    I bought my Tundra because of Toyota’s bulletproof reliability throughout the entire brand. Being made in The USA also influenced my decision. I’m not sure exactly what options or features other buyers are looking for but I use it as a truck and don’t need every fancy gadget available to distract me while I’m driving. I really like this truck and hope to have for 20 years.

    For those that are wondering what the adjustable headlights are for...its for when you're towing or hauling a load heavy enough that it weighs the back of the truck down. When that happens the front of the truck will point towards the sky. At night it would make your headlights useless as they will not be pointing on the road. Also your lights will blinding all the cars in front of you. Touche' Toyota 👏🏽👏🏽

    I came from 'trusty rusty' a 2002 4x4 Tundra, original owner, to my new 2019 very similar to the one here (extra trim pkg that has color match rear bumper corners, and regular power mirrors) and I like the mix of features. It does not feel dated to me. Heck, trusty rusty didn't even have a USB port but it was still perfectly fine when I sold it and bought the new one. It had it's first real 'broken bit' at the age of 15 when the power steering unit and brake master cylinder both began to leak. Everything prior was maintenance. So 17+ years from now, after AOC, I will be in the market for a new ox. But for now, the Tundra fits the bill without being an IPAD with wheels.

    A truck is a truck. Despite some dated interior quirks that do need to be addressed, I am fine with the Tundra looking & performing the way it is right now, especially if it means having a column shifter on lower trims. Don't fix what isn't broken, unless you plan to pull a Mitsubishi and discontinue everything except SUVs/CUVs, which are practically over saturating the market to the point where not only do I see less sedans/coupes, but I see less pickup trucks. The Tundra is the best damn truck you can buy (despite a steep price tag); it don't need no stinking redesign right now!

    As a diehard GM until I bought my 2018 camry a couple years ago and my 2020 Tundra, the new GM products wont come near to the reliability of the Toyota. I have always loved Toyotas and their legendary reliability, but never owned one out of GM pride. Our Camry never had a single issue the whole two years, where ad a friend of mines new at the time Malibu, had been in the shop 2 or 3 times, granted it was simple things, but things that shouldnt have gone wrong in a new car. I still have a 99 Suburban, and several 73-87 chevy trucks, but the last good solid GM truck was the GMT800. I may lose a little power, comfort and Towing, but I gain diehard dependability. A lot of modern trucks have incredibly busy interiors and a lot of technology, which is both good and bad. I personally prefer aa bare bones, old school and simple of a truck as possible so I love it.

    Have the 2018 SR5 CM. May be behind the competition in some aspects, but when I buy a vehicle I am going to keep it for quite awhile. I’m still driving my 96 4Runner and you still see a lot of them on the road. The problem with bells and whistles is they break as I found with my Ford. I bought it as a truck not a large auto.

      So you'd rather have a truck that has better fuel mileage, but will be in the shop for two weeks at a time because of drive train issues, over a truck that has normal fuel mileage (for a large full size truck) that will NEVER be in the shop for drive train issues. Hmmm, ok. Makes perfect sense.

    Not happy with my Tundra at the moment. I bought a 2016 SR5 TRD last year used at 38K miles, now needs a new gas tank due to a sticky roll-over valve (results in really frustrating fuel fill ups - slow, slow slow), Toyota is NOT interested in doing anything about it after chasing them several times. That will be a couple of grand to replace. I now also have a blow door lock activator on the left rear door -- apparently Toyota has had these issue for years, great. So much for Toyota reliability ...

    Very basic truck which can tow 25 foot Airstream trailer that doesn't cost $75,000 to do it. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that many people complain about in the new trucks..so here it is. I think I'm starting to change my mind on the Tundra and accepting it for what it is. A basic truck where it's interior is put together pretty well that won't squeak and rattle a year down the road. I'm driving a 2009 Lexus that doesn't have a single speaker rattle inside. I had 2008 Toyota sienna I purchased brand new it drove it for eight years without a single squeak or rattle.
    Both vehicles easily took me over the 300,000 mile mark however, full disclosure, oddly enough the Lexus required more repair such as replacing the front end (rack and pinion)where d/the Sienna required only a light bulb change in 8 years.
    Show me any of the big three automakers couple year into ownership that doesn't have squeaks and rattles.
    Not happening. Also while the interior might be dated, I appreciate it simplicity as I'm not trying to live like an Egyptian god and don't need gold trim, exotic wood panels everywhere.
    If a Toyota dealership is aggressive on the price they just might have a buyer.

    Nice truck! I think the thing that bothers me the most is the fact it says Tundra under the touch screen. Idk why, but it just bothers the hell out of me. And I wish it had some extra storage compartments like the Tacoma but I heard you can add some or maybe newer trim has it but I could be wrong.

    I had a 24 hour rental on a 2019 sr5 base. I really liked it and thought how much better the limited trd must be. But Toyota does need to really update it. The infotainment system is poor, sound system is poor, driver seat is too soft in my opinion but nice. Backup camera quality and features are poor. All windows should be power up and down. All TRD models should come with a rear locker. Basically the interior needs a Ram makeover...otherwise it’s great.

      John Rambo ~ Toyota say they “listen” to the customers and they (us the customers) haven’t asked for some of these “things”, but nearly everyone I’ve noticed, including myself, has asked for these particular things! Not really sure who they talk to. I have a 17, and it’s great truck, but some come on Toyota!!!

      @@tacoma171 right on..they have a dang near perfect truck..just needs a rear diff lock and tranny with more gears....I think the touchscreen needs an update too but all and all...really nice truck for sure...I have been driving GMC Sierra 4x4 trucks for years...I love them and they are so off road capable too but if Toyota had the couple things I mentioned...I'd buy a Tundra tommorow.

      If you buy a truck to use as a truck then the reliability takes precedence over all the techno bullshit. If you want an Iphone on wheels go buy a Tesla.

      Spare parts In 2018 why should reliability and tech be separate on a $50k truck?

    • @spareparts7630
      @spareparts7630 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@KiloCharlieOne Because tech doesn't age well. Ever try to use a 10 year old computer or cell phone? This crap will be obsolete in 5 years anyway and when it does take a dump you'll have a hell of a time fixing it. If you lease or trade vehicles every 2 years then that's great but I would like my truck to last a long time and be as trouble free as possible. The more gadgets you add to it, the more likely it is to break. Just my 2 cents but I'll use my truck for truck stuff and if I want tech then I'll pull out my phone or go in the house and use the computer.

    • @KiloCharlieOne
      @KiloCharlieOne 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spare parts Well, I’m currently using a 10 year old comp and a 5 year old iPhone. Any car tech past 2014 will age just fine. Navigation and Bluetooth are about all you need. My 06’ grand Cherokee’s navigation still works great. We aren’t talking windows or apple ios.

    I like toyotas but for what you pay you get so much more truck for the money from other manufacturers, these things are greatly overpriced for what you get and toyota fanboys couldnt be happier. And dont tell me 'oh but its reliable' any other truck is reliable if you maintain it properly. The inflated price and the arrogant salesman that acts like their doing me a favor by selling me a "TOYOTA" from every dealership I walk into is what's keeping me from buying one of these.
