Hey buddy, scooch over, Daechwita is a masterpiece. I love how you could only laugh after watching. That's how most of us felt haha. There are a LOT of cultural references in this MV. I recommend watching DKDKtv explanation video after you do your own analysis to dive into those references. They explain some of the songs that have cultural references that a lot of foreigners might not understand. These include a lot, but not all, of the rap line songs, which is why I'm bringing it up. If you do: Ddaeng, Baepsae, Spine breaker, UGH and Idol please watch their explanation videos, either with the #couchcrew or on your own. Love your reactions Roscoe and can't wait to deep dive into Daechwita with you.

Have you watched the Idol explanation video by XCeleste? If not, I highly recommend it. Amazingly they hit on completely different things (except for the rabbit in the moon). DKDKTV deals primarily with the cultural aspect and XCeleste deals with all the BTS related details. But yes, DKDKTV is a great source of information. 😉👍

This is a masterpiece! I remember Yoongi saying in an interview that the production team initially wanted a simple set for this MV. But he already had the vision of shooting at this set where (from what I know) many kdramas have been filmed. And so they did it - because Yoongi gets what Yoongi wants.

Also there is him talking about the whole mixtape - but Roscoe could watch only the explanation part of Suga talking only Daechwita, if someone gave him the time stamps where it happens between. If he wanted to do that..
You can see the coffee truck which Hobi got for him for the shoot which had his pictures on it rather than Youngi’s. That caused some hilarity amongst the others. Nowadays Yoongi doesn’t drink much coffee but then he was virtually taking it intravenously. He drinks decaf now.

From start to the end it was all Suga's work meaning he wrote, produced, came out with ideas how his mv should be done and with all the expenses, he paid all production since it's his own mv creation. Of course there are many people involved and assisted in making this mv project.
The musical production is phenomenal- the use of traditional instruments and mixing them with a trap beat, mmmm delicious! The beat is pretty monotonous but Yoongi uses his voice as an instrument to add color to it...he's a genius!😌

I was never into rap much my entire life outside of a handful of more mainstream songs. I am a 90s alternative/modern rock girl, but I remember the very first song of BTSs I heard, when Hobi started I said to msyelf, "Oh no... oh no, this isn't good..." and then Suga started and I said outloud to an empty room, "Oh fuck..."

For introductions to the rap line i can highly recommend the 3 songs: Persona by RM, Shadow by Suga and Ego by J-Hope. Each one has a music video.
These 3 songs are inspired by Carl Jungs threory of the self - the Shadow, Persona and Ego.
Each song perfectly captures the different styles of the rappers and it's all around a must watch trilogy with a deep meaning!
Would be best to watch them in the order of: Persona - Shadow - Ego

This is a PERFECT intro to Rapline right here. Because our Yoongi, our AGUSTD is truly a King with his tongue technology. You're going to enjoy All three of their differences in their lyrical flow and cadence. Imo you could say that Hobi is my bias of the Rapline. His lyrics and his flow are very energetic. I'm even willing to say it's almost like he wants to "kill you with kindness". That's why my fav raps from him are *EGO* and *1 Verse* respectfully. I also have mad respect for both Suga, and RM. Namjoon's style to me is philosophical, poetic, and he's trying to teach ya a few things about himself and everyone else in the world ( I'm a sucker for his mixtape *Mono* ). Then there's Suga aka *AGUST D* , his lyrics cadence and flow literally scream "I will put all naysayers in their place, and flex on myself a little like the humble king I am in the process". Thank you for coming to my TedTalk lol. I can't wait for you too react to the Cyphers, Ddaeng, Tear, and UGH!! 💜💜🌸🔥

Yep, that is how the majority of ARMY reacted when we saw Saechwita for the first time.
There is also an explanation vid for it by DKDKTV (don't worry it is not as sad and devastating as the Spring Day explanation). Suffice to say there are a lot of cameos and also symbolism that stand for the other members of BTS and ARMY.

Daechwita was a traditional marching song it played when the king was coming or when the king was presence...it has a lot of historical references like Joseok dynasty who used to decapitate people.In one werse Suga aka August D says " shoving the past the rise box .The king had actually put his son in there where he died .so many cultural references that make sense only if you have a Korean friend to explain it to you .I love this song Daechwita. IF YOU WANT TO DIVE TO THE RAP LINE MAKE REACTIONS TO THE CYPHERS NO1 NO2 NO3 NO4 (I think my favorite is no2 Cypher)❤ ;) 😉
