LOL I was the fighter that escorted you out. i was wondering why you were just floating above rappel with a full Cargo hold. It was tempting by my good side won out that day.
My favorite thing about this channel is that you're in character the entire time. It gives me a level of immersion that makes me feel like I'm watching a real person going about their life in the verse. Thank you for being awesome dude
So happy you did this with the RAFT. The RAFT and Cutter are my two favorite ships. They’re definitely not the meta. But I love the immersion I get from them 👍
So... #1 - The RAFT's VTOL will launch you very quickly, if you turn it on. #2 - it has hard points for size 1 weapons, but you have to buy them as it doesn't come with any. #3 - if you're being scanned by security, using your QD to travel isn't going to get you a crime stat, only thrusters will. #4 - very good video! 😎🍻
Yeah, that is why I stagger my routes, go so far and then pick another target travel a bit and reattach the current route.@ 15:12. I love the Raft but it is a bit to get used to no weapons for the Pilot.
Finally! Someone venturing out to Hurston's savannah! That is one of the best looking places in the game but people rarely ever seem to visit there. It looks awesome and has such a unique feel.
Really glad you enjoy them! Well I’ve been thinking about buying a 2nd game package and gifting it to one of my viewers at some point, I haven’t decided how to go about that yet
Your videos help me slow down after work. Thank you so much for that. Also you inspire me to actually grind in SC and do some of the cool things you show. Got a vulture from a bonus at work and well, found my profession. I’m working towards a big cargo ship now, because of seeing it here. Also I’m just winging most things now, and exploring as I go. Appreciate you
Thank you very much, that really means a lot! It makes me beyond happy to hear that I’ve helped in some way. That’s awesome, salvage is a ton of fun! Glad you are able to take it slow and just chill in the ‘verse, it’s a long journey and it’s important not to burn yourself out
When I had a Prospector on loan I used to go out and fill a few refining orders and then use a RAFT to go sell whatever I mined. I loved flying just industrial ships, the game feels like something different that way.
Yeah I know right, I love the industrial ships also. I like the feeling of selling ore that you refined yourself, it’s pure profit unlike just cargo hauling
Of all the ships i own, the Raft is my fave, never fly the Corsair/C1/M2/Phoenix, they just don't have the level of immersion this little ship has, melted my F8 for this.
its wild how in depth this game is, im suoer intrested in it just becuase it manages to be an actual other world with a functuoning player economy, in world jobs, etc etc. its super cool!
might be a weird comment but I was just coding and I just like listening to you talk and weirdly, I cant remember really what it was. but you turned the light on in my head and I figured out what my issue was with something you said xD. so thank you and you've earned a subscriber!
i think the purpose of the raft is kinda an inbetween hauler. like you take it out with your large Hull and use it to transfer loads in and out from a centralized location in system that is, like you park the hull at say, Arcorp, and then sesnd the rafts out to MT, Hurston, Crusader, etc to pick up loads and return them to the hull. at least tahts kinda how it feels to me
The RAFT is most likely set up for 4 people running shifts, and is probably ideally flown by at least one pilot and a gunner, where the gunner would be the one picking up and selling the cargo, which would explain why the top deck is the default.
I've said this in other videos, but needs repeating, that the "RAFT" should be used primarily for moving cargo to and from Hull ships to station cargo centers? I've suggested ("Game Ideas") that the ARGO RAFT looks capable of moving, not just three, but six 32 scu containers, but only in space (too heavy to land). ;-) Imagine several RAFTs moving containers from their locking hooks (tractor beams), onto a Hull ship's cargo grid, while other RAFTs are removing containers, placing them onto their hooks and heading to a station's cargo center or another cargo ship? This is why I got a RAFT, now it's up to CIG to create the process where I can make a profit moving "six" 32 scu containers around? ;-)
Nice episode! I don't know if you're taking requests, but do try out the Spirit C1, it has 64 SCU of cargo space and has pilot-controlled guns as well.
Hello, great video! You can actually sell the RMC directy at Loreville instead of going all the way to Area-18. It makes for much quicker and profitable runs.
The RAFT has some impressive stats (subject to change): quantum fuel tank of 27,585 (Freelancer is 2,500); quantum range of 4,218 (Freelancer is 229); hit points of 25,000-41,751 (Freelancer is 6,200-30,200); shields of 18,000 (Freelancer is the same, a Nomad is 4,500 for comparison) but it is slow.
Not gonna lie your videos made me want to play this game so bad! so i bought an starter pack and gonna try it very soon, i guess i would be learn things forever lol
I don't play the game at the moment, but cargo haulers are my favorite style of ships in any space game and the Raft and Caterpillar are easily my favorites that I've seen in videos from this game. I think ultimately the Caterpillar wins out for me, but the Raft is a pretty close second. Having the cargo on the exterior isn't to my liking, otherwise I think the two would probably be flipped in my preferences haha, the interior of the Raft is really nice.
Maybe I just don't click on the right videos, but I don't actually see the Hull series used very often. Mostly I see the Raft and the big wide one with the interior hold - the Hercules, maybe? Something like that.
If you are leaving your ship, you should not have QT mode on. Should have weapons on with shields set to full power before getting out of the seat. You have no shields with QT mode when you get up.
There is something cool making me wantt9 but the raft. I think it's the industrial digger look and the grabbers for cargo. Pity it's a bit small cargo wise compared to the Connie taurus 174scu storage and also bit rubbish weapon wise (even if you manually add the size 1 guns to raft)
We all have a C1 and its a little bland, yet the Raft is a beautifully practical design for an industrial style ship, is very immersive and is just starting to show it true self. The Raft is as far as i go with Cargo, beyond that for me, it becomes a yawn fest, and your getting into the seedy side of Grind-for-Greed, which detracts from the fun part.
Would be a bit more immersive if you had to load the containers on to your ship yourself using the tractor beam or pay a little extra for an auto-loader system to be used.
what makes RMC so profitable? it is a referring to IRL military ship alloy, military ships use different types of alloy than your ordinary ships, it is so expansive that salvage WWII old military ships from the ocean is a very lucrative business, it is so lucrative that the ships' original owner goverment would protest the salvage company. RMC is the space age battleship alloy. P.S. and yes, area 18 spaceport's air-control tower is like a space age lighthouse, that light is so bright, I think it might be those old cold war soviet nuclear powered lighthouse guide ships through arctic route. Very cool, very sci-fi feel
I had the raft and I got rid of it because when I got out of the pilot seat while quanting and when I went to the back and opened that one door it shot me out to space, ship never to be found again. Hopefully they have fixed it.
Cargo hauling is fun, especially when eventually there will be more mission like hauling. This kind of trading is a bit boring to my taste. The downside to everyone cargo hauling RMC is that when I bring my salvage ship with cargo to want to sell, it is always full because the market is too saturated with RMC. No fun :( While it's more profitable to salvage it yourself then trading it still being done on grand scale.
I'm guessing you need to be on a landing pad, though I didn't see one? ;-) To be honest I haven't played for months, mainly due to seeing all kinds of problems with the game. I'd be happy getting 250K aUEC profit. I imagine using the large Hull ships for mass movement of items (contracted, maybe at first by NPCs) in and out of jump gates (escort?), to be loaded and/or unloaded (see "RAFT" use comment)?
I just wish this game was simpler so I could use a controller and play easily in third person. I’ve put a lot of money and time into this game just wish it was so damn complicated.
I find the constellation taurus the best midpoint cargo ship with 174scu and also it makes a.g9od daily driver for bounties and even carrying a roc for mining
It depends on what you want to do as a career, but I think it’s a good starter ship for sure. Arguably the avenger titan might be the best, but I think you should choose your starter off what really speaks to you, regardless of current meta
PS: Don't forget to prep your account for when 3.24 drops, your aUEC will be rebalanced to a few 1000's, stock up on ''Armour/Weapons/Components'', not to say they won't go also, depends on how critical the patch needs to be.
The common sense way to plan for the game especially if your in for the long haul is: Stick with your basic package, build a portfolio of CCU's to lock in the ship, and the bright boys do that for all the ships...tastes change, then sit back and enjoy the game without the grind, let the grind monkeys grind for ships.

o7 friend. see you in the verse!
i wonder how much hassle it will be to get stuff from rapel with new cargo mechanic. at this point you will really need to secure the perimeter
I want them to make a RAFT-XL with double the capacity. I'd never fly another cargo ship again.
