This game it has a really weird soundtrack. It has a lot of jazz tracks, a beautiful ballad and it has a salsa beautifully performed. I love it. A truly underrated gem.

Back in the day you got your gaming news from gaming magazines. The photos didn't do the game justice and I was biased to 2D graphics which was the reason I got a Saturn over the PS1 to begin with.

Clockwork Knight 2 (video game) known is Japan 🇯🇵 as Clockwork Knight: Pepperouchau’s Adventure-Last Volume is a side-scrolling platform video game 🎮 developed and published by Sega for the Sega Saturn. It is the sequel to Clockwork Knight, a title also released for the Sega Saturn. A second sequel, the working titles for which included Clockwork Knight 3: Pengin War and Clockwork Knight Puzzle 🧩, used gameplay similar to the Bomberman series, but never made it past the beta stage. Another sequel, titled Knight N’ Knight, was scheduled to appear on the GameCube, but never released.
It's interesting that Clockwork Knight 2 came out the same year as the first game. I have heard that both games were intended to be sold as one but the developers ran out of time before they could finish. I never got the Clockwork games for my Saturn but I always wanted to. I love the model 2 arcade version, but my saturn is bundled with the saturn port. I'm used to pop up since i have the original wipeout on ps1. I really want to give clockwork knight 1 and 2 a try, if I can find a reasonable price online.
So we never get to see the villain who was walking through the vent at the very beginning of the first game? That's a shame. It's weird that they clearly had a character model & everything, but we'll never know what it looked like! I wish they'd at least given it a cameo appearance at the end here or something.
The western releases cut out all the between-level content. I used to know a guy who put together a rough translation of all that stuff, but I don't think he'll ever create a translation patch.
I enjoyed both Bug! and CWK but both had problems. Rayman and Oddworld showed that it was still possible to make a successful 2D franchise and they were pure 2D. Sega simply spread its resources too thinly on mediocre games at this time rather than focusing on bringing its existing IPs to Saturn. Just imagine how great a Saturn Streets of Rage title would have been.
No, it's captured from an emulator. And honestly, the colors are actually a little darker than they should be because I couldn't record in the correct color range without dropping frames.
The text displayed between levels was entirely cut out of the western releases of the game, so there is no official translation for that material. The little bit of text in the ending FMV is translated in my video. Press the "CC" button to get the English subtitles (I also subbed all the lyrics to the music in the game).

***** SSF is the only accurate Saturn emulator at the moment. 0.12 beta R3 is the version you want. Vsync introduces some pretty bad input lag, so you may want to leave it off. You can use programs like NVIDIA Inspector to lock the framerate to 60 so you can disable auto field skip (frame limiter).
Commander_Riker Mednafen is an impressive first attempt at Saturn emulation, but you gotta be joking. Compatibility isn't nearly as high as with SSF. Sound emulation is promising, but you'll still experience a lot of interruptions in some games. Some games do have graphical glitches that don't show up in SSF. Mednafen is also locked into 320x240 resolution with bilinear filtering enabled. There's no way to change this in the config file. I dont think you can fake transparencies either.
This game wasn’t as easy as the first one. Hardest part was trying to get ALL of the cards, especially on the donkey levels. Still one of my favourites from when I had the Sega Saturn 😁😁

+Flag Bag I can't say so with certainty, but if it isn't, it's damn close. I got all of the cards and uncovered every secret I could that wasn't a level skip (if you skip, you can't collect all the cards).
adrian munoz They don't seem to be related to getting 100% of the cards. In my first test run, I think I missed around six of them and still got the exact same ending.
+Saturn Memories I think +adrian munoz is mentioning the pictures of Clockwork knight that kids drew that are being shown during the credits. These were exclusive to the Japanese version of CK2, and they are indeed pictures kids sent in to SEGA back then.

I would recommend using OBS or Shadowplay if you can get them to run properly. Unfortunately, neither one seems to like my new recording rig.
What emulator you use Saturn Memories?
***** SSF is the only accurate Saturn emulator at the moment. 0.12 beta R3 is the version you want. Vsync introduces some pretty bad input lag, so you may want to leave it off. You can use programs like NVIDIA Inspector to lock the framerate to 60 so you can disable auto field skip (frame limiter).
Mednafen has surpassed it now as far as playability and input lag. Only issue is its limited to NTSC format games
Could someone translate this gem?
There’s an English release already.
This game wasn’t as easy as the first one. Hardest part was trying to get ALL of the cards, especially on the donkey levels. Still one of my favourites from when I had the Sega Saturn 😁😁
Fiesta de los amiguitos 🤣.
Hey, I'm running a show called Series Review on my channel and was curious if I could use the gameplay from both Clockwork Knight and Clockwork Knight 2 in it. I will be sure to credit you in the video credits and description.
+angrytaco I'm cool with that. You're welcome to use the footage!
+angrytaco You may also want to use the Clockwork Knight Puzzle footage as well.
Thanks for that! I didn't intend to use it, but if you're fine with it then its even better!
Is this a 100% run
+Flag Bag I can't say so with certainty, but if it isn't, it's damn close. I got all of the cards and uncovered every secret I could that wasn't a level skip (if you skip, you can't collect all the cards).
Do you know what happens after you collect all 32 cards? Apparently there's a secret code, Thank You.Saturn Memories
Flag Bag Yes, you can see the code at the very end of the video. It just enables level select.
59:22 uhhhh... what?
hiroko nakayama, a personality of japanese TV program Game Catalog II
@@theescapologist2110 ok, thank you for the context.
the drawings at the end are they from kids or the staff who made this game? There cool also what are the secret comands for as well?
+adrian munoz It's just a level select code that you use at the title screen. Not the best of rewards. :\
then what about the drawings?
adrian munoz They don't seem to be related to getting 100% of the cards.
Peter O'Hanlon I see. I've never played the US version of the second game, only the first.
So this is where toy story comes from...
;)
I see, do you think that you going to play through virtua fighter 2?
+shrek is kewl Possibly. I'm not very good at fighters though, so I don't know if I could make a VF2 video that anyone would care to watch.
+shrek is kewl If you like VF2, I've got a video of Anarchy in the Nippon up. The game was supposedly made by ex-Sega employees who worked on the VF2 Saturn port. I had to cheese my way through the last two opponents, but it still turned out okay.
