I’ve never felt so enraged by a crowd cheering and laughing. The delight on their faces to witness the decay of a fellow human being. Nasubi seemed like a wonderful person, so full of energy and optimism. My heart goes out to him.
@monetlongschlong4886 No. I have social anxiety and agoraphobia so it's a struggle just to step outside my house. It sucks, but it's nowhere on the level of what this guy went through. Being forced into isolation, shown to millions and humiliated... both are bad but his is definitely worse.
Imagine having the most traumatic experience of your life being broadcasted to millions of people, publicly available to all. I can't imagine how Tomoaki Hamatsu must have felt, but I am happy that he has since been able to move on with his life, becoming a comedian and scaling Everest 18 years later. I hope he is happy now, succeeding in life. Also, the wikipedia page of his mentions "In April 2020, Hamatsu tried persuading people to cooperate with the self-disciplined stay-at-home order during the wake of the initial COVID-19 outbreaks by citing his own personal experience with self-isolation." I am disgusted by the fact that people chose to not self isolate at the detriment of others, when this man was essentially coerced into it 😭
That's just straight up abuse. Dude needed to carve a way out, or someone needed to hide him a letter in his 'prizes'. Which is what makes me think none of it is real.
You should see the Denpa Shonen segment getting a comedian to do mine diffusal. There's another good short series of a few episodes getting Tsukitei Hosei (Yamasaki from Gaki no Tsukai) to meet Itallian mafia people
@Stacey Kirkbride Not what happened to him, his perspective was real albeit heavily warped. I meant the packages coming in, the mail-in sweepstakes, etc. I imagine companies would let him 'win' just for branding sake, or fans would create fake ones for him to enter, so they could sneak him in messages like a normal fanbas typically does. That's relatively what I was attempting to assign as probably fake.

Unfortunatley Japanese internet seems to be secluded in their own bubble, barely interacting with the rest of the world. There’s also their culture of avoiding any sort of conterversy and negative talk (which is one of the reasons why Japanese war crimes in World War 2 are still kind of a taboo topic there and why you mention them as “clueless”) so sadly it’s highly unlikely that this video would go viral in Japan

First off - Amazing video, Edited very creatively, and the storyline flowed very well Second - What happened to this guy is very sad. It shows that greed is a very powerful thing. Its terribly heart breaking to see his reaction when the box was opened and he was in pure shock and dismay. Third - i wish the video wouldve continued on showing how he is to this day. Does he have any social problems? Has he easily switched back to a normal civilian lifestyle? Is he mentally okay? Answering these questions would help bring a final conclusion to the storyline.
Nasubi was so mentally broken after the show, he was afraid to talk with people and didn't leave his house for a long time. He even couldn't wear clothing cause he got used being naked.

the fact that they upped the stakes to prolong his torture without even informing him or asking if he wanted to go higher proves they couldn't really give two shits about real consent. (and really, who's to say they wouldn't try to convince him to stay regardless? i'm sure there'd be some attempt to manipulate or bribe him back into the show so they can milk him even more..)
all in all, it was definitely not REAL consent, but it also wasn't entirely non consensual, hence why i believe it was dubious consent ^^ (i hope this made sense..)
The craziest thing to me is that, this is a real guy idk why but the idea that people can be cruel enough to fn torture another person for entertainment is so foreign and inhuman to me, after all that he went through i truly hope he managed to have a good life and die peacefully.

I’ve never felt so enraged by a crowd cheering and laughing. The delight on their faces to witness the decay of a fellow human being. Nasubi seemed like a wonderful person, so full of energy and optimism. My heart goes out to him.
As someone who also lives a relatively isolated life, I feel for this guy. His situation is obviously worse, of course. Poor baby 😢
At least you can go outside, not like this guy that they are torturing and humiliating
@@ServeraServera0 Look at the second-last sentence Tiger wrote there.
baby?
Are you isolated by choice

Dude I remember first learning about this and being shocked that more people weren’t aware of it. People watch shows like Black Mirror and see it as a bleak example of how our future may look, not realising some of those concepts are a reality in other countries.
i have never been so actually enraged by a "tv show" everyone involved in his torture are beyond disgusting and i strongly believe they producers should be in prison. he did not consent to what had been done to him and they should be properly punished for it.
100% agree
same thoughts, but Nasugi should say No at certain point instead of smiling and say yes to everything. they found the perfect victim for torture...
@@f000d0 while I entirely do agree with you’re point you must also understand the situation the man was in. As Brandon stated in the beginning, he was a starving comedian. Thus he probably didn’t really have a better alternative, so he was desperate and hopeful, thinking that this show would have been his big break. Unfortunately, this led to him to be very willing to do what the people wanted, which ended up torturing the poor guy. Those fuckers took advantage of him.

Exactly
people in japan speak japanese?
Unfortunatley Japanese internet seems to be secluded in their own bubble, barely interacting with the rest of the world. There’s also their culture of avoiding any sort of conterversy and negative talk (which is one of the reasons why Japanese war crimes in World War 2 are still kind of a taboo topic there and why you mention them as “clueless”) so sadly it’s highly unlikely that this video would go viral in Japan

First off - Amazing video, Edited very creatively, and the storyline flowed very well
Second - What happened to this guy is very sad.
