"The Battle Hymn of the Republic" was first published in 1862, put to the music of "John Brown's Body", from 1856. The song links the judgement of God in the book of Revelation to the U.S. Civil War. The song is still widely popular today.
I do not represent any of the ideologies, countries, or religions shown on this channel. The purpose of this channel and its content is to historically present the music at hand and does not show support for nor against the party on screen, rather a neutral preservation standpoint so that the music is not lost to time. Not all parties shown on Danjori are widely accepted, however, I merely upload their songs to record history, good or bad.
Weird how modern day communists and leftists would refuse to sing this song. While, on the other hand, the red army choir made a version of this.
I mean it's about freeing slaves
At a Billy Graham church revival event in Moscow no less
@@comradebrother7411 The song is about freeing slaves
personally as a communist this is by far my favorite American song and makes me feel patriotism for a future USA that truly is a beacon of freedom and equality for the world
@@Bluesonofmanto be fair the Battle Hymn is extremely religious which is something very antithetical to communism
this is a weird timeline huh
No more brother wars!☦✝
Amen to that 🇷🇺🕊️
Amen 🇺🇸🕊️✝️
Amen 🇺🇸🇷🇺
Amen. 🇺🇸🇷🇺
The people who invented those sayings wage brother wars. If they wanted peace they’d say “no more wars” whether the people were brothers or not.
Red Army Choir is one of the best treasure for humanity
This combination of American and Russian patriotism is actually quite beautiful, I never expected to see such harmony between these two longtime rivals.
just now realizing that the russian and american coat of arms have the same shield shape
They’re almost inverted: A American Eagle holding a shield and a shield with a Russian eagle on it….. The design of the eagles are also almost identical
The Russian coat of arms features a fantasy two-headed eagle. The US coat of arms a REAL eagle.
@ Russia just copy-pasted the same eagle inverted 🤣
My favorite song being sung by the Red Army Choir. This is truly the best Christmas I've ever had so far.
WHAT TIMELINE IS THISSSSS
Who stepped on the butterfly???
AU where the US helped the whites in the Russian civil war and formed the United States of America and Russia
2:48 "chreest was born across the sea"
British intelligence, American Steel, and Russian Blood.
And French.... Oh wait they fought against the allies
Well, this was a nice thing to find before going to bed. Now I'm off to dream about a beautiful alternate timeline where the US and Russia are best friends...
That actually was a thing... Until Theodore Roosevelt ruined it by pushing forth the Treaty of Portsmouth in 1905 that won him the Nobel Peace Prize. To Russia, the US stabbed them in the back for making them lose Port Arthur, the Japanese felt the US sent them a message they are not as peaceful as they portray themselves as. That event is argued to be the start of the Cold War and the Pacific War of WW2...
Almost as good as the tabernacle choir. Although they are not singing in their native language which can make things difficult.
God bless America and our Russian brothers!
👍🇵🇹
"In the beauty of the lylies Creest was born across the sea", other than that pretty good.
Pretty good pronunciation. Of course I’d expect a slight Russian accent. They do much better with English than I’d do with Russian after all the years since I studied it for a long ago American government job. I am really impressed.
When you realize that Russia use to support the United States during the civil war
Listening to this is very surreal
I am glad to see and to here the Russians like this song, and take the honor to sing this song after all this is a great song,
I'll just bet that the Red Army Choir has absolutely no idea what the song is about.
Long live independence! Long live freedom! Words of the USA!

my favourite song :)
Another great a March Danjori, although I will admit, the Russians singing it does add a big of a weird kick
The Red Army used to be known as the Army of Unbelievers.
Not bad! Peace between Russia and the USA
“John Brown’s Body” is better, and was always more popular with the actual soldiers fighting the US Civil War.
Interesting…

MUSIC OF COURAGE ,, lll
Drogi obywatelu Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, hymn po Angielsku to anthem.
That's true, the common Polish meaning of it, when it is a song meant to represent and praise a country, would translate to "anthem". But English also has the word "hymn" specifically as a religious composition praising God. Synonymous to "psalm". Such as in this case, where it is explicitly religious in nature.
time line where russia helped by america to fight european fasis
Good
WTF is this??
Red Army Choir and the Leningrad Cowboys performing Battle Hymn of the Republic at Helsinki in 1993. Apparantly with a quite enthusiastic Finnish crowd.
Strange things were happening during the Yeltsin era.
