Nice video that was on point with no extra BS. Did mine with the Beans sump and dropped my tank to make sure the tank was clean and welded a small shield with a bolt on mount to protect it.
Nice setup and a great install video. You need a finer micron rating than 10 for injector protection. 2 microns is pretty much industry standard. Are the o-rings viton?
@@PowerstrokeBoiz, on my 1993 instead of doing the sump I used a section of fuel hose and a brass-T fitting to sit on the tank then have a pre-screen after it to catch before my pump. I still don’t go below 1/4 but I’ve done it in a pinch. You were smart on the ball valves I did the same on my pump when I need to clean the screen.
great video and your other video's as well. If you had to put a fuel heater and a fuel cooler where would you put them? And which one specifically would you use as this is what I'm trying to do. ? Thank you in advance
So the whole purpose of this was to one, allow all the fuel in the tank to be used, and two, better filtration/seperation of water from the fuel. Bonus addition of drain out in case of bad fuel... Could that dual port sump be used to feed a China diesel heater?
Thanks for the video. My question is about the return line, is it still going to the sending unit? did you plug the line coming out at the sending unit? where did you get the plugs?
@@PowerstrokeBoiz Nice, thats what I ended up doing too. I made a little bracket but it seemed too flimsy so I drilled a hole and bolted to the frame. I hope nothing leaks!
Nice Video of the installation and product, but FYI you shouldn’t use the pipe dope on any part of a fuel system, tape only reason being, is the it is not compatible to the fuel.
I didn’t use “ pipe dope “. FYI you should look up PTFE is suitable for Fuel/Diesel 😇. Why I haven’t had one leak using it, even with twin fuel pumps now 😙
@@PowerstrokeBoiz Sweet I think I am going to try this out. My 7.3 has 300k on it and has never had the tank dropped. I’m sure those screens in the tank are restricting some flow.
Will this work if I don’t have the sump adapter in tank? I did the HUTCH mod. Didn’t know if the gravity pressure of a sump helps the stock lift pump pull through a filter vs stock sending unit style. Thanks
The effect of gravity DEFINITELY makes less strain on the fuel pump. No point in really doing this unless you go with a sump, whole idea was to be able to 100% utilize the absolute amount of fuel left in the bottom where the hutch mod can’t reach.
Are the KP020 quick connect fitting designed for diesel or just air? I can see they work as fitment but are they holding up on the long run? Thanks for the video
Their used all the time, even in my application for fuel! Look at user reviews on Amazon for pictures of people using it again in a fuel related application. I haven’t had one leak from them. Setups been working on my truck since this video was posted, and still going strong!
If only ever you tube video was like this. Straight to the point. Great information. Short and sweet. No giveaways, begging, click bait or ads.

thanks for the info man. bout to do this mod. 200k and tanks never been dropped. truck has the famous don't go less than 1/4 syndrome lol
It was killing me, didn’t have the money to spend on a FASS..so this DIY setup works, affordable and gets your hand working!

No problems or leaks. Just changed my filters months ago and my goodness it was worth the mod…
Thanks for the vid.. about to do this to my 01 7.3L w/ 300K to prevent dropping the tank haha
4” hole vs. tank drop, HOLE SHE BLOWS! 🤣

Yes it could!
How can I protect the filter better when off roading? I worry about rocks kicking up and taking that thing out
Simple! Just build a mini skid plate for it!
Thanks for the video. My question is about the return line, is it still going to the sending unit? did you plug the line coming out at the sending unit? where did you get the plugs?
Plugged Feed, Using stock return.
Anymore fuel flow? Did it help performance at all?
@@codysmith6276 I’m now able to use my full tank!
Thanks for the video, in the process of doing it right now! Did you use existing holes in the frame to mount the filter or drill your own?

Can I just install the filter with out a sump I want to get rid of the fuel bowl but I still want to have a filter but not in the engine bay
You can feed off stock feed lines yes! Just won’t get 100% empty tank
I can't get the links to work
Did you remove the stock pickup from inside your tank? Great video by the way👌🙏🏻
Stock pick up is still there. I just drilled a hole in the bottom like you watched
I just completed this exact instal and can’t get the fuel to the new fuel filter housing that was just added. Any tips or advice to look for?
Turn the key on to have pump run, open ball valves lol
Is it just me or do the links not work?
@@JoshuaFlinn-r5s I’ve updated the links. Try googling the links
Is the quick fitting on a stock fuel pump 3/8 like the barb fittings you used on the sump?

What size drill bit to drill the hole in the tank
I covered it in the video.
