Our childhood and teen years, we spent our time out of school learning all of these in private courses. My husband had never heard of let alone see My Fair Lady. That was rectified within a day! Followed by many others. He LOVES them. He was shocked to learn I know over 7 languages fluently and learning etiquette. Poor fella didn’t listen well before we married and I explained what he was marrying into. 27+years later we’re still crazy in love and going to so many brilliant theatricals, Operas, listen to multiple composers work at the symphony, travelling…he’s taught me his own things. His things are fun and don’t call for hose or war paint 😂 We raised our children as I was raised and how my hubby was raised, best of both worlds!
The art of cursive is something I’ve passed down as it’s no longer taught in some schools. Also the art of kanji and other writing systems/methods are random things I hold dear. These are all great suggestions that I hope our new generations hold personal value in.
TBH, everybody should know these things. Even the typically "female" activities like cooking and basic clothing repair. Any child educated to know these things would be an independent, well rounded person. And boys with this education wouldn't need their future wives to be their second mothers. I would, however, add in house keeping skills like laundry and basic household bookkeeping to this list.
Yes this is so true. Because the wife is not the mother of her husband. So boys have to understand to do chores too. Men needs to be respected and women need to feel secure.
In former Czechoslovakia, after graduating from a high school, you had a working knowledge of Russian (mandatory) and one additional world language. After a 4y college, you were quite fluent in both (now both mandatory) as you had to go through the tests to graduate. At the PhD. level, you had to have the same command of those languages as your native one. The med and pharmacy students had to be fluent in Latin as well.

Appreciation of finer things i.e. choosing quality over quantity - 1 great perfume over many commercial scents, a small wardrobe consisting of timeless, classic quality items instead of a wardrobe bulging with cheap clothing, a couple of elegant furniture pieces to beautify your environment, good bedlinen, fresh flowers, et al - these items enrich our world and even a small improvement can make a huge difference in our approach to life. The qualities that make a woman truly attractive to the RIGHT kind of partner are intelligence, wisdom and a quiet confidence.

In the past Bulgarian girls were educated in all the described skill, adding keeping sexual purity before marriage without being religious....We also knew how to do embroidery ... Women should learn how to respect themselves and their partner ...Sadly these days the emphasis is more on external intellectual abilities of women, instead of being educated in the direction of growing as true daughters, women and mothers
