iOS 12.4 and newer now allows you to migrate from your old iPhone to a new iPhone without needing an iCloud backup or an iTunes backup. If you ran out of iCloud storage and you don’t have a computer to use iTunes to backup your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch then this video will show you how you can backup and restore all of your information to a new iPhone.

Important note: if your wifi has a password, you need bluetooth enabled on both devices for the initial prompt. I didn't know that and it stumped me for way too long

I love that it's getting easier and easier with new technology to do a simple task as transferring data from one iphone to another one. It used to be a pain in the butt to do that via a computer and itunes

Literally! That’s what I’ve been doing for last 7 years as I don’t have iCloud and it literally used to take about 2 hours! Will try this when I get new phone soon! So this 100% works without using iTunes or iCloud?

This was amazing. Be good to really explain how to use the direct cable process. And that once the transfer has happened, the SIM card has to be also transferred from old iPhone to new iPhone.

@@juliandiaz9604 Hey Julian, it just popped up as I started the Configuration process of the new iPhone again. I think I restarted it and put both side by side on the table really close and at one point it popped up in the process.

I love how easy and simple this process looks and you were VERY informative! Two things I am wondering tho 1: what is the application ur using in order to do this and 2: being I want to use one phone for my small business and the other for full time use. Am I going to lose network/service etc. On the old phone? Or will my old phone work completely the same and perhaps just put service on the new loaded phone etc.?

I think you have to completely wipe your new iphone and it will start from the setup

Hi AAron :) I'm going to attempt this tonight. Do you then need to call apple to activate your new phone? what about the sim card?
Final step would be swapping the sim card, assuming your old phone has the same type. I upgraded from a 7 plus which had the same size sim. Swapped it over and it worked on my new iphone 11 no probs. No calls were necessary. However, I do use Verizon and purchased the unlocked Verizon version of the phone from the apple store. That means its ESN should already be logged into verizons computers making this as easy as it was. If I would have had a different carriers phone or just the unlocked with no carrier assignment, this process would likely have involved another step getting the esn logged in with verizon.

It has to have Bluetooth on the old phone and WiFi on had a issue too but Bluetooth must be enabled on old iPhone
