    Alright so I'd like to clear a couple things up.
    First I'd like to clarify that I did not edit a bunch of various versions of "do you hear to people sing" and therefore did not choose the languages featured, it came from: th-cam.com/video/Tq8JaB-NnYY/w-d-xo.html , I simply added lyrics and clips over it. So yes I too wish Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Chinese were in there.
    Second many of ya'll have pointed out that yes the lyrics are not one to one translations. I did this due to the fact that they make literally no sense when put with one another in English. But if any of ya'll are curious what'd it look like, here: th-cam.com/video/aW60FUas64c/w-d-xo.html
    Third, I haven't seen anyone point this out yet so I will; the clips for Sweden, Norway, and Iceland do not reflect their revolutions cause they either didn't have one or didn't have a movie/show that features it, so I took other clips that could have reflected it.

      The recording here was in 1996, it's from a novel turned musical play "Les Miserables" (the music used in the videi is the 1996 10th anniversary recording) based on French June Rebellion, so the people singing there wasn't just any people and it is not based on any other revolution, but only the failed June Rebellion

    You missed the spanish one, it has also a very good version. You could have included parts of the Peninsular War/Guerra de la Independencia. Unlike this conflict, the civil wars that occurred in hispanic america were a conflict that wasnt liberal, it was a civil war between the elites (criollos, with the help of the british and french), and the rest of the population that supported the Spanish Constitution and its king (indigenous peoples, peninsulares, isleños, africans, and a long etc).

    • @GetOffMyChannelOrElse
      @GetOffMyChannelOrElse  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I changed them cause theoretically if you sang the direct translations they would make literally no sense. For instance the polish and dutch parts are: "Will you listen to the song, not to be caught once again, of a people who will No longer be slaves again," which makes no sense back to back. I'll probably make an unlisted version with the direct translations, just so people can see.

      The second is of when German revolutionary's held a protest after in front of the Berlin palace on march 18th 1848. @@cccyanide3034As much as I agree with you, this wasn’t really recorded to be a song for this video’s context. You can check the description for context, but this was a large production of LesMis for the 10th anniversary of the play, a “dream cast”, and the finale features actors from around the world who play the main character in the play. The languages you hear are the native languages of those actors who attended and sung, and sadly not every major language was represented, with notable lacks of Italian, Spanish, Russian, and some others.
      Still, it’s an incredible performance, and a stunning finale!

      @@TheMedicalDemon liberal at that time has nothing to do with what we consider liberal nowadays, in those times "liberalism" encompassed both the moderate Parliamentary bourgeoisie and the lower class Republican Radicals, it was only after the 1848 revolutions that the split of interests became widespread and the Working class began organising separately. So it is fair and correct to take this is a leftist song.

      @ no? As you yourself just said, it was a liberal movement, even if not strictly defined to what we know as liberal today. The main point was "liberte egalite and fraternite", which clearly supports liberal ideas as shown in the declaration for the rights of man. The reason the 1832 Paris uprising (which is what Les Mis is about) even happened is because the King wasn't properly protecting the equal rights given to the people (among other things). In fact, while the Paris Uprising was primarily undertaken by a popular front, most of the groups involved were by no means what we would consider leftist.

      This is not leftist music. For instance the März revolution: Nowadays the participants would be considered far right by lefties. So don’t even dare to claim this beautiful music for you disgusting spectrum.
