Another awesome video Landon ! I am a doo guy but think the new cat looks awesome ! I hope it does well , and Cat sells lots of them , we need them in the industry big time ! thanks for the video cheers ~
The mono rail is really tippy compared to T motion. Too tippy in my opinion especially for sidehilling. I don’t particularly like the washing out feeling that the catalyst has
The Ski-Doo Turbo R is 180 hp up to 8000ft/2400meters whereas the estimated power for the naturally aspirated 858 Cat at sea level is supposedly 177 hp
This is great information. I really enjoy trying to understand what little changes to suspension do and how it affects how the snowmobile handles. As I understand it. Making the front track shock softer will allow the sled to climb up on the snow better. Is that true ? Assuming the limiter strap is in the long position.
I believe there’s a happy medium, too soft and I don’t think there’s enough pressure on the snow to grab and climb up. Then same if it’s too stiff then the front of the track digs in first instead of the whole length of the track working to climb up. I run the limiter strap on hole #3 to help keep the front end down and to reduce the attack angle
Landon, What height bar risers are you using? I've been trying stock bars with 1.5 CFR Knuck 2s on my 24 Freeride 146 Turbo R. So about 2.5 inches. It's better than the 3.7 Doo Riser and stock bars for sure. Thoughts? I'm 5'7" 145lbs and a decent rider.
I’m running 65mm (2.56”) Kyber risers with 25mm (1”) handlebars. So total rise is 90mm (3.56”). The height your running sounds good especially if you are riding aggressively. For reference I’m 5’10 and 180lbs. If it’s comfortable to ride and you feel like you’re in control that’s what matters the most
@@MountainStandardTimeWithLandon Thanks Landon. I do like the feel and love the sled. Appreciate your response. Keep up the good work with the videos. I really liked the Coeur Freshies episode. You were killing it.
Sounds like it’s the right height for you then! Thank you and I definitely will try too! Looking forward to some more aggressive tree riding in the near future!
The comparison was cool. Good stuff. Very informative. Thank you.
I appreciate that, glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing the scale info would like to do the same on mine!
It’s interesting for sure! I still don’t know exactly what the end goal is but it’s fun to experiment with!

Thank you! It’s always cool having competition within the industry so it continues to be pushed forward!
I'm a door rider and the catalyst is the first arctic cat I actually liked
Interesting! More than you liked your doo?
Don’t worry buddy, I’m pretty sure they have one left at Valley Motorsport if you act fast!
Hahah no thanks I’ll stick with Ski-Doo 🤘
What hole is your limiter strap set to? it'd be interesting to see the weight change with comparison with that
It’s on hole #3 right now! Next time I ride it I’ll try it out by putting it to #2
How does the catalyst compare to t-motion?

Maybe try a lightweight hood?
That’d be cool!
What kind of power numbers do those make out of the factory?
