There is also a locktite Purple that is used for fine threads. I use it in gunsmith issues all the time.

I actually had to use teflon tape on one of my Slift pivots. No matter how hard I cranked down, it would be loose by the end of the day. No idea why that happened because the bushing is properly tuned but teflon tape fixed it no problem

@@jakeflipsbalisongs i think he just needed new hardware, i upgrade my hardware to keep them tight without locktight, a good long thread will hold better than a short screw

I gotta play devil's advocate. I looooove locktite as long as I can use a screwdriver on both sides of my pivots. I don't have the time to constantly tighten screws, and my balis eat concrete alot. Yes, if you over apply or just slop it in there you are going to create problems. Less is more. Just need enough to see it on the threads. Youre better off having to reapply than putting too much. As long as a tiny bit is on the threads, the screw will spread it

My main point isn’t necessarily that loctite is bad to use (although the title would suggest that). I more feel that teflon tape does the same job as loctite but better

Just use teflon tape method imo
    That method is fire

there is also a yellow Loctite, I'm pretty sure its for water-proofing screws, could be wrong though

im very new to flipping, and i never even thought about using loctite because i thought you had to boil it to remove the loctite, so i just use teflon tape even though im probably wrong about the boiling part, teflon tape is just easier to remove and stuff (probably wrong i've never used loctite)

I’ve heard this about Teflon tape - do you mean the blue thread locker ptfe tape from the hardware store or something more specific? Ty!
