Been building, and crawling for 10 years now. I've been drifting for 5, and the drift community is sooo much cooler. Accepting, inviting, friendly, and helpful than the crawler community. There's great guys in crawling for sure, but drifter guys are just better people in general from my experiences

Scale bodys, a challenging skill to learn and the Rc drift community has to be one of the best communities all working together and helping each other to get everyone drifting together. Been in it 2 years now and still learning. But when you get it right. What a feeling. Most addictive side to the rc hobby. Thankyou for such a great video showcasing the hobby.

I've tried to tell RC fans, RC drifting is the tuning of buggy racing, mixed with the scale accuracy of crawlers, its amazing! Glad you have a hankering for it! It's my favorite kind of RC
Was an execom of a local drift club back in 2006 and that pave the way for me to manage (with some great friends, local and international) 3 big drift communities... Drift RC Central, Drifter Central, and Philippine RC Drifters forums they are all gone now. It was so much fun for me back then, there where no drift kits... everything was DIY, I had AWD TT01's, TA03's, TA05's and when kits finally arrived I sold all of those and started driving the HPI Pro-D then drifting changed and I started building and drifting the HB TC-D and then upgraded to the HB TC-FD but never got to drive that because I went back to work. My last drift kit was the MST RMX2.0s... for an OOB, that was a really good car to drive. The tracks are just to far from my place, so I decided to retire and just concentrate on my first love... rc crawling :)
Just gotta love Nezo! Great video. Cant wait for the next video on your rc drifting journey. Youve done all the right things. Built your own rwd kit with good electronics, reached out to active scene getting good advice from the track locals and being humble about it all the way. Youre hooked now haha - no way back now. alright, now set up a 3d printed hard body with an interior and a huge e brake handle linked to the throttle so when you let off the figure yanks on it :) another awesome video. I absolutely love drifting so far. I got into drifting with a sakura D5 mr kit from the integy website when it was on sale for like $100 cad. Slapped that together with a reefs lp, an nb4 gyro rx for the tx. castle 2280kv slate with a micro x sensored. re purposed a newbright 350z body and gave it a ton of cricut love. next on the list is some new shocks and potentially 3d printing a direct steer mount an link for it. Hoping to see some neat things coming to that chassis!

Ha ha that’s so awesome! I had the same experience about a month ago visiting our local track “The Hobby Shop” in Leander TX. Before I knew it the boys and I picked up 3 YD2’s with numerous upgrades 😬. The community is really some of the best people I’ve met. Very welcoming and helpful regardless of skill level.
Looks like a blast, I could see myself going weekly if there was a spot like that local to me. Especially during the winter! I hope to see more drift content on the channel, it's a nice palate-cleanser.
A good group really improves the experience. And good throttle control helps in all areas of the hobby. Glad you had a great time and thanks for taking us along.

Haha back in 2006 I was stationed in Japan and drifted a 4wd nitro RS3 in a parking lot on base. That sucker ripped!!!! Huge drifts! But zero technical skill haha Can't wait to try rwd when I finish my sakura D5...
Ahh yea! Welcome to the jungle. By jungle I mean inside a warehouse with polished floors. The Zen state is real. A few choice laps and your brain goes into Alpha waves and you’ll find yourself simultaneously very focused but also completely relaxed. When it’s often too hot or too rainy tiny truckin outside, you’ll find us sliding indoors too. Glad you’re giving it a shot and sharing it with your audience. 🤛🏼🤘🏼

Welcome to the finesse side of the hobby. I love crawling but something about stacking in the corners is addicting. If I could give you one piece of advice. It’s don’t change or swap multiple things at once. I swapped almost everything and fought for so long to figure out what was causing my issues. Looks like they got you dialed in pretty good. Keep up the good slides and I can’t wait for you to do a fully scale drift car 👀

I’ve had a MST RMX 2.0 for a little over 2 years now but never tried Drifting it yet 😢. I’m utterly clueless about RC Drifting and in the same boat as you Matt. I have 5 Crawlers/trail trucks and really wanted to get in too Drifting. I live in the UK in a place called Gateshead which is in the North East and dont even think i have a drift track anywhere near me😩. To be honest i’m thinking of selling my Drift Chassis and have just put my brand new Futaba 7PXR up for sale after buying it with good intentions to hook it up to my drift chassis, but i never did and now it sits in its box collecting dust. Afyer seeing this video i really want to get in to drifting but have nowhere to go with it and dont know of anyone who actually does drifting. @@scalebuildersguild i used to work in a Car dealership Matt and ok’d it with the boss to go in on a weekend when no one was there and run my car on the smooth Concrete floor of the workshop cos it was massive. I left the Motor Trade after 23yrs to drive a wagon long distance but didnt leave on bad terms so the offer still stands to go in on a Sunday, but with me not having the keys anymore its hard to get one of the lads to go in on his day off. That Mat would be great but i simply dont have the room. I’m trying to get my pal in to Drifting cos he has a Barn which would be ideal. 👍🏻👍🏻
2:26…that ford lightning on the wall is really nice. You drove good I did this with a axial green deadbolt with granit dirt and cement pad. And your rights it’s very fun. Also my SBR is so fun on wet rodes a fraught drift machine with the open front and rear and center diff.
Matt you should check out scale science drifting in Colorado, Denver Colorado. Awesome place and even better people. Everyone is in it to have fun and get more people involved.
Good times and cool to see the learning curve and process as well as all the people there to help you through it. I'm currently living in a house with a very smooth concrete basement and garage floor. Owning a drift car has certainly crossed my mind recently.
RC Drift is a good time. Wish I had a community track here, but the population just isn't enough to support it. I do however have a DA3S 1/28 scale drifter and a 5'x10' vinyl drift track I can roll out in my living room and run laps on. Highly recomend the Drift Art DA3S to anyone looking to drift at home.
I recently went to my closest drift track an 1.5 hr away. I was there 3 hours and felt like 40 minutes. I ran thru packs ready for a third and everyone else was ready to pack up. I couldnt relate more when you said it was so Zen like to keep going and going. Can't wait to see more drift content in the future

I got a wild hare to try drifting a year or so ago. No tracks near me, no nothing, I do have some room in our shed or in our garage area, it is a lot of fun, even by myself :)
Yeah man glad you had a fun time with it! You're right the time just melts away as you put in laps and laugh with the others. For me it's so relaxing and a nice reminder that the hobby is, and always should be, fun. It's total escapism and drifting for me especially is really meditative. There's also SO much to alignment and setup that I never thought I'd dive into, but here we are 😁😂
I'm located on the opposite end of Lake Ontario as the shop you were at. Some beautiful crawling in the Tug Hill, but no hobby shops or drift spots like that. I might have to start both.

Yeah man glad you had a fun time with it! You're right the time just melts away as you put in laps and laugh with the others. For me it's so relaxing and a nice reminder that the hobby is, and always should be, fun. It's total escapism and drifting for me especially is really meditative. There's also SO much to alignment and setup that I never thought I'd dive into, but here we are 😁😂

I'm located on the opposite end of Lake Ontario as the shop you were at. Some beautiful crawling in the Tug Hill, but no hobby shops or drift spots like that. I might have to start both.
