I WAS THERE, TOO!!!! I didn’t know you would be there. If I had seen you, I would have stopped to talk. I have to admit, though, that I was there for weaving and spinning tools and spinning fiber more than yarn….so I passed by a LOT of the yarn only booths. Cochineal is a bug that looks like roly polys and lives on cacti. The dye from them is also called carmine. It can make some vibrant reds, as well as that pretty pink.
Absolutely loving your travelling yarns adventures, Natalie 🩷🩷🩷🩷 What a delightful collection of yarn-porn 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 I get so excited when I see you have another video come up in my TH-cam feed. We have some great dyers in Australia, but the sheer volume and the talent in the US absolutely makes me drool. Keep up the good work sweetheart, and looking forward to your next video. 🎉❤👍
How cool to have this video some up in my TH-cam feed! I had a shawl on display there in the Purple Lamb Fiber Arts booth. She commissioned a *crocheted* assigned pooling project using some of her yarn. I was not able to get out there, but I was straining to look in the background of your video to see if I could see her booth, lol. This was super fun video and I will for sure check out some of these amazing fiber artists. Gorgeous colorways on display here!
Winterstrom Ranch Fiber Mill is the only public mill in Texas. They have a mini mill and a full size mill so they have the ability to do a wide variety of your fiber processing needs.
I have never felt so envious and relieved at the same time that I live very far away from there down here in Australia. I would spend all of my bill and mortgage money if I had the pleasure of attending this yarn show. 🥰
Thank you so much for filming this! I heard about it on Friday and it ended up that i couldn't go! I was bummed. So thank you! Now i feel like i didn't miss out as much!
It was great to see all the beautiful colourways and the garments that had been knitted or crocheted with the yarns. Such a great festival for you to go to. Thanks for the video Kent and Natalie.
So fun to see all the booths I walked right by! Thanks for taking to time to say hello and let us get a picture. Looking forward to seeing where you go next. ❤
It was so good to meet you. If you don't remember Kara and me we talked in the Red Stag shop, and we're in the video at about 3 minutes with😊 Kara's wheelchair. Finally getting to your video. So beautiful!
So wild how I was there for the full 3 days yet I managed to still miss things. I love getting to see the festival through other eyes, to include you & Kent.
I saw your video on Fiber Fest last year and that made me go this year! I had a great time and it was right around my birthday so it was such a fun time
I thoroughly enjoyed the walkthrough of the festival. I wanted to attend this year and was sad I couldn't go! This makes me excited to plan my visit for next year.
I love your videos so much! It’s fun when you show these events or places you go, and it makes you feel like you’re actually there. I’ve heard you mention membership in a lot of your videos. Do you have a link that tells you more about that? Thanks!
That was fun, thanks for sharing. Wild to think it's just a small part of all the fiber shops, dyers, spinners etc in the United States, wow! There's so much out there. Have a great week friends, blessings.
Getting ready to go on the NYC Yarn Crawl on the 29th. Want to go to three yarn stores in Brooklyn. I got some really nice hand dyed yarn at Argyle Luminous Brooklyn. I was able to make two cowls and two hats. I'm looking to find a cable hat pattern for beginner, as I've never done a cable hat before. Can't seem to find one on Ravelry. I'm going to make another reversible cable scarf again, this time with three cables instead of four. I want to make a cowl with same reversible CB8 cables, but not sure how many stitches to cast on to knit in the round. The pattern I originally came up with used 47 stitches for long scarf 3 stitches in seed stitch on each side and 3 in-between the cables the cables are done with knit 2 purl 2 knit 2 purl 2. So you put 4 stitches on cable needle knit 2 purl 2 from needle then knit of cable needle. This makes the scarf reversible. I was thinking I would need 8 cables for a cowl, how many stitches would I need to cast on? Can anyone help with that. I did the original scarf with size 8 circular needles.
So many beautiful yarns! I would not be able to take my credit card in there, only cash!! 😁. Taking my CC would be dangerous!! 🤣💰💰💰Thank you for sharing!
that was a great recap. i cant help but wonder if you understand the reference in "barbie does dallas"? it is a reference/play on words to an adult film that i think was big in the 80's. I remember hearing the name when i was at high school. the color is awesome.
Absolutely! There were many crocheters there! I would google fiber festivals in your area. you can also ask at your local yarn store (if you have one). I know we have several festivals and yarn crawls throughout Texas.
Hi Natalie. Question, I love watching these videos of yarn, but, after a while, doesn't the yarn start to look the same? By the way, love the haunted mansion line.😊 stay safe.
Honestly, a little bit! We're thinking of switching up our next festival video to be more vlog-style to keep things fresh. However, I keep discovering new-to-me dyers and it never gets old to hear their passion and what inspires their colors!

No way! Maybe our paths will cross again!
Thanks for the info. That's super cool!
The cochineal is a scale insect in the suborder Sternorrhyncha, from which the natural dye carmine is derived.
Cool! Thank you!

That black orchid is beautiful
While I was sad I couldn’t attend this year, I’m also super glad I couldn’t 😂 I would’ve gone full bankrupt. Gonna start saving for next year 😅
First booth you're showing me something I didn't see. Love those botanical socks!
Thx for another fun video and exposure to new dyers.

Wow, thanks for the video. How could you ever be able to decide which yarns to get. Such gorgeous colorways! I could spend the day there I think. 🧶
I have never felt so envious and relieved at the same time that I live very far away from there down here in Australia. I would spend all of my bill and mortgage money if I had the pleasure of attending this yarn show. 🥰
I really like the way your filmed the yarns in the booths. It is really nice to see the yarns close up and slow progression through the colors.
Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for filming this! I heard about it on Friday and it ended up that i couldn't go! I was bummed. So thank you! Now i feel like i didn't miss out as much!
What fun! Thanks for "bringing" us along.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It was great to see all the beautiful colourways and the garments that had been knitted or crocheted with the yarns. Such a great festival for you to go to. Thanks for the video Kent and Natalie.
So fun to see all the beautiful colourways these dyers brought! I especially love the richness of Red Stag Fibres yarns ❤
It was so great to meet you on Saturday. Thanks for being so kind and awesome!❤
Love watching a yarn festival! Really enjoyed how you filmed it and had your purchases to show close up at the end. Glad you had a great time.
So fun to see all the booths I walked right by! Thanks for taking to time to say hello and let us get a picture. Looking forward to seeing where you go next. ❤
I always watch and enjoy your yarn festival blogs especially DFW. I appreciate how you show and give info on the yarn’s available. Thank you 👍🏻🧶

Assigned pooling class next year? Sign me up!! What fun to watch you shop😊
Thanks, Natalie, for taking the time to actually show the yarns, not swish through them so fast that the camera can't even focus. Nicely done!!!!!
So wild how I was there for the full 3 days yet I managed to still miss things. I love getting to see the festival through other eyes, to include you & Kent.
Right?! I found so many more things on my second day!
In the knitting world, we would hold that silk and the cashmere together to make a sweater. All the yarn was really nice! 😊
It was so much fun to knit with you on Saturday! Thanks for sitting with us!
Beautiful!
OMG I want to go here!!!
Hello from Mounds, Illinois. One day I will get to go, my son lives in Texas.

So glad you had a great time! We try really hard to make sure everyone has a wonderful experience ❤
You might need a trailer behind your van for all the yarns. :)
I saw your video on Fiber Fest last year and that made me go this year! I had a great time and it was right around my birthday so it was such a fun time
Aww yay! Happy Birthday!
I thoroughly enjoyed the walkthrough of the festival. I wanted to attend this year and was sad I couldn't go! This makes me excited to plan my visit for next year.
There ar so many beautiful dyers out there. Thank you for sharing your tour. How can you resist buying from each one.
I cannot resist 😅
I love your videos so much! It’s fun when you show these events or places you go, and it makes you feel like you’re actually there. I’ve heard you mention membership in a lot of your videos. Do you have a link that tells you more about that? Thanks!
Thanks for the great tour! I couldn’t go this year so great to see new shops and the regulars! Love all what you purchased!! Thanks so much!!
I just went down a rabbit hole on red dye! Great tour.
What a wonderful adventure!!!!
Beautiful yarn! It would be so hard to choose what to buy. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you !!!
Charming Ewe is Grapevine TX, works with On The Lamb yarn shop. These are my wife Kara's peeps. :)
That was fun, thanks for sharing. Wild to think it's just a small part of all the fiber shops, dyers, spinners etc in the United States, wow! There's so much out there. Have a great week friends, blessings.
Sooo, sooo much!

That's a safe strategy!!
Red Stag looked to be my favorite, although all booths looked fun. Red Stag showed my favorite earth tones!
Red Stag has a solid palette!
Que belleza tanta lana por dios cuantos colores hermoso todo gracias por compartir 😊 🙏🏻🇺🇾🇺🇾🇺🇾

I took Kara back on Saturday and I ride my bike up to Coppell TX and back.😊
It was such a great festival. Thank you for letting us know about it. Wish I could have met up with you. Always next year!!
Oh I hope so next year!
This year was my very first DFW FiberFest and I really enjoyed taking classes and SHOPPING!!! Talks about yarn OVERLOAD❤
Ooh happy first year! It can be overwhelming! So much to take in 😍
Good morning Natalie! My sock set arrived it’s gorgeous!
Wahoo!!!
I love “going” to this fiber show with yiu and all the new yarn you got. I almost want to de-stash some of my yarns so I can get some new ones 😍🥰
Why not do both 😜
I'm doing the same, I'm allowing myself to only buy as many skeins as I can destash...so far I'm up to 27...
@@ltessier7473 yay 👏👏👏
I would be very interested in the prices you had to pay for the skeins. I live in the Netherlands and I would like to make a comparison.
can people that crochet go to these? I have tried to knitt and for the life of me can't..lol.. if so, how do u hear about these shows?
Absolutely! There were many crocheters there! I would google fiber festivals in your area. you can also ask at your local yarn store (if you have one). I know we have several festivals and yarn crawls throughout Texas.
“Smutty pumpkin” tell me you haven’t seen Have I Met Your Mother without telling me you haven’t seen Have I Met Your Mother 😅
I apologize to all the HIMYM fans 😅
This is what the dye sounds like: ko-shi-neal and it made from little red insects.

It’s FIBRE.....😖😖😖
Lol! Yes most places except here in the US!
