Youre brave dropping the bumper id be worried it wouldnt go back or go back and "sag" as you often see bumper sag on earlier rovers like the 800.

Amazing the difference in the panels when you showed the clay barred side against the one that hadn't been done. Another great vlog Johnny, a great insight into clay barrring & what a polish & wax can do. Your hard graft really does make a difference. The headlights look so much better too. It's cheered me up watching this as i got soaked tonight changing a wheel after hitting a nasty unsighted pot hole. Look forward to rhe next 1. All the best 👍🏻

Nothing like a good clay bar to put a lovely smooth finish on paint. I don’t know why and it’s probably redundant but I use tar remover first before the clay bar. Easier on the clay I’ve found. Great video. That’s a very nice example of a forgotten car. Thanks.

It’s all about the little details!
A cheaper but just as effective substitute for clay bars is glazier's putty.
Some also suggest plumbers putty but I’ve always favoured the firmer automotive specific clay!

Really enjoys these vids Johnny - nice clear explanations. A question: how do you decide whether a car is worth the effort (and materials) assuming there’s no major defects. I have a 2011 Passat I need to change (ULEZ) and just stead of part ex-img in current Condition (mechanically fine and well serviced albeit 185k on clock- just lots of scuffs and paint correction needed) I’m wondering if it’s worth my time to increase it? Any tips for figuring this out??

I watched an American detailer rub his old Merc plastic rear lights with 1000 grit and used acrylic clear coat and they looked better than brand new.

Quick question, is the clay bar single use?
No the bar can be rotated and r-used a few times, but its not advisable to use them for prolonged periods as contained dirt and contaminants can cause marring after a while👍
That clay bar really works well.
It’s a great thing to do to old, contaminated paint!

@@andyherd5606 in a scenario like this where I’m looking to strip away any existing waxes on the surface of the car, I use a soap dilution as a lubricant. It works a treat!
