Eyyyy, I went 4 for 4. I like how I knew the deaths were bad in the first three intuitively, but I couldn't put it in exact words, so having Jenkins explain specifically why was pretty nice.
Another example: In the laning stage as a safelane support, if I can get both offlane heroes to chase me (trading kills, contest bounty rune, contest wards) then my carry can get one or two free waves. Worth it even if I die
Yep, this is specially true if you are damn sure you are going to lose the lane anyway, wasting their time trying to kill you outside of the lane a couple of times could be the difference between your carry being completely shutdown on min 10 or having decent farm to contest the mid game onward.
I have another feed strategy that legit works in lower ranks, "Unintentionally" feed so your team plays better and doesn't throw. Might sound stupid but try it my 2k fellas, i'm now 3k
Indeed. And you will also see most games team with one good player the rest play throw and build trash items. With that in mind u just have to adjust your play and dont over commit, idiot teammates usually over confident when being carried
Example 3 happened to me before, except I was the one feeding as Nature's Prophet. Enemy had an uberfed QoP and a Clinkz who made it his mission to hunt me down. Since I was on a hard farming splitpush build it might not have been a good idea since I'd have a longass death timer and a very expensive buyback, but I was still mostly a noob back then so what did I know. Eventually the QoP was 6 slotted and we were getting pushed back into the base. Our Wraith King (the main carry) wasn't doing so well himself, so I decided to just "ditch" the game and keep teleporting to the sidelanes to push. This had the effect of two of the enemy heroes (Clinkz and someone else, QoP initially) to try and chase me since I was knocking on their tier 3s by now while they were having problems sieging high ground (or straight up BMing, I don't really remember anymore). I ended up building to stall time and annoy the Clinkz even further, with Shadow Blade and Ghost Scepter. Somehow this stalled the game so much that Wraith King fed off the remaining siegers over and over again until he deathballed while QoP could not do anything against him. We won that game, and it was really surprising that time that it was my selfish decision to ditch my team and do Bulldog NP things that opened the opportunity for a turn around as someone who was watching me play pointed out. DotA really is a beautiful game.
Ironically one of the the best space creators is Techies... No matter how hard you try a really good Techies player with proper vision (which is easy with remote mines) can either blast off on your face before the kill, tp out or run into mines. It may still be a feed if there's an enemy Pudge or Silencer but other than that he's almost like a feed proof hero.
While techies create a ton of space i think he’s a griefer he sucks a ton of gold and xp from carries. Ive seen so many games where techies pop off only to lose. He gets so many last hits on kills carries could have gotten and nukes creep waves carries could have killed, some kills he makes are out of xp range for allies. He tends to make kills on your side of the map, which don’t lead to objectives. I think techies players need to play more agressive, kill the enemy carry in their own jungle.
@@crown9413 Bad techies do usually take up farm from their carries, but a good one takes the farm they are allowed to get because the carry isn't there to get it anyways. They push the waves that no one else wants to because it's too risky. Killing the carry in the enemy jungle though is a bit difficult considering how easy it is to kill a techies if you have one silence. A good techies player though will snowball games by applying insane map pressure with their pushes and also simultaneously denying the enemy jungle and preventing pushes. When played well and not countered techies can be good but is also really difficult to do correctly and is definitely a niche pick
would prefer bounty hunter. dusts and sentries will be spent before they kill you and you dont need farm because u got track and jinada. plus you can scout, initiate and counter the counter initiate by canceling daggers. just know your positioning and learn how to gank properly
Theres downsides to this as with all things, but however i will from now on choose to view techies as this instead of the game-ruining pick it probably is, just for my own sake :)
So the main problem is, that in my bracket, even after I create space for my team to farm, they're just fooling around on the map like idiots and waste all the time I've created for them.
What I learned from this video. 1: Dying next to the things the enemy wants to take will make them take it faster and easier as they're already right beside it. 2: Dying as a VIP carry is never worth (unless it is a 1 for 5 or something) 3: the enemies side of the map is safer to farm when losing. Which also causes you to not accidentally go against rule #1.
You just need to drag the game enough time for your team to farm their items, basically force them waste their resources like tp or wards or even their best skills on you
Running down mid to create space is a dumb idea because mid is the shortest lane in the game. If you go to a side lane, it forces people to move around a lot more, and it gives you more chances to juke, further wasting time.
I realise in legend bracket, people are afraid to go to enemy side to farm. So we slowly choke to death or depends on stupid highground push from enemy.
When the carry died I got that one right. The other 3 were situations that I wasn't 100% sure on, but I was more or less right but not for clear enough reasons. Thanks.
first thing to determine whether is it feed or creating space is your death worthy. if it can save your carry from bad ganking yes, sometimes you created space to prevent enemy gank your carry.
I am proud and a little sad, but Jenkins videos don't seem to help me progress anymore. I'm 7100 and Jenkins was a big part of this, but I finally feel like I know all the right answers to any questions raised in the videos. Thank you Andrew, I'll still watch every single one of your future videos ♡
I actually got all these correct, which I'm definitely surprised by. I didn't think I understood these situations as well as I did, so that's at least a SINGLE concept I got right in four specific situations.
In herald you can create a whole universe for team to invade enemy side of the map or take objectives and the response will always be "report supp no wards".
Correct me if Im wrong but in the first clip, I don't think its a feed. Hear me out:I think the dire were smoked and lesh broke the smoke, Sven was going to get ganked and the lesh prevented that, also puck and pango used ulty to kill him. I am not saying this is space, but I think its a necessary feed in order for the fight to be good
Something to consider. The Void could have lived that if one of two things happened. One, he was on str treads. Two, if he casted Q directly in front of him. Why? He literally DIED to the time it took to turn to Q to the right. H was frames away from living but the turn rate fucked him over.
I climbed so much mmr back in 2015 playing offlane solo brood, often 3v1, sometimes getting chased through the trees by the whole enemy team wasting dusts and wards, and more often than not dominating the lane regardless because of level surplus and good timing catching enemy heroes momentarily isolated. Was top 100 on brood husk and invo back then, now I started playing again and brood mid is the best role. Easily take t1 by lvl 6-7, then proceed to dominate the enemy jungle/safe lane forcing their carry to rely on ancient camps that if my pos5 is smart will have warded/blocked. That creates a huge deficit in the enemy team and leads to an easy early 20 min push centric game where the enemy is heavily underleveled/underfarmed.
idk but for me, to put it simple, if you gain something from your death, wether if it is objectives, map control, or net worth, then you are making space. but on the other hand if you death cause you to lose any of those things i mentioned above, then you are feeding. Forcing a bunch of enemy heroes to clog up one lane while trying to kill you means that the other 2 lanes are free for your teams to be taking, and this is become so much more valuable when you are doing it from a support position.
basically if the enemy is 5 manning you dont 5 man back if your team is behind in networth or your draft sucks. You split and push side lanes. Force them to come and get you. Make space by forcing them to chase 300 gold kills when they could be farming 1000 in the same time. Play elusive heroes like weaver, puck, slark, np, night stalker, mk. Anyone that takes far more than 1 hero to catch reliably. If u dictate whether they can push hg or not then youve already won.
I've learned most of these by playing Prophet and feeding a bunch, and then in later games I learned to create space and force rotations without feeding (as much).
this is actually really good list of rules that I hope the "space created" feeders listen to. The rules can definitely be expanded upon but its basis is really well put and I can only hope its going to save me from the animals I get in my games
the third one, i actually do those things even as a core or as a carry. staying in base is a sore lose vs a farmed team with my team too scared to create space for you. as much as it is a feed, it forces a tp or several tps. its easy to fuck up though if you dont bring enough wards. and he overextended by 1-2 secs. if he got two tps or if he at least lived, then it was worth it. I'm looking at his play style more as a gamble because they are already "losing". The lack of bkb and having two farming items late in the game is very greedy for void and he could have itemized better(either yasha or midas but not both, then bkb). The midas on doom as well makes them very weak early-mid. But unless radiant can end in the next 10-20mins, i think dire still has a very high chance especially with tinker as their defender especially if this is a low rank game. we actually lost recently when our team was very strong and trying to push but failed because the enemy carry cut waves and was strong enough to avoid us and split but we cant really kill him unless we got 3v1.
Problem with clip 3? No one on the team thinks the carry is #1 farm #1 life so now the bottom lane is the space created to farm because, well, what are my other options?
jenkins i thought you were gonna make a video about the two supports of t1? especially that one game where they were behind by a lot and yet the two supports managed to still be active and steal stacks as rhasta and undying. i find that very interesting as a support player since i dont know how to make a huge impact like that while behind

Every herald game trying to defend t1 safelane tower dying and teleporting back to defend it again , then die again.
If you don't like it stop being herald
Another example: In the laning stage as a safelane support, if I can get both offlane heroes to chase me (trading kills, contest bounty rune, contest wards) then my carry can get one or two free waves. Worth it even if I die
true especially if the carry is extremely weak in the early game and can die to 1 or 2 skills and auto attacks

From the beginning I thought I did not know, but with every analysis it confirms opposite :D
So the main problem is, that in my bracket, even after I create space for my team to farm, they're just fooling around on the map like idiots and waste all the time I've created for them.
yes, of course, you are the hero of ur story :)
True.
If the space is less valuable (because your team are idiots) then creating it is less valuable and less likely to outweigh the cost of dying
When a go to t2 to feed and create space my wlole team in coming to save me and all 4 of them are feeding to.
Well you cant complain because its YOUR BRACKET like you correctly point out. If you were better thatn those "idiots", this would not be YOUR BRACKET.

What I learned from this video.
1: Dying next to the things the enemy wants to take will make them take it faster and easier as they're already right beside it.

yes, now I need a teammate who don't tip every time I die making space
They are just letting you know how good a job you re doing.
The tips stop if you continue to provide space.

So once my team's behind because I lost mid, constantly running down mid to die at their T2 and dying is space creation?
no
Look at the 3rd clip.
You just need to drag the game enough time for your team to farm their items, basically force them waste their resources like tp or wards or even their best skills on you
Make sure you hit towers and deward them too
Running down mid to create space is a dumb idea because mid is the shortest lane in the game. If you go to a side lane, it forces people to move around a lot more, and it gives you more chances to juke, further wasting time.

"Our boy Windranger".
the third one, i actually do those things even as a core or as a carry. staying in base is a sore lose vs a farmed team with my team too scared to create space for you.
as much as it is a feed, it forces a tp or several tps. its easy to fuck up though if you dont bring enough wards. and he overextended by 1-2 secs.
if he got two tps or if he at least lived, then it was worth it.
