult to get a grown rat out of its behavior, but with persistence and patients it can be done. Its best to handle them when they are little a whole bunch, so they get to know you.
I’m havin the same problem had mine since Friday and there friendly take food from me crawl on me but when I try to hold them or pick them up they just squirm and try jump away from me I let them run around my room and they go back in when they like cause I can’t really take them somewhere to try bonding they don’t let me pick them up
This is very helpful i am watching these before i get a rat , i always wanted one after i seen how relaxed this one was at the pet store, like it trusted anyone and everyone and everyTHING around it, im so excited now!!
i know im like 4 years late but the reply you got just wasnt true and i wanted to make sure you knew that. yes, rats can have both chicken and eggs. my boys love hard boiled eggs, and will occasionally eat chicken. as long as you make sure not to give older rats(over 6 months) too much protein, you should be good. but always google before you give a new treat/food to your ratties just to be sure its safe for them :)
when i put food on my hand my rat dont even sniff it he just bite me really bad to the bood and i have scars beacuse of it ..WHY? and gow to help it please..
sounds like your rat has the aggressive gene, and there is no hope for agrressive genetics. When I encounter those types of rats I let it go in a field
@@ambriadanielsband4132 wtf bro? One of my rats was really aggressive cause we made the mistake of getting my boys from a pet store. I tried literally everything but he still bit me. Although I used to play a game where they would come for a small treat and go under my bed and then come back. He was content with that but not me. even tho he was aggressive doesn't mean I let him in the wild that is completely idiotic!
Question about the blanket on the couch thing. Have you experienced that rats will fight with your toes? All my rats have done that and it can get quite wild. They never actually bit me hard, but they did really go toe to toe (lol) with my toes in a way they wouldn't with my fingers. I just find it funny and curious. I wonder if they don't realize that my toes are an extension of my body the same way they do my fingers, or if there is some other explanation. Getting friendly with rats is the easiest thing. I've had lots of rats and none of them have been timid. After only a couple days of a little time and patience, there should be zero issues. Rats are curious, social, smart and adaptive animals and their natural domesticated state is to explore and enjoy you and their surroundings without fear. If you're nice to them and want to be their friend, they will reward you 100%. Small tip: If you don't give them designated hideouts in the cage, like a box, the process will go much faster. It forces the rats to accept that there really is nothing to worry about and as soon as they are past that point, they don't need one anyway. Besides that, just be there and give them free access to you and that's really all you have to do.
+QualeQualeson mine love feet with socks! They are always tugging and pulling on my socks. So cute! I agree it's easier getting rats that aren't so timid. Not everyone has that option though.
I've been having problems socializing my new boys, and I've considered removing their little house from their cage. I was worried it would stress them out, but you think it will help?
Esper It has helped a lot in my case. Listen, if they are fearful from the start, not stressing them some is going to be next to impossible if you want their behavior pattern to change. My rats didn't like it at first when I just put them in the armpit of my jacket and stayed out all day with them. But as scared as they were in the beginning, they became super tight with me because I was their direct source of shelter, food and everything. If you create an environment based on their current pattern, it's only logical that that pattern will not change or change very slowly. I'll say this though, there is no substitute for being able to spend time with them. If you have little time to spend, let's say only a couple hours each day, then you might as well leave their hiding places alone. If you remove something you have to replace it with something else, otherwise it's kinda pointless and cruel.
im pretty late aswell, but yeah! honey covered cheerios work too. they are quite sugary though, so be sure to feed it to them in moderation if you choose to use those instead. also, breaking them up into fours helps. they last longer and your ratties arent getting too much in one sitting. hope this helped :)
@@jacksonns333 I’m glad you replied but sadly my rats died very early. They died in July I’m pretty sure. It’s a long story, but basically my room was too cold and I had a hammock or two in their cage, and they eventually chewed the hammock and found space in between two fabric layers and they took a nap in there. Then I went to check up on them and turns out they didn’t have enough air in there. Sorry for the long reply! :( -Jacy
I don't have a bonding pouch, do you think it would suffice to use a pillowcase I've used enough to retain my smell? just lay it on my lap so I don't need fear my little boy scurrying off into the walls? my 2 are very young and VERY antisocial.
What would you recommend as far as bitey rats? My Galahad likes to try to take a chunk, I think because he was alone in a tank in petsmart for two months. He'll try for a bite if your fingers are too close to the bars, but I try to have him smell me every day, I do give him treats when I sit for a while, I have also cut up a few tees of mine to make a climb rope and a hammock from.
We rescued black and white "fancy rat" who showed up around our house in the Spring. He's been eating the peanuts we put out for the squirrels. He's been around the house for awhile but it had gotten extremely cold here and we decided to try to catch him and bring him inside. I've never had a rat before but love animals and currently have cats and I have raised goats and other animals. It's been a couple days. He will let me pet him but is scared. Do you think a rat who has "tasted freedom" can be brought around. I work from home, so have time to spend with him. The cats have seen him up close out the window a lot so they have little interest in him anymore and I will never let than near him, at least right now. I've always wanted a rat and he seems to have picked up. He actually came up to my husband and sat on his shoe, then went to the front door acted like he wanted to come in the house. That is why we decided to catch him. It was not hard at all. I was able to just grab his tail (which I know is not a thing to do but I had to do it to get him). I'm letting him just get used to being inside right now and not pushing anything.

Hey Ratgirl! I dig your videos. :) we've been parents of 2 baby girls for 2 weeks and your videos have helped a lot! Just one question about this video...what's the orange fluid in the second water bottle?
Your rat with the white blaze and brown body reminds me a lot of my rat that passed away. I watch all of your videos and your rat uno is sooooo cute! I am having trouble doing a introduction with my rats do you have any ideas?
of and on I had rats as pets, they are great love them they are loving .... the video was great ... now I do have a question one of your rats the grey ones one has like bold patches is that they way she/he was born or had some nerves issues and pull the patches of fur?
Your rats are adorable, I love Xara's markings, I'm getting two blazed boys in a few weeks :). I have a question, do you ever have a problem with poop or pee when your ratties are out and about? Or is it just something rat owners just have to get used to?
Mine don't poo when they are out and only some pee. When they do pee it's only little drops. I just wash my blankets weekly. Some males however don't care and poo and pee all the time! That's why I love my girls 😍
My first pair of rats were tamed but then I got another pair of rats, the new girlies didn't have much interaction in their old home, so one of the newer girls are still shy. My older girls however, are now getting scared of me . What should I do?
I got a new baby rat about a week ago (Lark). She isn't really scared of me (takes treats from my hand but doesn't let me pet her) but doesn't care to spend any time at all with me and will not let me touch her other than when she is eating. The first couple of days she liked being in my shirt but she doesn't stay there any more. I know you are supposed to hold them every day but she is so crazy and filled with energy that she will not consent to being held even when there is food. An example of her crazyness is that right now after two hours out of the cage running around the room I put her in the cage and she is chewing on the bars! I have already tamed my other rat (Wren) so though she doesn't want to snuggle she is not at all scared of me, the not snuggling thing is her personality. Problem is that Lark does not care about food near as much as Wren does. I don't really know how to go about taming her because I know she will not stay in a pouch and I don't think she would stay under the covers of a blanket. Any help would be welcomed. I know we will get there in the end but I would like that to be as soon as possible. I don't have much time for them because I am going to school all day so they only get two hours of free time everyday.
www.etsy.com/shop/wrapcity these are called ratoobs and are very similar to the bonding pouch. It's just a scarf you wear around your neck with elastic bands on either side to hold it on, put your rat (or any other small animal) In and they'll feel very secure and comfortable while getting used to who you are
I had 2 little rats a little while ago and they were the cutest pet's i've ever been around. Sadly they passed away a little while ago and I haven't considered getting new ones yet but I still really love the little cuties.
heya awesome lady, could you tell your husband that those Seagate external hard drives are rubbish? I've had a few coz they're a lot of hard drive fairly cheap but they fail loads quicker than any other drive I've owned. Western Digital drives are better and if you shop around you'll get a much better deal *nods*
You can always put a designated blanket down over the couch. If they’re litter trained, they’ll try and avoid pooping/peeing on the couch. You can always put their litter tray on the couch if they’ll be out for a long time. .
Great video! I wonder what you suggest for rats that won't accept being picked up. I have had them (2 boys, 10 weeks old) for less than two weeks. At the breeder they were very good being picked up but now they won't let me lay my hand on them to take them out of the cage. With food I can get them to sit on my hand in the cage and now I want to start using a bonding pouch but the problem is: how do I put them in it?? I know that some people talk about "confidently" picking them up and they will eventually adapt but at the moment it does not feel right.
I agree with your friend just start picking them up and cuddling with them! Do you cuddle with them? Talk softly to them? Bribe them with treats? Are they tamer now that you have had them for all while?
Do they eventually figure out that you aren't food? Two of my 4 babies (5 weeks old now) keep grabbing me. They did it since they could see (when I got them) but now it seems like they are doing it harder (still grabs and not bites). The hardest part is.. it startled me. I have jumped every time! Then I feel horrible cause everyone ran. They are all very mouthy, but two of them have never made the error and the other two do it more and more frequently.
This actually the type if video i was looking for! I'm too worried to free roam my rats in my room because once you think you've rat proof a room it's never really rat proof lol So the couch thing and the desk idea is really nice and it's something i might do later! Would you happen to have an tips for training a rat to sit on your shoulder calmly? That's something i'd love to do and would like to hear your advice if you have any! Thanks again for this video!
their is a problem with my cage it only has 2 small doors and the main one is right next to this big blue hideaway so it will be difficult to interact with them
Great video, any suggestions for me regarding my two rats who if I let them out of there cage, they hide inside the sofa and it can take hours to get them out and back in the cage. We’ve had the rats for a couple of months now
What do I do if my pet rat bites everything she sees? should I let her bite my toes and fingers since she always wants to? I haven't let her because I don't want to be mistaken for food.
I have a problem, if I let my rats out like the desk video they would run away and hide, like get off the desk and hide somewhere, I really need help getting my rats use to being out of the cage without being scared :(

We have had 9 rats so far and we are looking after a couple for a friend. We were a little nervous at first about how quickly they would be actively friendly but in fact we haven't had any problems at all. Rats seem to be genuinely friendly and even the shyest of our rats has been friendly. It is interesting how much of a distinct personality rats have. All 9 (+2) of them have been different but they have all been lovely little chaps. The only drawback to them as pets is that they don't live very long. I haven't got used to it when they die - I've been really upset every time.
okay, so i just bought a fancy male rat. but only one! they told me that one would be better but everybody on the internet and from my research has said otherwise. now, with having one rat, how does this effect things differently from having more? should i go back and get another one? and can i suddenly spook my new rattie with anOTHER new rattie the day after?? hmmm confusion. help! get another, or dont??
Ali Robinson I say get another because they are very social animals and are always together. You should introduce them carefully say in a bathtub together ( not filled with water* ) so they can get to know each other In an environment they can run around in. Keep a close eye on them and watch for any signs of aggression. If that happens remove a rat and try again a bit later. Hopefully I helped you out 👍🏻
It sounds like it has stomach problems dear cuz that sure isn't typical rat behavior, if it doesn't eat cashews there is a BIG problem there and needs to see a vet.
It's just my rats are so skittish like I move my little finger 1mm and they run back in their cage :( I did only get them yesterday though, when I have baby food on my hand they come to me and only 1 let's me stroke its head when it eats, if I keep on doing this will they start to like me? Hahah am I doing it right? Also they are only 2 months old, I don't know if that's important to know?
What do you do if they are smaller rats, and they move extremely fast? I've recently gotten 2 young female rats (their body is about palm length when fully stretched out), and they are quite skittish when being handled at the moment so I am reluctant to take them out of the cage and let them roam around because I am scared they will flee somewhere where I cant catch them. They come up to my hand when it is in the cage, and climb up the side of the cage when I walk past, or talk to them.
What if I’m scared of handling my rats? Will they jump out of the cage? I just have so many questions about this. My rats are always excited to see me and come up to me in their cage when I’m nearby
Give it time ...feed them something big enough it wont bite u by accident ...its probaly nervous and is trying to get away ..bond some more it will eventually have no reason to run an bites will stop ...usualy the rats that do this are just from the pet shop an dont have much exp hand feeding
I need help, I got two males rat 2 months ago for my pet rat as playmates but they are really aggressive. I tried the spoon and food trick but one of them just hanged onto the spoon. I can’t stick my hand in the cage without attacks and I am at a loss on what to do. They are 2 years old and there names are Ryan and Ricardo. Ryan is the really aggressive one, Ricardo isn’t that aggressive. Btw when I got them I noticed that the tip of Ryan’s tail is gone and he is missing a finger. They both had respiratory issues when I got them. I am at a loss please help.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know the rats should always be kept in group's of 2 or more, they can get extremely depressed and have other problems, we all make mistakes at first, I know from experience but it is always such a great feeling when your rats are happy
Oh my goodness! Your ratties are so precious!!!
IzzyvH Try getting your hand under their belly and scooping them up
Try to pick them up slowly. So they can see your hand and pet them gently before trying to scoop them up. try to use treats to coax them into your hand as well. It is difficult to get a grown rat out of its behavior, but with persistence and patients it can be done. Its best to handle them when they are little a whole bunch, so they get to know you.
Just dont ever pick them up by the tail. Thats the wrong way. Try it gently underneath the stomach
IzzyvH what sex were they?
I’m havin the same problem had mine since Friday and there friendly take food from me crawl on me but when I try to hold them or pick them up they just squirm and try jump away from me I let them run around my room and they go back in when they like cause I can’t really take them somewhere to try bonding they don’t let me pick them up
This is very helpful i am watching these before i get a rat , i always wanted one after i seen how relaxed this one was at the pet store, like it trusted anyone and everyone and everyTHING around it, im so excited now!!
How do you clean your rat cage, I want to try to do something like yours with blankets and cloths but how do you clean it?
I thought rats (rodents in general) are natural "granivores". Is it a good idea to feed them eggs, chicken, etc?
No rats, mice and hamsters are omnivores.
i know im like 4 years late but the reply you got just wasnt true and i wanted to make sure you knew that. yes, rats can have both chicken and eggs. my boys love hard boiled eggs, and will occasionally eat chicken. as long as you make sure not to give older rats(over 6 months) too much protein, you should be good. but always google before you give a new treat/food to your ratties just to be sure its safe for them :)
when i put food on my hand my rat dont even sniff it he just bite me really bad to the bood and i have scars beacuse of it ..WHY? and gow to help it please..
sounds like your rat has the aggressive gene, and there is no hope for agrressive genetics. When I encounter those types of rats I let it go in a field
Ambria Daniels Band ummm why would you release it in the wild?? That’s not they’re fault for having an aggressive GENE don’t ever do that
@@ambriadanielsband4132 wtf bro?
If you remove something you have to replace it with something else, otherwise it's kinda pointless and cruel.
thanks, very helpful
maybe ur toes should stop fighting back lol....it takes 2 to fight
Hey! I know I’m really late here. But I just got my rats yesterday and I’m still learning about them. Do the honey covered Cheerios work too?
im pretty late aswell, but yeah! honey covered cheerios work too. they are quite sugary though, so be sure to feed it to them in moderation if you choose to use those instead. also, breaking them up into fours helps. they last longer and your ratties arent getting too much in one sitting. hope this helped :)
:( -Jacy
@@pleasedonotdisturb..9958 i’m sorry to hear that, i’m sure before they passed they had a great life with you. they rest in ratty heaven now
I just go to the pet store and hold out my hand in the box. at least one will climb your hand. that's the one I pick
no. rats from pet stores are most likely to be sick and abused by the mass breeder they came from.
SubieLand same
Ally I got my baby rats from the pet store
TsGhosty, well give them the best darn life possible!
That’s exactly what I did they were snake food smh but my girl Dora JUMPED onto my hand and a year later she’s a spoiled little girl
I don't have a bonding pouch, do you think it would suffice to use a pillowcase I've used enough to retain my smell? just lay it on my lap so I don't need fear my little boy scurrying off into the walls? my 2 are very young and VERY antisocial.
+Esper yea! That would work great
great! thanks for answering, I'm at my wits end with these poor feeder rescues.
Don't you have any problems with the rats chewing on cables? Do you have to watch them the whole time while they're running free?
AAAAHHHH what kind of rat is Fatboy?!?!? he looks so plushy!!!! XD
my question exactly!
he looks like a double Rex.
Maybe a Harley
Tatiana Hansen ikr i have a pet rat name milly and she funny because we put a slide and she slides doqn its funnny and cute
Maybe he's the fancy rat breed. I have one named Scrabble, and he's ENORMOUS.
+megane babe is he only doing it through the bars?
Great video!! Also what is that red stuff in their water bottle?
I was also curious about that
Sadie's Paws Its decaf black tea, I saw her reply to another comment. I thought it was apple cider vinegar.
What was the thing she had on her hand at the beginning of the video and what was that orange stuff in the water bottle at 1:45? Also what kinda rat is Fatboy (love that name btw) he's so cute and fluffy lol. And does anyone know any ways to train your rats to not poop or pee out side the cage?
thats weird asf you have the same mouse as me
Overwatch Plays rat*
Compos The Whippet i think they mean computer mouse?
Roostr idk
R/woooosh
*I HAVE THE POWER*
I am getting my first pet rats tomorrow! I'm so excited! Thanks for the tips I'll definitely use these!
I got a baby feeder because there weren’t any other options in my town so they aren’t used to being picked up. Thanks for this
same, my first two were also feeders but seem to be doing pretty well. im getting a 3rd in the next few days, and he’s coming from a breeder this time so he’s socialized and used to people, unlike feeders. how are your ratties doing now? are they used to being picked up and handled?
@@jacksonns333 they are total sweeties. Unfortunately one passed away due to respiratory related issues but the other boy is my heart rat. An absolute sweetie
@@dainah105 im sorry one passed away. but i’m glad to hear the other boy is doing okay :)
Oh they are all gorgeous!! Is the bigger grey one a rex rat?
Does this work for mice? I own the cutest mice and all i can find are rat videos.
Love the part w/ thebrats in the carrier... anything on how to introduce rats to another animal? My dog is bred for hunting, so I'm not sure how I should introduce them.
carefully
seriously though if anyone can answer this question that would be great
Hey Ratgirl! I dig your videos. :) we've been parents of 2 baby girls for 2 weeks and your videos have helped a lot! Just one question about this video...what's the orange fluid in the second water bottle?
I have only had my rats for a couple weeks, and they are already comfortable with me. But, how do you keep from getting poop on your couch?
Your rat with the white blaze and brown body reminds me a lot of my rat that passed away. I watch all of your videos and your rat uno is sooooo cute! I am having trouble doing a introduction with my rats do you have any ideas?
+Henry Faber Have you a watched my videos on intros?
of and on I had rats as pets, they are great love them they are loving .... the video was great ... now I do have a question one of your rats the grey ones one has like bold patches is that they way she/he was born or had some nerves issues and pull the patches of fur?
Your rats are adorable, I love Xara's markings, I'm getting two blazed boys in a few weeks :). I have a question, do you ever have a problem with poop or pee when your ratties are out and about? Or is it just something rat owners just have to get used to?
Mine don't poo when they are out and only some pee. When they do pee it's only little drops. I just wash my blankets weekly. Some males however don't care and poo and pee all the time! That's why I love my girls 😍
Oh boy I hope mine will be like yours haha. I'll love them either way :)
My first pair of rats were tamed but then I got another pair of rats, the new girlies didn't have much interaction in their old home, so one of the newer girls are still shy. My older girls however, are now getting scared of me . What should I do?
I have an incredible thick, cushy, Velveteen comforter that my rats love.
One of my best purchases from Amazon.
It's just a scarf you wear around your neck with elastic bands on either side to hold it on, put your rat (or any other small animal) In and they'll feel very secure and comfortable while getting used to who you are
+Emily Smith love this idea!!
What about them pooping and peeing? Won't that get all over the couch and stuff?
Rats can be litter trained
Rats hold their bladders. They actually can hold it for a long time
You can always put a designated blanket down over the couch. If they’re litter trained, they’ll try and avoid pooping/peeing on the couch. You can always put their litter tray on the couch if they’ll be out for a long time.
.
When u get your rat do u have to leave it for a couple of days to let it get used to its surroundings then started taming it ?
My precious rat is a double rex. I have 3 and love them dearly. Super smart and loving.
Yea until your rats are tame free range time can be kinda stressful!
Hi I love your videos! I was wondering what was in the water bottle because it was orange?
+Sharon Kim It was tea and raw honey! That night was super cold out and I figured I would give them a little treat. They love it.
+RatGirl44 what type of tea? This is amazing!!!:)
+RebbyRaeSun just plain decaf black tea.
+RadicalRatRealm Yes! they love it! I give them plain decaf black tea
their is a problem with my cage it only has 2 small doors and the main one is right next to this big blue hideaway so it will be difficult to interact with them
Great video, any suggestions for me regarding my two rats who if I let them out of there cage, they hide inside the sofa and it can take hours to get them out and back in the cage. We’ve had the rats for a couple of months now
Whats that orange stuff in one of the water bottles?
Erik Cooper decaf black tea :)
Paige Burns why tea?
What are they liking from your hand
What do I do if my pet rat bites everything she sees? should I let her bite my toes and fingers since she always wants to? I haven't let her because I don't want to be mistaken for food.
Puppyy just push the rat away (like a nudge) just so she know that it’s a no-no 😉
What breed of rats do you have? They look really cute
I have a problem, if I let my rats out like the desk video they would run away and hide, like get off the desk and hide somewhere, I really need help getting my rats use to being out of the cage without being scared :(
love your channel but I have tried to get rats for 2 yrs but my family has a really old dog and she barks at birds so my mom said we can get a rat when she passes away because if we get them now she would not stop barking but I don't think she would bark will you do a video to help me one that I can show my parents
I found a rat it came through the sheetrock or somewhere. Tn mtg husbands apartment. I know he's wild. So late at night I put out food at the same time every night. And he eats it but hides somewhere in the apartment I think he's a roof rat. He don't tear up the apartment very quiet. And my husband don't really want him here. So I must capture him and take him to my apartment. Any suggestions. Cause I really feel for this rat. He's considerate and don't bother anyone. Can he be trained or should I let him loose in the woods or take him home. Not sure. ?? Thank you
Which cage are you using for them?
Brilliant video thank you....I have just adopted two females apparently 12 weeks but the biggest one is a biter doesn't want to come out the cage.....looking forward to your next video .....x
Does it draw blood, if it doesn't it's just scared, give it time.
How did you stay so calm when the gray hooded rat bit you??
I have my two hooded rats that are both very shy and i cant get them to trust me enough to not run away when they arent in the cage i really need help
What do I do if one keeps biting me really hard? It doesn't draw blood but it hurts.
My rats on the first step just climb up my arm and jump to the floor. Is this good?
I don't think you will respond but can I keep 2 rats in an aquarium like a hamster?
+Hamster Surprises no aquariums are not suitable for rats. They have never sensitive respiratory systems and need a cage with free flowing air
Awww your rats are so cute!! What were they eating? It kinda looked like dog peanut butter.
I haven't got used to it when they die - I've been really upset every time.
ok but..how often do they shit on your couch, table, furniture, etc...u don't see any of that in these videos!
What pet do you off that doesn't poop?
Where did you get that bonding pouch?!
WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR CAGE TRAYS
What sort of coloration is the white one? Just beautiful!!
siamese. so cute!
Thanks! Definitely super cute :)!!
One of my rats will just book for the crevices on the bed or couch and she's not a fan of the playpen I made for her, not sure how to fix this.
okay, so i just bought a fancy male rat. but only one! they told me that one would be better but everybody on the internet and from my research has said otherwise. now, with having one rat, how does this effect things differently from having more? should i go back and get another one? and can i suddenly spook my new rattie with anOTHER new rattie the day after?? hmmm confusion. help! get another, or dont??
Ali Robinson I say get another because they are very social animals and are always together. You should introduce them carefully say in a bathtub together ( not filled with water* ) so they can get to know each other In an environment they can run around in. Keep a close eye on them and watch for any signs of aggression. If that happens remove a rat and try again a bit later. Hopefully I helped you out 👍🏻
Dont the rats pee or poop on the couch If you put them under the blanket?
My rat dosent really pay attention to the treats. What should i do?
It sounds like it has stomach problems dear cuz that sure isn't typical rat behavior, if it doesn't eat cashews there is a BIG problem there and needs to see a vet.
All i did to "tame" my rats is treat my rats with love and showed that they don't need to be afraid so my way is easy, so our way is similar.
What cage do you use?? I'ma getting rats soon and it literally can't find cages anywhere!
Is the water in that water bottle orange
It's just my rats are so skittish like I move my little finger 1mm and they run back in their cage :( I did only get them yesterday though, when I have baby food on my hand they come to me and only 1 let's me stroke its head when it eats, if I keep on doing this will they start to like me? Hahah am I doing it right? Also they are only 2 months old, I don't know if that's important to know?
Are they female or male?
I am worried about rats biting me when I leave my arms in the cage. Do you think a rat from a good rescue would bite?
Ask the rescue about the rats personality, it depends on the rats not the rescue
+Kerrie Owen I would try setting up a little area in the bathroom and closing the door.
BRO SAME! FOOD IS ONE OF THE WAYS TO MY HEART!
What if I’m scared of handling my rats? Will they jump out of the cage? I just have so many questions about this. My rats are always excited to see me and come up to me in their cage when I’m nearby
I thought rats left a pee trail do you cover your furniture? or potty training?
Hi I've just got two and one keeps biting and drawing blood.. any suggestions?

I tried doing this and I am young. My rat comes to my hands and sniffs it then bites me hard. Can I fix this?
Give it time ...feed them something big enough it wont bite u by accident ...its probaly nervous and is trying to get away ..bond some more it will eventually have no reason to run an bites will stop ...usualy the rats that do this are just from the pet shop an dont have much exp hand feeding
where did you get that cage?
my new rats hate me i put my hands in the cage but dont come out i try to hand feed them and they wont eat its really annoying what should i do
I need help, I got two males rat 2 months ago for my pet rat as playmates but they are really aggressive.
