As a black African we should accept the reality that our culture has some if not many elements of barbarism. We are not only brutal to others but mostly to ourselves. If we are to look for justice in this world, we need not look outwards but inwards.

You can’t argue stats but historical racism has a lot to do with it. Poverty and hunger will make a man do terrible things regardless of color. Here in the USA we need to start keeping repeat offenders in prison because they ie black Hispanic and white criminals destroy neighborhoods and recruit young gang members. The world has to follow what El Salvador’s president has done to fix this global problem.

@@birdofthenight Yes I do agree that personality has its role in behaviour ,of which some may be out of the bracket but look at the statistics of violent behaviour that are associated with our culture. We need to accept our stupidity for us to change. I mean even look at our social codes, you always have to prove to the other that you are the alpha male.

South East Asia is equally poor too. But these things rarely happened or not at all. I think it has alot to do with culture. We are poor, but we tried our best to work hard and earn money legally

I know that for a fact! I have lived in South Africa and I now live in the Philippines as a US citizen. I feel safer here than I did as a truck driver in the US where I even got shot at once. Not saying it's all puppies and rainbows here, there is crime for sure, but because the family unit is stronger here, so is ethics and morality.

    • @jamesboth3785

@telcobilly true , the struggles and sufferings here in South East Asia is different. Ofcourse it is there sometimes even more than in other places, but the people are resilient, and we try our best to meet our needs . I'm talking for the rural sides where over 70% of the population lived. In the cities, I think it is the same everywhere

    • @JPinShenzhen

Completely different factors. The imperialism and colonization from the West over centuries, slavery, oppression of the majority, the violent mixtures of cultures, etc. have all cooked up this mess in South Africa. It has nothing to do with "working harder". You think Asian people are just harder workers? Rubbish. Your comment is as racist as the white people in here blaming "blacks".

I agree giving everybody voting rights without education, with a lot of hate still implanted in society created a an outcome that was predictable from the start.
Everybody will vote for color , even if your color isn't fit to govern.
They will not blame their government but blame the white man for their misery, while totally blind themselves to the fact that these white man build up South Africa when many tribes where just fighting for pieces of land with spears.
Rhodesia has shown what happens when the black population gets their wish and all the white people leave.
It ends with a dysfunctional country and a ruined economy...
I went to SA for my Ranger diploma and was part of the black group while being seen as a white man, i am brown btw not white.
But in SA everything that is not black is a minority and considered white.
Every move we made outside of camp, going to the doctor, going to the atm or getting some not allowed shopping was done under the escort of a person with a gun.

Nearly 35 years have passed and it seems little has actually improved for its citizens. I have to say the country looks beautifully stunning, and I’d love to visit as a tourist some time with my wife, but as a couple in our 60s I can’t see it changing in our lifetime, and we’d be too afraid of being victims of crime if we were to visit.
I’m sure we’re not the only people (we’re from the UK) from Europe or elsewhere who are put off from visiting for this very reason, and millions of £s, €s, and $s that could fund improvements for the people of South Africa will never enter the country while the violence and criminality continues as it is.

There have been countless wars throughout the African continent. There's many on going atrocities still to this day.
You're using conflicts of the past to somehow prove a cultural tie in and there isn't.
Your argument is nonsensical. Why doesn't Ireland look like this? Why doesn't Germany? Japan? Vietnam? Cambodia?

Practice Invasion and Armed Robbery of another country and use the resources to take care only of your white people. This involves jobs for life, homes, healthcare, education and a pension for life. Use high school drop outs to educate the blacks, marginalize them in their own lands, and you get uneducated bitter people. What could go wrong? I spent part of my childhood there so I can relate to the daily hardships a person there faces. I was of course lucky to escape. What pains me to see however is how some international media, wealthy south africans and tourist paint the country to be this unrealistic heaven. When in reality it's a cruel hell with many severe hardships that the outside world will never understand.
