Who out there really cares about the current "super cars".Been to every Bathurst since 1972 and there is no one on the Mountain nowday's.The only thing getting bigger is the ticket price.
The four door looked like it had a failure of some kind, like a jammed throttle. Front brakes locked up, but not slowing at all. Glad to see both drivers ok. Sad to see these two classics damaged like this.
@@SirDaffyD and having had a stuck throttle once in my life, I can’t relate to just how much they push you along even with the brakes locked. Luckily in my case it wasn’t on a race track at high speed.
@@peterj5751. I too had this happen, but mine wasn't stuck as such. The return spring broke. Not fun when this happens in a hotted up V LX Torana in traffic at around 70kmh, and you all off a sudden you start excelerating at a great rate of knots. Lucky I was quick enough too turn off the ignition and put it in nuetral and roll too the side off the road. Still scary enough though. Always had two return springs after that.
@SirDaffyD I realise that. Many classic race cars in NZ have glass guards, bonnets and even bumpers because original parts are so difficult to come by.
It’s all over for V8 Supercars for now. The Aussie passion & love of V8 Sedans is gone. An occasional US/UK/EU vehicle participating just added a bit of fun to the field but to have a complete field of Stangs & Cameo’s all with the same specs is as boring as batshit for True Blue Aussie Revheads… RIP Supercars
100% lot’s of motor sport categories have died trying to end disparity in racing , isn’t that what draws people to racing supporting the cars and brands that we like?
Lol wth...? You have to de-tune a car to be able to race it in Australia when it comes from NZ.... Is there anything more messed up about Australia...?? Just when i thought id seen it all too...
The cars of today are boring as *UCK!!!! and its too controlled by big sponsors, computers and its not ford vs holden anymore!! So its just shit all round!!! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺😊
@@imstillherewatching5790 I was thinking so- the rear wheels were spinning hard while the fronts were locked.. that crash might have been the best overall result as it scrubbed so much speed.
Dump the V8 Supercars and put the money in this category and all the old fans will come back.
Put some of the old boys back behind the wheel as well.
We all know you are 100% correct
With Appendix J for support races.
Rather watch this, than the other series. Much better racing
Holden Torana mate 🔥🤙🏁🏆shame to see those other two smashed up, poor fella would've had no idea that was coming.
Thanks Mr Dallas,,great class of racing,,sad to see the Torana damage
Fairdinkum great racing
Tilley legend 👍🏻🇦🇺✌️.

That was my guess. It looked like a jammed throttle pushing the locked front wheels.
yep 100% stuck throttle , you can here it bangin on the limiter entering the sand trap

The Torana is all fibreglass hardly a steel panel to be seen. Not that hard to fix. The McDonald's one looked nasty
Easy to replace those panels. It's the possible chassis damage that's the worry.

@@morris2450 And if you do find a panel that isn't eaten by rust pricks make out they are gold plated when discussing price, dreamers.
Hold on, we are a ford ed great racing.
This and some of the Goodwood classic racing is so far beyond anything modern racing has to offer.

So good ❤
It does hurt the soul.
TCM is far & away, miles better than V8 Supercars.
Supercars is _dead_
