Van Gaal and Mourinho were not nearly as helpless as they were made out to be. ManU seems like a 'club' for ex players and if you're not in favour you'll get dropped. Van Gaal won the FA Cup. Would be a miracle if Ole wins a thing.

I wish we had one of the german high pressing managers like liverpool chelsea and bayern. These guys are masters of the craft and their system if so effective that it makes average players look great. They also don't need a team of superstars to win. They can work around players that are good and their style of play brings the best out of every player. Tuchel transformed the same team lampard was struggling with. Klopp despite not having huge budget always manages to do well with his team.

@Darth Vader not even ronaldo, Manu's whole team barely press and track back. The difference between salah/mane and rashford/greenwood is that salah/mane actively tracks back and helps out in defence being a secondary wingback or even the wingbacks themselves when trent/robbo stray too far forward. You just wont get this kind of intensity and commitment in defence from Manu's wide midfielders. To add on, greenwood is awful in pressing

@@harukrentz435 Zlatan at the time was one of the hottest strikers around and he was very successful for us, Lukaku aswell in his first season and he's showing that now, Pogba was not wanted by Jose he was a board signing apparently, Jose wanted a Dm over Paul and he got him eventually in Matic, Mhkitaryan had the most assists in the Bundesliga before he came to Utd and came as a Rooney replacement, Lindelof was a messed up purchase to be honest but Bailly was amazing before the injuries.
We messed up when we got Jose but that's on the Board and Woodward, we suck at transfers that's something Jose and LVG complained about, Jose got those players because of his familiarity with the agents not cause of our transfer expects who failed to bring in Kroos, Thiago, Baines during Moyes, Saul, Vertonghen,Fabregas,Pedro, Ramos, Hummels, Kante,Higuain, Lewandoski, Alves,Ramos etc under LVG or Maguire, Sandro, Ramos, Brozovic, Perisic etc with Jose.
We rarely purchase players from top clubs successfully especially if we are competing with other teams unless we overpay(Alexis), we also tend to purchase players we need too late and by then another problem will have surfaced e.g Bruno half way through the season when we were poor, Martial aswell even under Ferguson We failed to land Sjneider he ended going to Galatasaray😓, We don't have enough football people up top hence managers and players will struggle without a proper structure to help with manager selection, Players recruiting policy, desired style of play etc.

Too many senior players could not handle his tactics and his ways, that why as desperation Schweinsteiger was brought in, a person who understood LVG. It's well known LVG is too authoritative to get along with senior players, he gets on better with players that are mentally raw who then develop into LVG likes.
Jose had the opposite problem getting transfers who were too young or beyond their peak. everything he saw wrong with the squad has tried to be rectified with OGS.

Fergie took over a team that was floundering and was about to be relegated. He also wasn't that backed in the transfers immediately, but he still managed to improve each year. You cannot compare his scenario with the rest as Moyes took over a title winning squad, Van Gaal was fully backed in the transfer window and got all of his targets, and Mourinho was backed in his first 2 seasons in the transfers as well.
United is a totally different club than it was back then. They still value a long term project (looking at Ole), but they need to see progress because there are more money involved from sponsors and deals, not to mention reputations. At least with Ole, you can clearly see that there's progress, despite the lack of trophies. While the other three all took United backwards. Lvg's 2nd season was painful to watch, and Mourinho 2nd and 3rd was mediocre and inconsistent as well. Ole is not the man for the job, but his team is sure as hell much more of a unit and more consistent

In his two years there, he was the only one that got his transfers done early, meaning he got his targets from the get go. The only thing he didn't get was a proper striker. This video speaks directly to the problem Solskajer currently has at United and shows his failure to address that problem. As pointed out during LVG's tenure, United we able to be an effective pressing team. Due in part to the spatial distancing of the players that Van Gaal wanted during the buildup. Players by nature of their close proximity to each other to retain possession could, upon losing possession, immediately go into pressing mode. Solskjaer is from the old school United days. He believes and has turned United into a forward passing high risk high reward attacking team. That's all well and good but that means he uses the entire field to attack. Pobga finding a streaking Fernades, Lindelof finding a streaking Rashford and Fernandes finding a streaking...anybody. That does not bode well for a press. United don't keep the ball long enough to be called a high possession team. They'd rather score or create chances with 5 of fewer passes. That means they are never set up to press. Add that to the fact that Solskjaer, Mckenna and Carrick apparently aren't doing a good enough job of working on the press during training and the results speak for themselves. Solskjaer has a team with individual talent that could allow him to play a less attacking style and still win games. It seems he's so focus on the attacking end that that he's neglected the defensive side of the ball. Results, 1 clean sheet since May or April of last year. That's terrible. In order for him to get out of the mess he's create he will need to change players and modify their style. He's never going to be a high possession patterned play guy but he's got to find a way of marrying the "play it forward" philosophy with a more defensive edge. Clean sheets are a priority. If he doesn't figure it out, he should be removed.

    While those after him:
    Moyes - 1 season (7th; 1 Community Shield)
    Giggs - 1 month
    Van Gaal - 2 seasons (4th, 5th; 1 FA Cup)
    Mourinho - 2 seasons (2nd, 6th; 1 UEFA Europa League

for the first time since sir Ferguson retired I'm excited about watching the games, and longest away unbeaten run in EPL history, people forget that sir Ferguson lost odd matches as well - probably football fans since 2015. Success don't come over night and that's that.

The problem is that fans don’t want to taste the process. :) Even though they can be patient like the fans in the time of Alex Ferguson who had to wait 3 seasons to get the trophy.

Man United fans back then were patient because they had nothing much to lose. They weren't trophy machines, just finishing 4th, 5th occasional Cups here and there. After Ferguson left they were the biggest trophy machine in England so expectations became more.

    • @vta2265

Maybe because there weren't any progress in the process? Moyes took a title winning team and took the team backwards. LVG declined in his 2nd season despite being backed in the transfer, and Mourinho showed no progress, even though United got 2nd in his second season. Ole on the other hand, you can actually tell that the team is improving and is actually getting their identity back. Also, fergie took over a team that was about to get relegated. He was almost let go at one point. Very different scenarios

The biggest mistake was the players Ferguson left Moyes with. SAF thought Jones, Smalling could take over for Vidic, Ferdinand and we had no wingers or CM left. Giggs, Scholes,Carrick, Ferdinand, Vidic none of them replaced in Moyes first season.

Ole tactics were too possessional, that's why Lingard and VDB is struggling. Ole should make a short passing team (against laid back team) and possession team (against offensive team)

    • @vta2265
      @vta2265 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

That's not United's problem. As shown against them that attacks United, United are phenomenal at countering, using their blistering pace. The problem is when they face a low block team. Because United are so left dominant, all they need to do is shut down Shaw and Rashford, and there goes most of United's attack. Man marking Bruno as well. Once Rashford is back, this should give sancho to play on the right as he was intended, and this will give United more width. Another problem is that United moves the ball too slowly against low block teams. The main ball recycler in either Matic, Fred or Mctominay (or two of the three) are either slow, or too limited at this. They need a CDM who can move the ball much faster and more efficiently, and protect the back four

  • @belacansedap400

The problem is mcfred cannot control tempo of the game. The biggest problem is full backs is not intelligence enough. Shaw is good but decision making is not good enough and AWB, 1st touch predictable, body language also worst. Defence wins you title, attack wins you game but our full backs and midfielders is not good enough
