Honestly I wouldn't let the naysayers influence the decisions you make on the farm. Sometimes the best decisions for the welfare of all of your animals is to be able to move some on. Let the negative people leave ...your channel will contine to grow regardless.

Agree, I’m a older folk and will say do what’s best for you! Your just a plus in my life. Little Spruce is who caught my heart. ❤ My husband and I couldn’t raise a little Spruce, so we get the enjoyment from your channel. Thank you! Shannon back in our younger days my husband did contracting. When I married him he taught me how to run construction equipment, Bob Cat, Front Loader, Tractors, Skid Steers, any kind of equipment, I was scared spilt less, but eventually it was so much fun. When the kids came along I would volunteer to mow, riding mower because I loved I wasn’t disturbed it became my kid free zone lol 😂

@@KSGetOut I’ll *never* understand how people who watch videos of people simply sharing what they do on *their* property with *their* animals/land think they have *any right* to demand/dictate what the owners do! Watching a video on the internet which you don’t even pay to watch doesn’t give any viewer the right to make threatening demands…not requests, demands. Just bc a content creator makes money off their videos doesn’t mean viewers should feel they have the right to demand especially farmer creators to keep or add animals. When all we see is a 30-1hr highly edited down video every few days & not all the time(& work) in between. Ultimately creators like you guys, Chad, etc have to do what’s best for the animals, yourselves & your situation. All of which you know far more about bc unlike us viewers you live there 24/7! So please…don’t listen to those who are putting *their* selfish desire to watch a certain animal on their screens with *ZERO* responsibility for its care or wellbeing influence your decisions in anyway. There are plenty more of us who understand that such decisions have to be made & respect that y’all will always make the best decisions for your animals as well as yourselves.

Setting up a bro pen is a good idea. You get more land cleared and can keep the females from getting pregnant until you want thwm bred.

You do whatever you have to on your farm and keep or sell whichever animal you need to. It's not up to viewers to force, coerce or threaten you. That just makes me sad to hear someone would do or say those things to you two. You are doing a great job and I pray blessings and favor over all of your endeavors.

I'm really trying not to be critical of them and I realize Nala is their first fur-baby and they are kinda set in their ways when it comes to her.
But I do feel like they have missed so many opportunities to try to de-escalate Nala's tension and correct and teach her, when it comes to the farm animals. It's only gonna get harder as they start free ranging the birds and as their farm continues to expand and the unexpected, uncontrollable demands get to be more and more.
@@kellystephens077 I totally agree with you. Anyone who has seen her with chew bone..food, toy, any aggression like that is NOT acceptable in any size shape or form. And do you think she is going to give up one of these birds when she catches it? Good luck with that. Herc has issues too, but they cant see it because of all the love and praise he continually gets. There has to be boundaries, limits, discipline...not please and thank you. Its like when you have a kid in school and one day you get a call from the principal's office...oh no, not MY child. I left a comment earlier that was on the lighter side, but it is a serious issue, and I do wish them the best.
The neatest thing about goat cleared and maintained land, is that the brush doesn't grow back as thick or as fast as machine cleared land. The fertilization is bonus! 👍
Did You hear Your Cute little nephew Addler the other day, when he was sitting in the truck with Chad? Chad was opening the video, and saying good morning, and out if nowhere, Addler declared, I own this farm! I thought it was hysterical, there were several people that said they spit their coffee out! That little boy has quite the personality! 💞

Jason & Brooke at Cog Hill can help a lot with how far you have to separate your Billy from the girls to keep him from staying in rut. They are working on new pasture fences for them now.

You do know they won't be goatlets forever? You would rather they be banded than have them become father's to some other amazing goats? That makes no sense to me.
@CarolWilliams well they can stay with Kyle and Shanon and have a good life or go to the auction or be sold to anyone and end up being dinner.
The goatlets belong to Kyle and Shanon to do with as they please. They feed, water, provide shelter and give them love. Many other animals could only have it so good.
Even though Kyle and Shanon vlog and post a miniscule amount of time of "their " life, it amazes me how some people think they have the right to say what they should or should not do. When they start paying for their care, food, hay, housing costs, fencing costs, the time that is devoted to these animals, provide the property and pay the property taxes, insurance etc then they can have an opinIon. These are farm animals who live a very good life. Maybe they won't get to procreate but there's more goats at auction that would love a good home.
I don't recall them saying all their male goats were for sure gonna be staying on their farm. I don't think they've fully made a definite decision yet. Shannon seemed to be against their farm being as being a "petting zoo". 36:28

Hi guys, just a thought. It was hard to tell from the video, but you don't want to have a large oak limb over the top of your new shed. If it comes down it can do a lot of damage.

Bruce going at it with a longhorn cow to try to show dominance makes me chuckle, and I think of Spruce. That makes me glad that he was banded. The guineas approaching the fresh water bowls together in mass was really cute.
I think Blu is cautious around Herc because she was new, pregnant and now she has goatlets. She is a cool goat and I think she deserves a chance and some time after kids. My opinion for what its worth! 😅❤

You two are so fun and enjoyable - don’t ever change! As for your animals, it’s your farm, it’s your decision as to how many animals you wish to have. I can’t imagine the everyday work load! We all know Spruce has been adopted by everyone, fan fav! Those two new ones are pretty adorable too!
It helps to bounce ideas off of us. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. It helps to reorganize and get back on track. Have you seen the gas powered T-post driver that Cog Hill Farm has been using this week for putting in over a mile of T-posts?

You should add a teaspoon I think maybe a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to their water jug that helps maintain it from growing bacteria and it's actually good for the chickens Just Like It Is Us or whatever Birds you guys have the guinea fowl and the turkey Val
In a few years of observing, you all will figure out the animal behaviors. Shannon will embrace (not literally, well maybe) the birds, the lizards, the mice and all creatures great and small. Daniel, Arms Family has a Bro Pen. He raises meat Goats. He did show there was 'aggravations' at the shared Fence with the Does at Feeding Time. If you have the Bro Pen entirely separated it would make your lives simplier. Daniel is a great guy, very supportive of fellow TH-camrs/Giaters

It's the way of a farm and the circle of life to think about youngsters being given the opportunity to progress away from the parents. You have to consider your plans for Shady Acres. The goat let's you have now, and those that are imminent, were not really subject to your short term plan but you've embraced them. As much as we enjoy the furrries and the featheries, it is the time taken away from what you planned. Having said all that, they are all stinking, adorable. Keep doing what you're doing the way you do it, I back you. I look at it as you both thinking out loud, not necessarily requiring an opinion. They are like backends; everybody has one. I think you are doing great! I get the issue for Shannon and the birds. I used to be the neighbor's step-mom and I only had issues with the head roosters. They would tear me up if I didn't carry a large stick or metal rod! Never had an issue with the girls. I think you guys need a few barn cats for the removal of the meeses. Shelter kitties would be a nice idea! Cog Hill and Hidden Heights have some awesome kitties! They are nicer than my spoiled indoor kitties!

Many farms/homesteads on YT have 2 goat pens to separate male and female goats with extra space between the 2 pens; separated by more than one fence. A boys grazing area and a girls grazing area is ideal for prevention of pregnant mama goats and 2 additional fenced pasture/grazing land to do rotational grazing so some land can recover and grow while goats are eating the greener pastures.
Please explain rational of locating office so far from running water, septic and electrical, thank you.
