    My entire department in private industry works completely at home and did before covid. We get a lot of work done and a very productive part of a huge international organization. The government had many many jobs that do not require long commutes and sitting in an office.

      @vinceonyoutube you missed the point. Working from home does not mean someone is lazy. And the federal government had this as an option since the 90's. I was in. High-school class of 93. My mom worked from home all my high-school years for the usda 3 days a week. And later it was encouraged for more federal employees.

      so you think that getting paid 2 years for sitting on your butt doing nothing is unfair and heartless? If you cannot figure out a new job option when all your bills are paid for you and you are getting guaranteed income for 730 days straight, I think the problem lies with you as the worker who is not putting in enough effort to get a regular job like the majority of American citizens. FDR's goal to push a huge increase in government jobs was extremely unethical, stupid, and has cost this country now trillions of dollars since he has enabled this era of reckless government spending and federal branch expansion. The federal government was NEVER meant to be this big according to the ideas and ideals of the founding fathers of the U.S., and fixing the disease of overspending and government waste is going to be somewhat painful naturally, but giving a nice 2 year FREE paycheck is absolutely insane. I actually don't even agree with my tax money being used for that, but you have no right to complain, even as a government worker if you are getting paid for literally doing nothing for years of your life while you can easily figure out another job with literally no stress.

      Fine with me. Since my office started working from home, I have had to work 45-50+ hours a week constantly. When we worked in the office full time, I rarely ever worked more than 40. When everyone is in the office, there is a lot of water cooler talk, hallway talk, stopping by someone's cube/office talk, going to a local restaurant for 90 minute lunches, and leaving computers at the office at 5pm never to be near them again until the next day. When teleworking, all of that goes away and people work more, which produces more deliverables for others to have to work more just to keep up. Since my office mandates Microsoft Teams, supervisors are keeping better track of workers when teleworking than they can when in office. Because productivity went up by teleworking, our leaders decided to cut cost and get rid of a lot of office space (including extra utilities and furniture costs). No sense in using taxpayers money for nothing. We have 1,300 people but now only space for 700. To go back to the office full time, we will need more taxpayer money (and probably go back to being less productive). If that's what people want, fine with me.

    • @PicassoPicard
      @PicassoPicard 4 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      So you are happy with Private citizens shoveling out money on reckless spending that does next to nothing for this country and is highly inefficient and redundant, where we even have multiple departments performing the same job simultaneously or playing tennis passing government documents back and forth between all the red tape, for no other reason than to waste your money?
      When was the last time you applied for any government regulated license, government documents, passport, etc... How long does it take for the government to do their job? Usually at least a month or longer isn't it? That is a serious problem that needs to be fixed, and all the tangled mess of government agencies doesn't help. Imagine now all the agencies you never even heard of, because they do not have public interaction and they are throwing away billions to trillions of your tax dollars every year on inefficiency. If the public interaction is extremely bad, you can only imagine how bad the hidden agencies are
      The obvious solution is to transition government workers over to the private sector so they can have meaningful jobs that actually help society especially the U.S., not just spend money wastefully. I don't even know how you think you can justify the amount of wasted money we use in the U.S. on needless government jobs and red tape. Have you even lived in this country for any extended period of time at all? Have you had to deal with the government directly at all? They are criminally slow and highly wasteful, and everyone knows and sees it every single day.

Also it's a brainless business model, buy patents and develop them a little and resell. He's a little smart but also super evil as he intends to lay people off without explaining how he plans to reintegrate them into the job market. I call Vivek Ramaswamy Hoover 2.0. Elon stole Tesla, lied about his degree, stole his brother's accomplishment of making paypal, and faked the entire Robotaxi event. No kidding. The robots were RC and the bus has ZERO ground clearance. I think for this reason he's like the Theranos CEO in terms of grift.

Everybody going back to the office means going back to water cooler talk, hallway talk, stopping by someone's cube/office talk, going to a local restaurant for 90 minute lunches, and leaving computers at the office at 5pm never to be near them again until the next day.... which equals less production which equals 40 hour work weeks, not 50+. The only problem is we became so productive working from home that we cut costs by cutting office space (along with utilities and furniture) to a point to where we now only have space for 700 but have 1,200 (and need 100 more just to keep up with our projects and programs).

And number of hours worked depend on what agency. I'm in a STEM-related agency and before telework I probably worked OT 20 weeks in 10 years. Since telework, I have probably worked OT 120 hours in 4.5 years. Telework means no more water cooler talk, hallway talk, stopping by someone's cube/office talk, going to a local restaurant for 90 minute lunches, and leaving computers at the office at 5pm never to be near them again until the next day. The government offers work-from-home options to ATTRACT workers, similar to how the military offers free college education. Most people with 5-10 years of work experience prefer working in the private sector, where they are paid more. Vivek is stupid.

    I don’t understand Americans. I wouldn’t have cared to understand them, but they are very big, economically, to be ignored. Their government is essentially going to be run by a bunch of oligarchs who have very conveniently distorted the public discourse around election through their money power. One has literally bought a social media platform to use it as a big amplifier for his billionaire friend to sit at the helm. Let’s hope for the best.

    The world of the Vatican and the answer Pope Francis said “Dear Quote Investigator: A visitor to a large business watched as numerous workers moved purposefully along the hallways into offices. The visitor approached the leader of the company and asked:
    “This is such a busy place! How many people work here?”
    “How Many People Work Here?” “About Half of Them”
