My drummer and guitarist of the garage band I was in back when this was released were METALLICA heads and I was not… that’s ok ….felt for them losing Cliff but not a fan..back then.
Once my drummer played the cassette
..NEM played…I listened and was blown away!!
I told them then and there that song was a hit!!
They fucking laughed hard…
To this day they remember!

That’s not 100% true cuz James said in an interview that he wrote the song for a girl that he liked at the time, but had never had the courage to tell her that. Now James changed the story behind the song cause he didn’t want to keep singing over and over a song about a girl. BTW Metallica forever!
