I worked out of mobile office van for many years. It was like an office cubicle on wheels desk computer, printer , files , papers multiple coats and rain gear. Three things kept me sane and organized. Velcro , rolls of anti-slide shelf cover , and zip ties. Nothing new to you. Happy Trails.

There is some door seal glue you can buy, I bought awhile back that I can't remember the name. But its a special glue that keeps your seals on tight without permanently gluing them on.

When I had a campervan I had a screw driver just for putting all the cabinets back together. All the screws would slowly work their way out of the timber. I live in an SUV now so there's no cupboards to worry about anymore 😆
You can put a seal where the two doors come together that’ll help a lot to like when they’re closed the section that runs up the middle where they come together you can put a seal in there
Long time watcher first time commenter, if in a few weeks the top and bottom seals have trouble sticking, sand the metal first with a low grit sand paper, make sure no dust/debris from the sanding remain, and try again. Sanding will increase the surface area for the glue to adhere to.

I had a 3.5" foam custom cut at the furniture factory here in town. I could try the denceness of the foam first. Its very comfortable and has a 20 year garantie. Its set me back $190 and was way wort it. I sewed the cover myself and it turned out great.

Chrome, this may help you feel a little bit better about discarding that gray layer. I think that was the memory foam part of it, and when it’s cold out that stuff gets hard as a rock. So maybe you’re actually doing yourself a favor by getting rid of it.

Should spray water onto the back doors to make sure they are still shedding water properly. Also I think there are some products that help soften the old rubber seals.
@@christinamann3640 yes its pretty much the same material but bungee cord is more durable I’ve paid 4.99€ for 4 units in a pack, i think its cheaper that ponytail elastics and more durable, for mr chrome here it could be made of titanium and he would still find a way to brake it 😀

You're using the mattress incorrectly. The white side is the side you sleep on. The gray part of the cover is on the bottom. That is why it is so hard. My friend made the same mistake,

Dumb question, Why not just but A regular single sized mattress from a store like Leon’s or a mattress store the type that would go into your home your bricks and sticks house?? And also I’ve noticed on some American van life TH-camrs they blocked out their license plates. Just noticed that you don’t do that on your van.
Because my van bed is a different size than a standard mattress, when we build a van, we are limited to how wide the van is, and most traditional beds are longer than mine. as for the license plates, they hold no personal information. If they did, they wouldn’t let you put them on the front of your car so everybody that you drive by would have access to your personal information. That would be silly.

You can use the foam you took off the mattress to pad the shower so it doesn't get broken. 🚿

My GF bought an RV specific queen size mattress for our trailer. OMG, is it comfortable! Much better than what came with the trailer.
put the gray layer back on and just cut out a piece where you sit. then you still have a comfortable bed.
I like the idea of mounting your shower J5 could probably do that. For your cabinets suggest you try the Jeep style hood latches.

I used the D shaped weather stripping on my 97 GMC savana rain was coming in. I even weatherstripped the 3rd stop light & voila no more rain😊
I am lazy person dude i used inflatable bed and pop up tent on my van camper expedation/ experience ,, but it saves me a lot of space 🙂

You can try to extend the life of your new ones, by inserting some closed cell foam inside the rubber to help it keep its shape
Have you considered putting a swivel on your passenger seat and using a lagun table mount for your desk space? Then you can have a thicker mattress.
