people usually overlook Levi and perceive him as a cold person when in reality he is the most human character in this whole series, the character who feels the most and has gone through more than anyone else ever could. He has seen his loved ones perish countless times, while he has always been the only one to survive. When his mother died, when Farlan and Isabel died, when the Levi Squad died, when Erwin died; you can see how devastated, desperate, and afraid Levi looked. I just hope there is a time Levi can truly rest and smile in this cruel and merciless yet beautiful world he lives in.
The more tradegy and despair you witness turns people colder because now they know how cruel of a place the world can be. Levi learned to control his emotions since a child the reason why he seems cold or cruel looking in all reality he’s a decent person one who kills those who kill those precious to him but not a bad person as to kill for no reason
I don't think this is true. Since start of AOT, everybody talks about Levi. It's always him. Every AMV, every fanart, every hentai adaptation... always Levi. No one is talking about Eren even though he is the main character. And since beginning, I like him way more than I like Levi. Even after season 4. You may look at him as an crazy kid who became villian, but to me, he is the guy who know what he really wants and will sacriface everything to fullfil his goals.
Levi is a very well written character. He has one of the most interesting and deep personalities in the series. Isayama has stated that Levi was essential to the story, since he is directly involved in the main character's journey. He serves as a mentor and is essential for the character development of other characters like Eren, Erwin , Historia, Armin, etc. So he is crucial to the story because without him, the story would not have progressed this far. He is the most consistently written character, because he is the same from start to finish. Levi has not changed at all. He's one through everything and come out of the experience, not trapped in any issue from his past. He doesn't have any development because he was introduced after having gone through all the experiences in his life before the show. He doesn't seem very interesting because he has no conflict with himself, or any perverse motivation. It is the strength of his character that he has come out from every experience as the same person, without surrendering his core ideals. I'm gonna do a brief character analysis here cause Levi deserves to be understood. And yes, this is only a brief surface level analysis. I haven't even explained all the depth that this character has in this comment. Here we go. Levi was left as a child in a place full of the worst kind of people, so he had to fight and kill to survive, which goes against his principle and value of human life. He did not have his strength all the time, he had to work very hard for it, and fight to rise to the top. He is Humanities Strongest Soldier and the strongest person not because of his strength but his mental endurance. He was taught to kill as a child who was grieving his mother, and was also taught to conceal emotions by Kenny, which is why he often comes off as emotionless or heartless when in reality, he is the most emotional character. Levi had many experiences throughout his life, which have all shaped him in different ways making him a very complex and layered person. Levi sees meaning in everything. He sees his strength as having a meaning and feels that it is his duty to use it for others which is why he fights in the Survey Corps. He fights to give meaning to the lives of the comrades who lost their lives fighting and to honor their sacrifices and to carry their dreams to the end. That is why he asked Kenny why he left, because he believed that his strength was not meaningless and he wanted to know if Kenny thought it was. As a child, Levi was abandoned by Kenny. This caused him to believe that Kenny left because he wasn't good enough and that he was always disappointed in him, which was why he fought him with such rage and later asked him why he left him as Kenny was dying. Levi is a strong person, but he does not define himself by his strength. He does not like to be called "Humanity" Strongest Soldier" because it devalues the strength of others. He feels that everyone has their own strengths and they are only who they are. He even tells Armin that he is not Erwin, only himself. Levi's primary rule in life is to live with no regrets, because if we start to let our regrets rule us, the only thing left for us is death. He follows this by not making the large choices and instead following someone who can. But over the course of the series, Levi is forced to make the most difficult choices and has to realize that he has to take them in order to win this war. He is forced to take all the hardest choices. He has to choose between two lives, he has to choose to kill his friends, and had to make the most difficult choices all the time, because they always fall on his shoulders. And then he has to live with those horrible consequences. In the beginning, Levi may not have done that in S1, more content to follow, but he knows he can't do that anymore. That is his subtle development. Levi from S1 is different than S4. And definitely very different from the Levi in ACWNR. Levi is someone who has no dreams of his own, due to his circumstances. He chose to follow Erwin and help him achieve his dream because he thought that it was a selfless motive that he never considered. He has always lived and fought for everyone but himself. He can only show others that he cares about them by being useful in some way, hence his issue with Kenny. He was surprised by Erwin because in the end, Erwin's intentions were not purely selfless. Levi has never taken the selfish choice, the easy way despite him having the full rights and reason to do so, but he always does the right thing despite the fact that he could be so angry and do wrong things. Also I could write another long comment about the nature of Levi and Erwin's complex relationship, but that's different. Levi and Kenny's conversation also has a very important note about their induvidual characters. Kenny believes that every human needs to be drunk on something, be a slave to something in order to live. But that couldn't be farther from the truth for Levi. All he's ever done is survive. He has no dreams of his own. He only fights to live and exist. It could be considered a toned down version of Nihilism, where he feels that dreams are not as important and life is worthless. But Levi can still see the value in living a life simply for the sake of living. Because he values life itself, something he's had to struggle for. He carries everyone else's dream, and simply exists. That's the difference between him and Zeke. Levi values life deeply and is empathetic and caring to those lives that matter to him a lot. But Levi is a slave, though not in the way Kenny suggests. He is a slave to his power. He fees like it is his duty to fight, that it is his duty to save people, to honour his comrades, and help humanity. He is damned to keep fighting in a world where he won't die, but everyone he loves will, and will leave him alone. But he keeps doing it anyway, because of his selfless and compassionate nature. Levi isn't also your regular "hides your emotions" kind of person. He is fully willing to let people know that he cares for them. He has been taught to hide his emotions, and his past is something he does not like to bring up, but he can and will when he situation calls for it, like when he talked about his past with Kenny. He grabbed the bloody hand of a dying soldier despite his aversion to dirt. He smiled at the 104th in relief when they'd completed the uprising successfully. He can appreciate and compliment his subordinates when he feels like they deserve it. Levi expresses himself through touch, because words do not come easily to him. The soldiers can feel the concern he has for them subconciously, and this leads them to trust him deeply. He is a very straightforward person. Even though he hides his emotions, he doesn't lie about them. He doesn't mince words. He lays it down straight. What you see is what you get. He doesn't pretend to be emotionless, he just conceals his emotions. It's two different things. And he doesn't pretend to be some sort of overly righteous person. He values life, and does not pretend that it is some sort of good thing when they are forced to kill people. He doesn't try to dictate the choices of others, or tell them what to do. He tells them to make not the right or wrong choice, but the choice that they won't regret. Levi can read people very well and understand everyone. He was able to read even Zeke to some extent, though he didn't know his true motivations, which is a sign of his empathetic and understanding nature. He serves as the voice of reason to many characters like Eren, Hange, Jean, Armin, Mikasa, and many more. Though he is so emotional, he is able to put them aside and concentrate on the matter at hand. But he can show a rather sadistic side when faced with someone who has killed many of his friends, like Annie and Zeke. And he is a very brilliant tactician as well. Not important, just wanted to mention it. Levi has lost everyone that matters most to him. Despite his power, he can never save anyone who truly matters when it matters most. But he can carry their dreams forward till the end, and that's what he does. Levi represents strength, survival, sacrifice, selflessness and living without regrets, all important themes of the story. He is the closest thing to a hero. No matter who else falls, Levi will always be there, steadfast, loyal, dedicated and devoted to the cause, ready to avenge the lives of his fallen comrades and carry their dreams to the end, putting their souls to rest. His strength is like a curse to him, because it forces him to live on and watch as everyone he loves leave him. But Levi will always be there to provide closure to his comrades, fight despite all the pain, to give humanity a better chance. And that is Levi Ackerman, Humanity's Strongest Soldier.
this right here. I literally have tears in my eyes while reading this because it's all I ever wanted to say. I just couldn't find words. Levi is the only character I could never compare to any other which is why he's my absolute favourite. I hate coming across comments saying he's only good looking and badass and that's why people like him or that he's a poorly written character. in my opinion it's just not fair that Levi is reduced to his looks and skills when there's so much more. like you mentioned, Levi is the core character in almost everyone's development and people often overlook that. Levi isn't supposed to go through a character development because he's already been through events that defined him and made him who he is. that's why he's literally always the same person and true to himself. and I appreciate his character so very much I can't even put it into words. thank you for this.
@@philjoseph3252 I know....I have seen read manga...it just no matter how much badass he is ....it just bad feel to think he is not able to get close to someone .....and have a tragic life
@@Anonymous-pl7dd You clearly haven't involved to the fandom enough. I've seen a lot of comments thinking how boring and bland character he is. Some state that he only exists to attract the fangirls when he is not even canonically handsome
@@mels7652 i actually thought he was least handsome and that everyone thought him to be top tier. Originally felt nothing toward him. But learning more about him. He seems alright.
Due to his tragic backstory he’s endured a lot of pain I believe he just knows how to keep his emotions in check that’s why he barely cries and when he does he lets it all out because he’s bottled up and endured that pain for so long crying doesn’t make you weak it just means you’ve been strong for too long enduring that pain sadness and grieve for his fallen friends and comrades
@@fallin5707 I do simp for him but not just because of his looks, it's because of how good written his character is, this man literally suffered all his life and is still fighting, I saw the character development he had throughout the seasons, Seriously, he's one of the best characters out there. And for the toxic side, it's not just the Aot fandom, almost all the fandoms are becoming even more toxic.
Not a god or an immortal monster. He's a regular human, a human with a lot of pain and scars. That's why we love him, cause he's the only human who can fight on this unfair battlefield and brings hope to humanity. btw thanks a lot, the video was awesome🖤
i dont understand people who say that he isnt a good written character and that he didnt go through hell like, did we watch/read the same attack on titan?
And that is one of the reasons why it was better to cure Armin instead of Erwin. If erwin would be alive i dont think Levi would be so committed to kill Zeke
My heart is both broken and inspired. Levi is someone to look up to, he has gone through a lot and still shows a cold mind and incredible resilience. Levi Ackerman, I'm with you.
Just like Eren. He silently burdened the guilt, blame, sins for 4 years and didn't make any complaint so that his friends wouldn't take part in anything
He is a Ackerman, the power he holds allows him to stay alive in countless battles, however that in turns ended up causing him to see more deaths than a normal soldier will, and lost far more people than most ever will, Levi's life is a tough one, and he is walking a path much more painful than most character will ever experience.
A man with terrifying strength, could've been anyone he wanted, could've been like Kenny, selfish, power hungry, but he dedicated himself to a greater purpose, even though all he knew was loss and pain, he carried on, in the most selfless way, he does it for them, for their sacrifices, for their dreams, and for giving a meaning to their lives, for HUMANITY'S FUTURE, he makes it his mission, because he truly is a HERO Levi Ackerman symbolizes human survival in all meaning "humanity's strongest"
But at the end of the story he still can be what he wants or turns out to be like his mentor and teacher (aka Uncle) Kenny in demanding power and another popular title beside his name someday when he get much older like his uncle been.
Humanity's strongest, and for what? The people he loves die around him anyways, but he has to keep pushing forward because he believes his decisions and strength can give those deaths meaning. When Kenny asked Levi what he was drunk on, I think that would've been Levi's answer.
I'm not sure how many hours you've spent to craft this masterpiece but I'll make sure to spend as much time watching it. It only gets better after every time. Thank you again.
Ya ikr it feels like eren is just a fill-in but then at the same time his sufferings weren't to be overlooked anyways. But no one in their right mind would say levi is just a simp magnet, strong beyblade, careless about the lives of others, and proud. If they do then they a frickin idiot! The dumbest of all r those! ☹️👀👀✨😎
Eren is much better than Levi in terms of character. He's the best written character in all of anime but 100 000% sure Levi is cooler and more badass. They're both awesome in their own ways. It makes me sad that people compare them and say that one is better than the other meanwhile they don’t understand eren’s character and only see levi cause he’s the most badass in aot. It show that you don't understand shit.
All the titans are bastards killing people like their nothing and enjoying it. Zeke was the worst. Levi is the true hero of this story he gave humans hope and never betrayed there trust in him. Levi deserves a spinoff after the anime were he finally gets to be happy.
I agree man. everyone feel pity for zeke and talking about How Levi was bad towards zeke even he has a reason. .Levi has to live without sunlight , moonlight as kid.He had no one.He still lose his friends.I don't think any bad childhood will be any worse than growing up as a kid in the most troubled parts of the city without knowing what the sun and the moon are.But this childhood is not reasons for him to kill innocent people. He is true hero in story.
@@brtn3231 I couldn't believe how those people who feel pity on Zeke, can forget Zeke enjoyed throwing rocks to the soldiers and used Levi's love for his Comrades by turning them into mindless Titans, just because he had sad backstory. I think Historia had the worst parents in AoT but she doesn't kill like Zeke. I don't enjoy to see him getting cut by Levi but I don't feel pity either because it makes sense Levi so mad and frustrated with Zeke's action.
@@novitabasaria7282 i fell bad for his childhood but Grisaha was brainwashed too. So it is natural that he has childhood like this. And Everyone has a bad childhood in Aot.But it's not an excuse for him to enjoy killing people. Reiner killed people like him.But he feels regret and sadness.Reiner wants to suicide. What I'm angry with is that Zeke 's fanboys make absurdly grudges against a character like Levi just to make their favorite character good. They call him a mindless slave who obeys every order, even though they know that the slave thing is a lie. They make stupid comments, forgetting that Levi is a soldier, so even though I have some pity for Zeke, it is thanks to them, i don't fell pity anymore.
For captain Levi, there truly was nothing left in the end. A very emotional and thematically fitting montage to one of the greatest anime characters of all time
Levi is my favourite char of AoT. I don't know how anyone could endure the trauma and losses like he did, and still push on and fight with such determination, skill and endurance.
I can bet in the entire history and upcoming animes no character can ever match Levi's level. The pain he suffered and the way he handled it he is indeed humanity's strongest soldier
@@_DashingAdi_ yo levi is born without knowing who is his father, and he is still a child when his mother has been suffering with illness, no money, no food to eat, can't even do anything about his mother's deadbody in front of him. Then came his uncle and taught him to fight and left him suddenly, no citizenship, has to live in underground and finally made two friends Isabel and falcon who also died on the first day of survey corps. Then he lost his squad, erwin and hange. But still fighting for their friends dream. He had no happiness in his life since he was born. Even before titan attacked.
@@Indigo518 Pretty sure many in the underground were born and did not have parents they were all poor. And they were not special unlike him so they died living a shitty life in the underground. And literally everyone in the scout regiment lost their friends he's nothing special in that too. But they also keep fighting and it's not like they also get to be happy.
@@_DashingAdi_ I'm talking about aot main characters. And even though he went through all of this he never let his emotions control him and fighted till end. Everyone has their pov and I'm sick of people saying levi is only famous for his looks like he is mediocre looking guy it's his personality and fighting skills makes him more handsome and attractive to us.
I remember when I first saw him I was like: "And they want me to believe that THIS GUY is like the main badass? What a joke!". And I couldn't have been more wrong. They built up his personality so perfectly. While everyone was always shifting directions, while all the world was crumbling into complete chaos, this man always stood up for what he believed in and always upheld his principles. A true hero. A true legend.
Talk about Levi being overlooked negative... Kenny played a huge role in molding Levi to be able to take care of himself and survive in the slums without Kenny Levi wouldn’t have survived he was on the brink of starvation you can tell Kenny had a soft spot for Levi when he called him his pride and joy
This edit gives great insight into Levi's life, about what he went though and about his way of thinking. Your hopes weren't in vain, I really like this edit! 🥺 Great work, it really paid off! Malina ☀️
The transitions between the scenes are so good HOLY SHIT !! I hope your video blows up you’re so talented 😭😭 The best Levi edit I’ve seen. The ending made me so sad
When they were torturing the MP, Levi admits that he doesn't expect anything for tomorrow: doesn't expect the people around him to be alive; doesn't expect to eat; doesn't expect to live. The only thing that keeps him going is creating a world without titans and if he has to become a monster or psychopath to ensure titans are exterminated, he will. He'd much rather humans hurt each other than them being devoured by titans. The saddest part is that he mirrors real life veterans and civilians in warring states/countries. They sacrifice everything for what they think will help humanity but no one remembers their pain; when they come home, there isn't a place for them. What is left for someone like Levi when the fighting is done? He's been fighting since he was like 7, it's the only thing he knows. Sometimes the worst part is living with yourself after everyone is gone and the wars are over.
Levi was the most noble character. He wasn’t in it for any reason other than seeing through to the cause of protection people. He had wholeheartedly devoted his heart.
he truly has nothing left. it's not fair. he's always carried so much weight, never showing how bad he was hurting inside. he will keep moving forward no matter how many of his comrades and loved ones he loses. the sad part about being humanity's strongest is that he will end up alone. this amv is a masterpiece, wow.
The man who could do anything with his power chose to use it for the sake of others👍 More than his raw physical power, the pure unwavering mental fortitude of this man is the thing that astounds me
I just realised, even in his very first scene he loses someone. The scene that supposed to present the character to us shows how he loses a friend from his squad. And he is the character who end up losing literally everyone in his life… Even his life started with the death of the mother. It truly tears my heart apart.
Okay this is one of the best amv I have ever seen.. levi is such a well written character.... And totally suffered the most in the entire series my man literally lost everything... But still goes on... Isayama really did an amazing job making such a complex character now that the aot is about to end all I want is his happiness I guess that's too much to ask 😭
Dude, you made me cry. Levi is my favorite character not because he could be simped, but because of his complex story arc in AOT. I LOVE IT SO MUCH, you described his character perfectly. 😭💖
Levi: The immortal who taught us to give our 100% in fair or unfair battles. Levi's character is complex who has suffered a hell of worse still fights like a beast for a given promise. #Champ4AReason #AOT
I actually started watching AoT because of Levi but he exceeded all my expectations. He's gone through all that pain but his faith in humanity stayed unwavered. His will and dedication are beyond those of ordinary people. Although he's hardly ever made this gesture of "dedicating his heart", his actions speak for themselves. He could have done anything with his strength but he decided to give it all to his friends and their dream. Never have I seen such a selfless character. Thank you, Isayama, for bringing Levi in your and our world☺The thorny path he had to come making hardest choices and accepting consequences made him who he is, made him the strongest one. Your video shows it all. Music is so epic, it embodies Levi and gives me goosebumps. It was astonishing, thank you😊
By far my favorite in AoT. There’s nothing better than a good guy that’s stronger than anyone and anything. He’s lost everyone but still keeps fighting. A true badass in every way
I agree , all his true fans that love him for who he is in his heart are still with him not like fake fans who leave when his hurt and not able to fight like before.
I've been crying too much lately... It’s so hard to hold back tears watching this...You essentially made a short summarising Levi’s life... This is a work of art. ❤️
I love this video. Levi is thr strongest character & he's burdened to outlive his comrades, but he must continue to push forward to give their sacrifices meaning. It's also why when Historia gives him a punch after becoming queen, all he does is laugh. His squad along w/ Hange & Moblit survived and for a split second he didn't have to regret the choices made. Think about it, he defeated the female titan alone, while before this, Eren was thinking of transforming, and his squad was decimated after. So when Levi says "The only thing you're allowed to do is not regret the choice you made". It's to forgive himself because maybe they would be alive. But for the Manga people. Those 2 panels in chaoter 139 encapsulate why Levi is the best character in AOT.
Him holding the soldier hand will always be my favourite. From underground thug to assuring dead soldier that his death is meaningful and he will be carrying forward his legacy..... From wanting to kill Erwin to finally telling him to die in peace... From being emotionally wrecked by his friend's deaths to telling his friends and squad that their deaths will be part of him. Levi has come a long wayyyy..
I like the focus at the end on the line "Your deaths will have meaning." It's established early on that Levi's most hated thing is meaningless death, and so his ultimate goal has been, ever since the loss of Farlan and Isabel, to make sure that his comrades did not die in vain. I usually hate the stereotypical stoic badass characters in media, because 9/10 times they're beyond boring. Levi, however, has a great character at the root of his stoic, badass personality.
Levi is the definition of what aparts good characters with great characters. His power levels, skills, mentality, mindset, the fact he lost everyone in front of his eyes and never complained. His character is just so well written you know exactly what to expect from him
Levi is one of the characters I feel the most mentally, I relate to him more than anyone else. Other than the whole looking good badass thing. And it hurts me to see where he is at now, since it reminds me of where I am.
People always look past how well written Levi as a character is just because he’s hot. I think we need to really appreciate his depth and impact on the watchers/readers. My English teacher would be proud.
Lord have mercy... That was incredible man! You really went all out on this one! The transitions, parallels, dialogue, everything man just... phenomenal! Hopefully it's get some more attention soon bc it definitely deserves it!!!
Omg 🥺 amazing 💓 I want to show this to the persons who says Levi's has no character and he's just a very powerful beyblade. They just ignore Levi's character in order to elevate the characters they love. Thank you for this beautiful Levi Amv♥️
I didn't think it was possible for me to love Levi more than I did before, but this video did such a great job showing who he is and what he's been through...he's my favorite. Like I'm going to start the manga because I've heard he's in it more than he's in the show plus I'll be able to know for sure what happened to him. This video is *AMAZING* and you should feel very proud of yourself for having made it.
Even though he is just an anime character, but in my heart, I have respect for him as a real captain, he is one of my favorite anime characters so far.
I watched it many times and cried sobbingly every time I watched it. This video is a video that shows everyone who doesn't understand and doesn't know Levi, who he really is, what he went through, how he suffered and how strong he is. Thank you very much for this masterpiece.
i have only respect for the work you've put into making this. It's everything I could ever want from a Levi AMV. Seriously, it's one of the best things I've seen in a long time. Levi is such a complex, amazingly written character and you showcased that here perfectly. Thank you for your hard work.

Your comment is really worth to read. It's very amazing how you express Levi Ackerman character
(sorry for my bad english)
this right here.

Levi acts like he doesnt care , but deep inside he was broken.
Isayama confirmed he's the most sentimental character, he just doesn't show it due to how he was raised and well everything he's been through.
Deep inside he cares for everyone 😢

He’s an impressive character indeed!
Wissemoi Agreed
He is inspiring and iconic character.
Yes! Well said 👏
I agree so much :)
Levi is truely the only one that had to suffer the most but still kept going without complaining...
A man with terrifying strength, could've been anyone he wanted, could've been like Kenny, selfish, power hungry, but he dedicated himself to a greater purpose, even though all he knew was loss and pain, he carried on, in the most selfless way, he does it for them, for their sacrifices, for their dreams, and for giving a meaning to their lives, for HUMANITY'S FUTURE, he makes it his mission, because he truly is a HERO
Levi Ackerman symbolizes human survival in all meaning
"humanity's strongest"
You have spoken 👏👏👏
YES
I am crying 😭 your explanation is really good thank you ma friend🙏🏻
But at the end of the story he still can be what he wants or turns out to be like his mentor and teacher (aka Uncle) Kenny in demanding power and another popular title beside his name someday when he get much older like his uncle been.
"A completely harmless man who has failed to die"
a soldier shall not die untill he has given meaning to his life.
Levi Ackermann, what a legend
Humanity's strongest, and for what? The people he loves die around him anyways, but he has to keep pushing forward because he believes his decisions and strength can give those deaths meaning. When Kenny asked Levi what he was drunk on, I think that would've been Levi's answer.
I totally agree !
Wow yes that is his "drunk"
I believe he was drunk on hope for a better humanity
I'm not sure how many hours you've spent to craft this masterpiece but I'll make sure to spend as much time watching it.

I don't enjoy to see him getting cut by Levi but I don't feel pity either because it makes sense Levi so mad and frustrated with Zeke's action.

Too bad they cut that out in the anime
Yeah that’s not found in the anime

In other words "all Levi's pain in one video"
This Amv is sooo good is not just about Levi killing Titans it’s a about Levi’s backstory dope Amv...
thanks !!
Thank you! Levi is something else.. This panel in the 139 gave me chills..

i can't stop replaying this part, it's too good..
I absolutely love that part too! The choice he had to make...
Levi's grunting voice showing his anger at 5:14 AHH brilliant what a masterpiece
haha thank you I loved it too when I added the voices
Simple! I see Levi! I click.
Levi, however, has a great character at the root of his stoic, badass personality.

i have only respect for the work you've put into making this. It's everything I could ever want from a Levi AMV. Seriously, it's one of the best things I've seen in a long time. Levi is such a complex, amazingly written character and you showcased that here perfectly. Thank you for your hard work.
Thank you for your amazing comment. I’m so glad you liked it !
Really Canon and epic! It looks like a movie trailer!!
