    Now that’s how you do a video. Let you know the settings, hear the way the target sounds and give you the ID. Really enjoyed this one and very informative.

    Nice hunt! Both the Manticore and the Deus II are capable detectors in the iron. By the way, what you are calling a 'harmonica reed' is actually a 'harmonica plate'. The reed was the thin metal strip that went over rhe rectangular holes on the plate.

    I own both machines plus a Nox 800, I gotta say I’m partial to my Deus ll, I think the Manticore talks you out of iffy signals with too much info, if that makes sense. I dig in central Massachusetts mostly but I do pop down to central Virginia to hunt some civil war sites around Mechanicsville once a year with some buddies. I still haven’t had the manticore on a saltwater beach where my Nox is king but the Deus ll does pretty good, anyway, great video, love the channel!!!

    Hey southern relic I have been looking into getting a manticore currently using a dues 2 does the manticore compete with the dues 2 in iron or does it still false a lot

      I really think with the update and the addition of the stabilizer it really has made a difference in iron. One thing I would strongly suggest is using All Terrain Low Conductors in heavy iron. I only got fooled one time with iron running it the way I was running it in this video.

    I noticed you mentioned All Terrain Low Conductors you were using. Not sure if thats the best program to use.
    I would also be interested to see how you set up your ferrous limits. Were they personalised or just stock?
    The Manticores secret is in your ability as the operator to be the engineer and adjust the upper and lower ferrous limits, in segmented sections, to knock out undesirable targets.

    • @southernrelicadventures
      @southernrelicadventures  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I ran the upper at 9 and lower at 4. I think it ran very well considering the large amount of iron I was hunting in. Recovery was set at 6 👍

      @southernrelicadventures yeah cool. It takes time this machine. The m8 coil is what you need at that site. It is a laser, given new life to some of my spots and given me a couple of bucket Listers for me. Handles emi extremely well, surprisingly great depth, mainly due to being able to crank the sensitivity up near maximum. Hardly has come off in the last 6 weeks👍

    Good work pulling all those nonferrous targets SRA. Shotgun shells can be a PITA, but you have to dig them or risk leaving a nice button in the ground.

      @@southernrelicadventures Hi SRA, hey I've been using a slightly modifed version of your Sweeper program for several months. The major difference is that I set a tone bin from 73 to 88 and set the volume of that bin to zero. What is does is silence most of the iron falsing. It makes those mid tones jump out but it also allows for the high conductor tones to come through because they aren't competing with those iron falsing squeeks for your attention. Of course you will miss targets in the 73-88 range, but you are only using this at a pounded site where there are no easy targets left. The other important step is to lower the Reactivity to 1.5, even in the thick iron. I sometime raise it as high as 2.5 in the machine gun iron but for the most part you really need the low reactivity and you need to swing slow to get a peep from those iron masked targets. Using those settings I have pulled a couple of coppers and silvers from sites that I was amazed there were any high conductors left. Give it a try at a site that you've worn out over the years and see what happens. Be prepared to dig a lot of 22 shells as well 😁or just learn to leave those in the ground.

    I own both like them both in my area the Manticore is deeper with the 11” coil I’m running the 9” on my D2 found my first silver half this year with the D2 found a couple with my manticore air tests with rusty nails prove nothing to me I dig all kinds of coins with nails in with them

    • @southernrelicadventures
      @southernrelicadventures  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Mark for watching and all the support ! You are right you got to take it out in the wild, air tests while they can provide very valuable information the machine can act differently out in the wild that’s why you got to put those tests into real world situations. Thank you for being a part of the channel and sharing information !
