Perhaps the most popular feature race category at the Adelaide 500, 'TCM' sees former fan favourites from the Supercars series jump behind the wheel of favourite Aussie Muscle cars like Ford GTs, BOSS Mustangs, Chevie Camaros, Chrysler Chargers, Holden Monaros and Toranas and Porsche 911s. These big machines are the V8s of yesteryear, driven by the gurus of yesteryear. It hurts seeing these old beauties getting mangled up, but I love seeing them driven in anger.

@@williamking8684 and besides, even if they were real bodies, it would take a lot more than just running into someone's rear bumper to make one of those fenders come loose... That's how tough those classics were built.

The best motorsport i have ever seen! when these beautiful cars were new the cameras couldn't give us these amazing shots. Australian commentators are also really nice.
Who else prefers this over the v8 supercars?
Both are great. V8 Supercars are so much faster and provide more intense action, but now that there's no Aussie Falcon vs Commodore battles it's less interesting from the cars perspective. This here is a little slower paced but the classic cars make up for it. Great fun watching the classics battle it out.

All the right ingredients for real classic car enthusiasts racing yet Australian corporate manage to turn this into another V8 supercar clone. The cars are the stars not the sponsors or the bloody commentators.

Joseph Stalin in a perfect world yes. I understand the necessity of sponsorship to fund teams but the balance is off. An example that I think is relevant being TH-cam it has enabled car enthusiasts to show case their passion without all the fluff that mainstream media thinks makes viewing more pleasurable. I would much prefer watching amateur racing without over the top commentary and the lack of focus on what is in my opinion the beauty of classic motor sport or motor sport in general. My opinion I understand In the minority with my vision.

I love the coverage otherwise, but hate that these Oz broadcasts just list the drivers and their team names when going through the grid. I really would like to know the makes of these cars in at least some of the races.
So much for boring v8 supercars,this is where the action is. John Bowe is a well accomplished driver in a fiercely fought category and not forgetting that he is one of the poineers of TCM.
A well accomplished driver should know better than down the dirty side of the track on the first corner of lap 1. Wrecked it for others. And gets praised by the commentators because he admitted it. Go pay for their damage. He is only a pioneer and has a heap of wins because he took a highly funded car to what was an amateur series.

That first corner crash was all "JB's" fault. Don't understand why he gets a free pass for that kind of driving? I get he's a legend, but that was rough. It isn't stockcars is it?

All the experts can not see that John Bowes was in front. The Torana just went into side of JB.The red Mustang just kept going. I expected better driving from all of them.
Are these cars real or fiberglass bodies on tube chassis?
As far as I know they're "real" cars but complete reproductions. Nothing original on them.
@@darkchild130 Ahhh, dynacorn bodies. Makes perfect sense too as those don't come with a VIN making them hard to put on the street but they'd make perfect race cars.

That Torana doesn't like the tight line. Wrong place at the wrong time, just not the grip to make a decent fist of it...
When you cant drive, just over drive the 1st corner and dont worry bout anyone else.
That first start looked like something out of the C class DR room in GTSport...amateur hour up the inside on T1 and ruining everyones race. Guy should be penalized for races ahead for that bs. Great track crew leaving gravel everywhere to get embedded in the tires.
In a 10 lap race is more than half are being run under safety. Just reset grid and restart race with remaining cars.
Rusty is 100% right. Though Bowe has been a loose cannon for decades. Drivers standard? Tell him to load and leave!
Power steering? For 10 lap races. Simply girls!!
Bowe is a great driver, everyone makes mistakes in Motorsport.

Aussie motorsports rule. Touring cars, V8 Supercars, Stadium trucks, Super utes... All GREAT stuff! I am so sick and tired of NASCAR it's ridiculous. I used to love American stock car racing, but over the years, the powers that be have irreparably ruined it for everyone.
The rules that have now been implemented into NASCAR has made it just about un-watchable...
