Yep I also do this in my personal projects. But you know, each time you say it it's a little bit truer than before, until BAM! 3.25 is the final final 3.x patch.
I completely disagree about not including rumors, I like hearing rumors and don't want to have to try and hunt them all down, that's why I subscribe here, so I don't have to do that myself.
They need to reduce fighter weapons ranges. With this one simple fix, dogfights are closer together even if speeds are higher and larger ships have longer ranges, meaning a fighter needs to fly in under fire to get close. As it is right now fighters have an engagement range which makes weapons that are slower not able to track them properly. They just move out of the way seconds before the projectile even gets near them.
It doesn't matter how many components and features of 4.0 they move up, it ain't 4.0 until server meshing and Pyro are in it. Spinning it any other way is misleading and doesn't belong in the headline.
What they said actually is that "3.24.2 is running on the 4.0 base code. Everything is in except pyro and server meshing." But you cant put that in the title because its too long. Quit cryin.

Is it normal for devs to steamroll through versions for literal years without actually fixing the root problems in the game. I mean how on earth are we supposed to be even remotely excited about 4.0 when I know the elevators won't work there lol.
@@TheSoldonnick this tbh. Mfs are stupid for saying "its in alpha, its gonna be buggy". It shouldnt be buggy to the point where its unplayable... Havent been able to leave my hangar for days due to a gamebreaking bug where landing services, elevators, and fleet manager console dont work. Ive had to quit the game until a hotifx/patch somes that actually allows me to fly a ship 💀
The BIS paint leaks are dissapointing. Sad they didn my boy like that. Also the changes coming to the Corsair are a bit of a head scrather. Why would you attach forward (essentially piolet controlled) aiming guns to someone that isn't able to aim the guns? At lease put them on a turret.
I'm hoping we see one day of Squadron and another of Star Citizen. I do think a medium sized salvage ship would be great, I like the Vulture for solo runs, but a Reclaimer always makes me want a crew of 5-6 which I can't do with my circle currently. Having a 3-4 crew salvaging ship would be really cool.
the one thing it won't be, stable on release. D: I'm not even trying to be a doom sayer, but patches like this are never stable on release. I hope for it's stability a few weeks in though. 🥲
it definitely wont be. As we speak, I cant leave my home planet hangar as landing services/fleet manager/elevators arent working. Character repairs and server swaps didnt fix it. Literally unplayable for me right now as Im stuck in Area 18 😑
@@Solowed- weird, I am at Area 18 as well and it seems to work for me more often than not - but I had the same experience on occasion. Seems to be a random occurrence, more based on low serverFPS. As to 3.24.2/4.0: the way the current update is running, I will not hold my breath. For a 'Cargo Empire' update, a lot related to cargo does seem to run badly for me - so much that I lost not only aUEC ships for the first time with the update - but als about 5 million aUEC in cargo due to various bugs.
The rumours of the ship are a definite danger to my fleet... The Crusader Starter Ship will be hard to pass up. I absolutely do not need any more ships, but I love Crusader. The MISC Fortune, looking to be the Mole of the Salvaging world, puts my Vulture in danger. It would mean that my Fleet is further condensed for brands. My only Drake ships being my Rambler, getting it's upgrades to an MR, and my Vulture becoming a Fortune. Making my fleet a MISC/Mirai, Origin, Crusader, RSI, Anvil fleet. Ok, so Drake's really not causing it to lose focus.
It seems like there might be a Connie alternative with the MISC Starlancer. I hope that's true, because I like ships in the Cutlass to Connie size range.
taking speed away is not how you bring dogfighting closer. pilots learning throttle control is how dogfights get closer. artificially slowing it feels as fake as it sounds. more importantly CIG needs to be paying more attention to its pilots because people who like combat want the fight to feel good first and cinematics to be on the back burner. no one who is playing pvp is thinking "wow I sure am glad they made this so cinematic." pvp is about competition and skill first and foremost so I really do not understand this desperate drive to make the fights look pretty. form follows function and it seems like CIG is trying to do that backwards and failing when it comes to the flight model.
The thing is mate, they have a plan for ships, its handling and overall flightmodel. We have no larger ships or even capitol ships currently to see how that all works together. So before we start the choo-choo hate train (well guess that thing already departed from the station), let us all see in time what this (new) flightmodel will bring. This has seen ALOT of changes already in the past, there are many more to come! But think of this, there should (and need) be a nice harmony when it comes to ship-to-ship combat in the verse. Let the smaller snubs be the darn muscito's, not the fighters. They need to be alot more tankier. Let the fighters fight beside the larger ships aka SW style xD
dogfighting is 1st and foremost a geometry/physics problem. Taking speed away from weapons forces fights closer, giving acceleration forces fights closer. Closer fights make reading your opponent, and reacting to their movements much easier and a more visual experience. Their current tuning has definitely missed the mark. But the size of the enemy ship in your window, or the number on your dashboard of your speed, have little to nothing to do with the feeling of a fight.
becuase fighting from so far away all you see is a PIP is not cinematic name me that last movie you watched where they don't zoom in? Go watch Star Wars that what they are going for.
You're not exactly wrong, but the problem is that only a small percentage are willing to take all that time which creates a high skill ceiling, this isn't what CIG wants where a very small percentage of PvPers absolutely dominate the field. So they did what they needed tor reduce the skill ceiling.
if you are looking for questions, when SC is finally released, what does CIG see as the endgame? Examples might be fleshed out base building, high difficulty raid events, player choice driven world altering events, Org controlled zones, random discovery in deep space exploration, etc.
I really hope so, but I really doubt it. Better manage our expectations and figure out if it's ready. I'm so excited for Pyro, man. But the project needs to reach some kind of milestone this year (Either 4.0 or SQ42 ) to continue existing, cause I'm afraid backing will start to dwindle.
yea.. new ships again... and no IDRIS No older ships..no golden pass for so many older ones.. BUT NEW ONES? YEAA!! and then they sell them and nerf them to oblivion.. basically LYING about what they sell.
This game is a joke mate what fhey been doing for pass 10 years is trying to get as much as money from dumb rich people by selling stupid ships just for fly around
The claim that CIG wants dogfights to occur at closer range so players can “see their target” is such BS because in 3.23 CIG added huge spark effects to weapon impacts, which totally obscure the target and HUD so you can’t see WTF you’re shooting at! I’m onboard with reducing SCM’s Boost top speed ONLY IF Shields function in NAV mode. That means non-combat players can escape from combat with their Shields active (so they cannot be easily disabled by distortion weapons and EMPs) and attacking Light Fighters cannot use their 700+ m/s Boost top speed to keep pace with them most of the way. Otherwise, CIG’s decision to reduce Boost top speed is blatantly pandering to Pirates and Griefers who don’t want their prey to escape from ambushes - and there’s ample evidence that CIG has been pandering to the “PVP” community for YEARS. Furthermore, IF CIG wants to stop Light Fighters from hovering at long range and sniping large ships while evading fire, they should change the max ranges of Ship Weapons to be based on the ship’s Power Plant(s) size and number - or the ship’s “Capacitor” size. Basically, ships with more powerful and/or multiple Power Plants can output more energy to their energy weapons, boosting their max range, projectile velocity, and any damage reduction due to range. That would mean that starfighters, especially Light Fighters, are ineffective at long range and need to get in close to inflict damage, whereas larger ships can defend themselves at longer range.
See, that and using armor to mitigate damage from fighters against larger targets. Problem is, all of this would make sense, which is why we won't be seeing anything of the sort from CIG.
@@StrikerWolf91 Distortion weapons changed in 3.23. Now distortion weapons do virtually no damage to shields and won't effect the ship at all until its shields are taken down by other weapons. Distortion weapons will only overload a ship's systems and shut it down if they hit the hull. That's why it's so risky to switch to NAV mode in the middle of a battle; if the attacker has distortion weapons, just a few hits will disable the unshielded ship. I believe CIG deliberately timed this change to distortion weapons for Master Modes, because they want non-combat ships to get trapped in combat. That's why CIG is reducing Boost's top speed, to prevent non-combat ships from being able to boost far enough away from their attackers to be out of range of distortion weapons and EMPs, so they can switch to NAV and escape.
Meh They can try but balancing around PvP never works and it'll cause huge uproar if it made it in the games full release. That is to say I don't think it'll make it far into development before everyone realizes it doesn't work.
In my mind that was a different game. It was years later that I remembered that trailer and thought... wait a second, that was SC. Where's my worms and giant crashed ship?
BoredGamer, I always look forward to drinking my cup of coffee starting my morning with your channel for my SC news! Continue doing the great work you do. You, Space Tomato and Super Mac are my favorite go to for SC content.
The Master modes thing is laughable. Since its implementation I have been engaging in combat at further distances (as the lower speeds allow more accurate shots, letting me get acceptable hits at close to 2klm) and they want to slow it down more, all so it will bring combat closer 🤣😂🤣 Before Master modes (just to get good shots on target) I had to open fire at 800m or less.
I do appreciate you addressing rumors because you add a bit of knowledge about the game to them, which makes me better understand what is possible as these rumors crop up. As long as you don't sensationalize them, I like you covering them as news.
It's great to hear that this bill is actually just 4.0 with server meshing turned off, that will give a long long time for additional testing on other quirks in the 4.0 code base that aren't related to meshing
To be fair I always thought the Hornet Mk.2 getting more variants was kind of a foregone conclusion. What surprised me more was that they sold the military version before all the variants were done.
If there features and stuff that is in 4.0 can be spread in a patch or two prior to 4.0, then that kinda makes things easier for when 4.0 drops, in that (because of Pyro) the load upon 4.0 is lighter, and spread a bit to give it room to breath as it were.
That's quite the update size, but it's good that they are putting in more 4.0 stuff for early testing before the whole thing launches to minimize breaking points with meshing
They are scaffolding 4.0 into the file structure so future builds run smoother and getting some of the minor features like the ship HUDs sorted. The Polaris for example has been in the game file configs and mostly empty sub folders since it was a holo table display the first time in engine. The ones that got my attention were the AC changes for a TheatresOfWar tree and a SQ42 mobi glass with mission manager and chapter app folder and config file called c1_letterhome with the addition of the Odin System file tree to star systems which is where SQ starts after the intro movie at Vega. Maybe they are adding the intro movie for SQ42 or a mini demo in AC.
Squadron 42 (2024) Update Synopsis Take the role of a rookie UEE Navy combat pilot in a cinematic single-player adventure set in the Star Citizen universe.
The idea of a patch that's a lesser 4.0 seems decent to me. It'll probably help them find any bugs introduced to the old loops and system before the patch drop.
A new feature I would like: Floors that work! Hands that things don't fall out of, through the floor, and through the planet! The hover trolleys sound useful, but if they could create a similar tech, "hover boots", then they would not need to fix floors. Oh, and walls the enemy doesn't shoot through. Finally, I could get rid of those big floppy clown shoes that reduce the chances of the player falling through the floor! 😁
Well that actually smart to squeeze in so many of the 4.0 stuff that NOT server meshing, this was all stuff that Got pushed out of 3.4.0 & 3.4.1 to 4.0 anyways makes sense to make 4.0 a stable as possible.
Was really excited earning my Hull C, but after spending countless hours and over a mil in sacrificed aUEC... Not to mention an hour+ EVA & trying to get the extended ship unstuck after it respawned in my hanger. (Quick tip: don't blow it up in your persistent hanger.. Wreckage is ALSO persistant!!!) Anyway, it's my biggest ship that can only carry 2SCU on the elevator.. 😢 Endless waiting for cargo to transfer 0:00.
I really don't see why it's particularly relevant that they may be using some of the 4.0 codebase for unreleased features, they're not fixing bugs if things aren't actually in use.
I love hearing speculation about spoilers. Hope and speculation is our main sustrnance with this game until we get closer to a full release. I'm thrilled when you curate them for us.
[Question for citcon] if they haven't already addressed this prior to then please ask if they've settled on whether or not polaris is getting weapons size increases and if so details? They first mentioned it months ago and as far as I've seen haven't said anything else on it.
Sandworms are on Lier III which is like 8 jumps from Stanton. What this suggests is there might be more systems developed and waiting for Server Meshing than we thought.
I really hope they allow the Mk1 skins to be used on the Mk2. Also, it seems kinda messed up that they're going to sell a Mk2 Tracker before the Mk1 tracker has a functional gameplay mechanic.
Slowing down dogfighting is a good idea, but only to a point. After all, BIG ships, capital ships, should really be designed for long-range target acquisition and destruction. If you have fighters buzzing in close to a capital ship, then you're in trouble. You WANT to keep them at range, so I'm curious to see what they're going to do with that. Up close and personal is great for fighters, but not for capital ships. Cap ships should be pretty slow to begin with, so we'll have to wait and see how they're going to address that dynamic in the long term. If fighters can ZIP right in up close and be effectively unhittable until they go into combat mode... Then that's going to kindof defeat the need for the big ships to keep the little zip zip ships at range. It's a difficult dynamic to really nail down and do it right. I think they'll do it, but there's going to be a LOT more iterations on combat before it's really dialed in and it's going to irritate everyone in the process. That's just the way it's going to be and folks need to just accept it. It's not a game. Not yet. We've still got a LONG way to go. We're just a hell of a lot closer now than we were, say, a year ago. :)
This kind of episode is amazing around here. Keep us updated of everything. Also, 4.0 means to be far and close at the same time, with Server Meshing Tech previews telling me we have a big road yet.
The fact they’re putting 3.24.2 on the 4.0 code base has me a bit hesitant but also very hopeful. Hesitant that it will be broken. Hopeful that this means it will be sooner for 4.0 and it won’t be a mess!
In regards to spoilers, I believe the spoiler warning in the title is sufficient warning for those who do not want to hear it. But for those of us who tune in to your show I do appreciate you telling us about them! I can understand if you choose to not give details but please don't stop reporting them and linking to their source because I like to speculate on this type of information. I would never know of them without you turning me on to them and all other content creators suck Banu bits.
To the question about the quantum boosting or in-system travel I gotta say 'Elite Dangerous' and/or 'Infinity Battlescape' did it so much better. Every way CIG has tried to or has proposed to make it work just falls short. I don't mind so much needing to stay on target while entering QT travel but I really don't like the on-rails part. But I also don't want to be fighting my ship the WHOLE time I'm in Quantum. Again, ED/IB got it right the first time. I like the ramping up into the travel speed and being allowed to make corrections in transit. If I want to change my destination don't make me drop out of QT, open the mobi-glass, find my new destination, Route it, exit mobi-glass and then go through the whole entering QT process again. Just let me frickin' turn my ship. And let me drop out when I want to at the end. If I fly straight into a planet then that's on me. Make it just engaging enough that I have to pay attention and not go afk or zone out for minutes at a time. For me SC is about flying spaceships. Let me fly it.
I really don’t care what they call it as long as they fix the poorly thought out inventory and fix storage in the Mole and Prospector, and the issues with the home hanger freight elevators. We have to pack “store all” containers and then wrestle them into the Mole just to store mining gadgets, food, drink, etc. the only size container we can fit into the Prospector is the one-quarter SCU size, and that won’t even accept a single gadget in a quarter-SCU box. We also can’t even bed log in some ships. I know we can’t in the Mole, the Cutty Black, and the 325a at the very least. The 3.24.1 update is turning into a problem that rivals 3.18. My fingers are tired from reporting bugs on the IC just to see the bugs continue from update to update.
As someone with F7A Hornet Mk.II, I'll keep my F7C-S Hornet Ghost Mk.I as Mk.I because I prefer having more MFDs. With the change to altimiter no longer being center view I would be waiting for Visor HUD at minimum before thinking of upgrading the Ghost to Mk.II.
I’d appreciate a discussion from you both on rumors. Otherwise, we have to go to less level headed sources for that content. I’d rather have your reasonable approach on that. Cheers
I will actually cheer when Squadron is released, simply because it is finally out of the way and frees up resources and adds mechanics (hopefully) to the Public Universe. I want to touch Bored Gamer now. Just the hand.
If im out zipping around in my little arrow rocking my little medical gown my speed is my ships survivability. Master modes makes engaging in a fight a commitment, and slows things down over all if you want shields and weapons. But continuing to nerf boosting just takes away from the actual perks of being just a lil guy. If you cant lik guy your way out of anything then it becomes why am i flying a light fighter. Or medium fighter?
I feel like their goal of MM being to get things closer so turrets mean more which would be the way to meet their goal of 2 person ships are better than 2 single fighters. I like the concept and am hoping they can make it work with it all still being fun.
Best BG podcast yet! Bored is hilarious lately .. in such a good mood, i literally lold several times during this one.. and Zin is adorable and lovely as always
I wasn't sure about master-modes when they announced it and just recently jumped back into the game this week after a few months off... I actually like it. All this talk about "speed" ignores that the majority of the fighting in game is jousting (very boring). There is very little to none actual cat and mouse or strategy dogfighting. In my opinion, ship guns should be weaker, velocity decreased for repeaters, but distance increased. Shields should also be weaker but shield recovery should be a constant tick and not a "wait till no damage and then recover full".
I like you guys covering rumors, but I agree with Zinnia that data mined leaks should be left out. Most of the stuff in the files is a framework for what CIG expects to put in eventually. However, that does not mean it 'will' be in the next patch.
Zin and Bored have great voices for this stuff. Looking forward to Vara. I wonder if the Vanduul will be impossible to find again. As far as unconfirmed spoilers... Falls under speculation, not news if you ask me, but that's just my opinion.
If they're going to announce SQ42 at CitCon, then I'd fully expect the actors to show up at CitCon, and see more interviews and other stuff from them on the lead up to release.
I am with you, I am willing to give Master Modes a try. I honestly do not mind Master Modes currently. I understand this gave is in development. This game has changed a ton since 2012. I am good with slowing the speeds down. These people who dislike the fighter combat, try DSC and get a feeling how slow that feels. As for leaks, I enjoy the rumors. It gives insight into where Star Citizen is heading.
I was planning on taking a month off just to take a break from star citizen but just the updates coming, makes me want to stay at least until the end of October. That said the master modes are killing me with the constant changes. Slowing everything down may work for fighting but I agree, I don't want it dumbed down. Dog fighting really has been like jousting for me for awhile now
People always complain about games, and half the players don't actually know what would make things better. I'm happy to rely on the people with the actual data and whose job it is to improve combat to do so, whether that takes all the way till 1.0 or not.
Definitely the CitizenCon patch, just using 4.0 codebase. Most of the goodiepack items in there. Also looking forward to your commentary on the rumored new starter ships and MISC salvager. Interesting stuff!
Its unintended effect is combat becomes a 1v1 fight as you can now barely dodge fire from the ship you are engaging. Time to kill is high so it just means a solo player is now going to take a load of damage and or die in any PvP or PvE combat. This is a problem with their team structures more than anything, am I right in saying this has been done by the "ship combat team" they get given a simplistic objective like make ship combat for visual and starwars like and force people to stay in combat rather than running. This results in incomplete and poorly thought out gameplay. Ship combat is being treated like it has no other interactions other than when a player "decides" to do combat/ is forced by devs to do combat. Flight mechanics are part of universal gameplay and need to be developed with this in mind (like they were originally) this is why everyone is saying master modes are wrong.
I think CIG needs to slow down and bring closer fights as hitting the hull over and over will do little but getting close and hitting internal systems sounds harder and more fun.
Holy moly if you go to citizen con ask them to hold off on the Corsair changes. Copilot control of 2 fixed guns (and also the rear turret) makes no sense.
I really hope that they release 4.0 without bowing to pressure to release it early. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have it as soon as possible but at the same time I'd rather them give it a last little polish before release.
I do worry that the comment about 3.24.2 lite being 4.0 like will somehow later be twisted into "Well it was technically in months ago!" months from now.
The ubder the hood work on the gane is always rough, it seems to be the hardest stuff to get right, and assuming it's working right, the player won't even notice it, I rememember around the time we were transitioning from the hanger module to actual space flight, I think it was around then there was a contracting snafu around the "fps module" and a bunch of stuff had to be reworked, it was a very slow and frustrating time, serving meshing is a similar slog, I imagine once were through it we'll be back to the hype moments of regular feature updates
@19:25 This could also be the MISC Starlancer exploration ship (MAX & BLD). They did tease a couple of different MISC-ish images so one might have been the Fortune salvager and the other the Starlancer.
There is certainly a ton more coming in 3.24.2 than I was expecting, pretty much most of the features from 4.0 other than server meshing and Pyro by the looks of it.
I think it’s good that they’re prepping 4.0 now. Also, I don’t know why people believe that they’re gonna release Squadron 42 at Citizencon they’re crazy. Just like every other game within marketing they will announce a release date that way it gives time for people to buy it. Also, provides them to flush out the bugs. 🤪 “My Opinion” 😅
Ah -- I see CIG is playing marketing silly buggers with numbering. Hiding a major update in a minor point patch so that when it's inevitably rocky at launch, it gets no bad press. Then when 4.0 actually launches, it's "remarkably stable" and they get lots of positive press. They are *soft launching* 4.0 so that *opening night* goes smoothly. Honest semantic versioning would call this next patch something like 3.99.0...

The BIS paint leaks are dissapointing. Sad they didn my boy like that. Also the changes coming to the Corsair are a bit of a head scrather. Why would you attach forward (essentially piolet controlled) aiming guns to someone that isn't able to aim the guns? At lease put them on a turret.
i mean i agree that the corsair (and connie) have too much pilot dps, but yeah not sure what theyre doing with that change
Almost forgot my question for CitizenCon: "Where's my RangerTR?"
Whatever it ends up being just pray it is stable!
fair
the one thing it won't be, stable on release. D: I'm not even trying to be a doom sayer, but patches like this are never stable on release. I hope for it's stability a few weeks in though.
🥲
I wouldn't expect stability until about a year after SM goes live unfortunately
it definitely wont be.
I hear ya, that crusader starter is almost guaranteed to find it's way into my hangar 😂
They should just make ships not move anymore. Just go back to the hanger module
You're not exactly wrong, but the problem is that only a small percentage are willing to take all that time which creates a high skill ceiling, this isn't what CIG wants where a very small percentage of PvPers absolutely dominate the field. So they did what they needed tor reduce the skill ceiling.
Apparently there's not only one MISC ship, but two, either the new MISC Fortune, and apparently there's a MISC Starlancer coming as well.
It'll either be A delayed, 2 unstable, or 3 butchered into smaller bits & the good features are pushed back to later updates
if you are looking for questions, when SC is finally released, what does CIG see as the endgame? Examples might be fleshed out base building, high difficulty raid events, player choice driven world altering events, Org controlled zones, random discovery in deep space exploration, etc.
I really hope so, but I really doubt it. Better manage our expectations and figure out if it's ready. I'm so excited for Pyro, man. But the project needs to reach some kind of milestone this year (Either 4.0 or SQ42 ) to continue existing, cause I'm afraid backing will start to dwindle.
indeed. the releases of sq42 and functional server meshing with either make or break the future of the project
yea.. new ships again... and no IDRIS No older ships..no golden pass for so many older ones..
I completely agree with what you said. However, distortions almost completely ignore shields, so it does not matter if you have them on or not.
That's why CIG is reducing Boost's top speed, to prevent non-combat ships from being able to boost far enough away from their attackers to be out of range of distortion weapons and EMPs, so they can switch to NAV and escape.
i agree to what you say except the spark effect.. leave the spark effect alone please it looks amazing lol
Meh
They can try but balancing around PvP never works and it'll cause huge uproar if it made it in the games full release.
That is to say I don't think it'll make it far into development before everyone realizes it doesn't work.
Sandworms? Now that brings back memories!
Since its implementation I have been engaging in combat at further distances (as the lower speeds allow more accurate shots, letting me get acceptable hits at close to 2klm) and they want to slow it down more, all so it will bring combat closer 🤣😂🤣
Before Master modes (just to get good shots on target) I had to open fire at 800m or less.
Boosting speeds even lower? waaaaat?!? are we being trolled?!?.
I gotta say, I wasn't expecting them to do that, but given what the datamines have found, it does make sense now.
It's actually pretty smart to get the base code for 4.0 into testing now. That may reduce the amount of time it has to sit in the PTU later.
Fingers crossed for spooky F8C and F7A skins 🤞
Maybe next year. This year's paints has already been found in the files: Carrack, Terrapin, Suylen, Zeus.
You see the data mined BIS F8C skin? They're so bad it's scary...
@@Nicodemus_Archleone looking up now 😭
I hope they release some for the reclaimer
The MFDs are super exciting. Right now I can not really read my altimeter half the time.
yeah altimeter is only for real pilot ... we don't need it in SC
The supposed changes to the Corsair are beyond ridiculous.
What are the changes to the Corsair?
Taking the bottom 2 chin guns away from pilot and giving them to the copilot, along with rear remote turret and missles it already had.
I think Zin is right about not getting too heavy into rumors and datamines. I LIKE that BG is dependable REAL news
Squadron 42 (2024) Update
Synopsis
Take the role of a rookie UEE Navy combat pilot in a cinematic single-player adventure set in the Star Citizen universe.
I'm practically begging for a gold standard on the Claw before 4.0 or maybe fixing the salvage rep glitch that removes verified salvage missions.
Wreckage is ALSO persistant!!!)
Anyway, it's my biggest ship that can only carry 2SCU on the elevator.. 😢
Endless waiting for cargo to transfer 0:00.
I really don't see why it's particularly relevant that they may be using some of the 4.0 codebase for unreleased features, they're not fixing bugs if things aren't actually in use.
The biggest gripe was ships were too slow. So what's Cig's response?Make them slower!
Honestly after the Twitchcon fiascos this year, saying "Hey just don't touch me" is sadly not an unreasonable statement.
Will we have a full wipe with 3.24.2? Would think it would be easier to do it then then wait for 4.0 right? Thanks
I'm glad they are splitting up 4.0 into multiple patches. I don't expect 4.0 until at least March of next year.
Maybe do a "wild ass guesses" show once a week or something, re: spoilers/leaks/not-quite-news-news?
@BoredGamer I think covering leaks / rumours is fine, so long as you make it clear how credible the source was :)
My excitement for the game is returning, it really seems like SQ42 being feature complete has been putting more hands on the PTU.
Best BG podcast yet! Bored is hilarious lately .. in such a good mood, i literally lold several times during this one.. and Zin is adorable and lovely as always
I still think there's a strong case for making an avatar directly from your webcam as a base you can then customise...
I agree with Spooky Zinya on the spoilers in that I’d rather not have them in main videos. BUT, I’d be fine if they were in separate ones. :)
Agree, CIG need to have a re-think on this one and will hopefully come to realise it is an obviously bad idea
You should add the datamining stuff as a series of videos It would be interesting to listen to. All the rumours and datamined stuff
I dont want to go somewhere to search for SC stuff, rumors, news and everything else so keep them coming.
I really hope that they release 4.0 without bowing to pressure to release it early. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have it as soon as possible but at the same time I'd rather them give it a last little polish before release.
Bored and Zin, thank you for the constant updates. Exciting times!
The BIS skins look really disappointing. And I live in Manchester but I can’t afford to go to Citcon 💔
purple again... smh.
@19:25 This could also be the MISC Starlancer exploration ship (MAX & BLD). They did tease a couple of different MISC-ish images so one might have been the Fortune salvager and the other the Starlancer.
Still be a bit worried... server meshing is never work as intended and therefore not the tech which is needed...
Any idea when we'll get the Galaxy? My friend bought one and I hope I can get him back into SC once he can use it.
I am not sure Yogi even plays the game tbh. How can he say these things in good faith?? This is Helldivers 2-level of bs.
Very curious how this will shape up. Could we actually see 4.0 by the end of the year? I'll be certainly amazed.
I hope to see a lot of intelligent changes to the flight system throughout 4.0. Nice that they are testing the code base already though
There is certainly a ton more coming in 3.24.2 than I was expecting, pretty much most of the features from 4.0 other than server meshing and Pyro by the looks of it.
Hands off of Bored and Zinya! They're part of the SC lore and belong to the SC community
I really like the look of the BIS paints. Also excited to have 890 jump paints finally.
Just finally started playing 3.24.x. Not bad. Still getting use to the whole cargo thing. Looking forward to 3.24.2
I think it’s good that they’re prepping 4.0 now.
I like the idea of a MISC salvage ship, hope it has some benefits over the Vulture
