I like watching shoeshine videos but your the first one I ever saw that don’t remove the strings what about the leather underneath the strings? Isn’t it also part of the shoe? I don’t like polish on my shoestrings I’m sure I’m not the only one.
More producers should start making shoes that fit a normal foot. Feet aren't pointy - at least not mine - I have several toes next to each other. Merrel have many excellent models made by people who have seen a foot.
I don’t get why people prefer show shiners to use bare hands. It doesn’t produce a better shine and if I’m doing that multiple times a day, I don’t want those chemicals on my skin.
Mike H. The products will not do anything but stain your hand for a day. And yes you do get better results I have tried both and buy rubbing the wax on the shoe it creates heat and that is what brings up you shine.

Ricopolico, that depends on your definition of cheap. Merrell shoes are not usually considered cheap, unless you buy $300+ shoes, then yes Merrells are cheap.

I’m not the shoe shiner, but that shoe shiner sometimes takes out the laces.
In my opinion, they're horrendous shoes, but keepers after the brilliant shine. Cheers!

This shoe shiner is good. I watch Korean shoe shiners and they don't use conditioner and for some reason use lighter fluid with the wax.

I'm surprised you could use shoe polish on treated leather. Those shoes have been beat all to hell. Now they're just shiny beat all to hell shoes.

In about ten seconds, the glove is the same temperature as your hand, so the heat is the same. So that excuse makes no sense. Wear gloves if you want.
