Is there a time limit in which you have to reconnect it all back together before losing programming or anything?
I think this took me 10 minutes and about 20 minutes to film it… I don’t think there is a limit. But I can’t be certain. Sorry

Ok. Only heard this once before and it turned out that the person kept it in to her hand bag (the wife) ... and perfume cause a defect in the fobs fuse board. But to happen on both. Is strange.
Do you keep them in your pocket so always depressed? Have you tried different brand batteries?
Are the keys rubberised covers “split” therefore letting in moisture?
Make sure you hide 3.2v batteries ..

The issue that I have with my Smart Fortwo key is that the little plastic piece that holds the metal key, inside the fob, broke.
I need a new casing but don't know how to transfer the metal part of the old key (the part that goes in the ignition) to the new key. Any thoughts?
carub00 from memory. I think you need the blank one provided I. The kit cut and just transfer the electronics over as in the video. Good luck
can i reprogramme a key myself? just got a 2004 forfour which i can start but cant lock. the innards have been taken out and the passenger door lock doesn't work. Have seen blanks online that i can get cut, but noone local does programming... just wanna be able to lock it. don't mind if that means using two keys!
Good question. I believe it will need to go to a specialist not just the key. The and the key need to be synchronised I’m sorry

No,you have to remove it with a suction pump,i use a cheap electric fuel pump with a thin vacuum hose stuffed down the dipstick tube,takes abot half hour.

I have moved on somewhat and any close up videos for my TH-cam channels are done in a little “studio” ( a dedicated area in my garage with lots of spot lights and ore set tripod lol) thanks for the time taken to comment. Good question. Because the key that was cut on the original was bonded to the backplate. It was just easier.
