Very nice preservation Matt. That wood cleaned up beautifully. Those old school tool makers were true craftsman and artists.

They really were! They were the first spark of the tool industry.

Hi P & J! Happy 4th! 🇺🇸. Thanks for the compliments. I'm actually working on the toolbox as I type this! Dumb rust! People need to take better care of their things 😁

@MattsGarage1791 probably an underfunded class with prehistoric tools of the past. But they are a classic!

Very nice. I had a few sets of those years ago. I have modern ones now. My fingers hurt watching you scrape the wood. I use to do that for doing wood work in boats back in Fl.

Thanks Rob. Looks great, still holds tight. Not sure if I'll keep it yet...can always use more clamps,!

Yah, the scraping is rough on the fingers for large pieces.

Preserving is just as important as restoring! Another great job, Matt!
Sorry I'm late getting here again... I have got to stop having so many TH-cam tabs open at once lol. I need a different system, ha-ha.
Thanks for the shout out. You guys have a great week!

It certainly is! Always giving an item only what it needs to be 'saved' from the scrap heap of history! How are all of your furry family doing?

@@MattsGarage1791 Absolutely! Doing good. It has taken almost two months to hear Polar Bears bark, but he finally let one go the other day lol.

Thanks! A lot of times these old clamps are fairly beat up, but this one is solid and ready to be put back to work.

Lovely clean up Matt 👍🏻. Oddly enough, I've never used a wax finish before, must go out and buy some and give it a go.

Hey there Alex thanks for stopping by! My favorite combination for wooden handles or tools in general. Just feels great in the hands, looks good and protects.

I use tools to redo autos . You restore tools using tools. Great job as always !

Restoring autos is a million times larger scale! Similar in approach, one piece, one component at a time. Steel, rubber, fabric, paint, glass, and more! Full respect for complete auto restorations and the time/discipline and patience it takes!
