As a programmer, This laptop is going to do all the tasks smoothly. I wanted to buy Nitro 5 Ryzen 4600h but it gives very low battery backup, bulkier in size and high temperature. But In Similar to Nitro 5 , Aspire 5 also has RAM(3200mhz) and SSD(m.2 and Sata) upgradability, good screen. Other than that, It has similar multiple core performance, portability, best battery life, ports selection is good, wifi 6, almost no fan noise, almost no high temperature. In my daily uses of program like multiple chorme tabs, Android studio multiple projects open, Spotify in the background , it will works fine. I know nitro 5 is best for budget gaming section. And it does great work there. But for Programming , business, education and daily uses I would prefer Aspire 5 Ryzen 7 5700u. Also NOT i7 11gen too.
I got this laptop with ryzen 5 4500u when u reviewed that a while back. It's been ok. When it first came, I had some issue with it randomly powering off for no reason. That seems to have gone away. The trackpad became unusable also for a period of 3 weeks but that also seemed to fix itself. Other than that, no complaints
Techno Panda is one of the few tech reviewers that emphasize dual-channel ram. I can't tell you how many reviewers fail to point out whether a ryzen Apu laptop is running in dual channel or not.
Thank You! The video on Amazon is the only way I knew this particular version would let you upgrade the RAM with sticks and that the RAM isn't soldered in. Edit: actually this laptop only has one memory slot. It comes with 8GB and it must be soldered on somewhere. I tried adding a 16GB stick and it wouldn't boot. Of course the RAM sticks I had was in a computer I beat the crap out of, so the RAM might be damaged.

I returned to school after using ThinkPads in accounting and figured I would need to upgrade from my POS HP with a Pentium from 2016 if I had to do any data analytics or whatnot. This thing is sleek. Very happy with my purchase and nearly returned but after reviewing this I am comfortably happy with my choice...

I literally bought this today. The fan turned on after 10 minutes and it grew warm in 15 minutes. Noticeable temp difference from the left to the right side while the fan was running. I was only running a web browser. Is this normal?

@@brawlphysics Its best to keep them the same capacity on each, because the laptop will use 8gb from the existing 16gb of the second module and use it in dual channel mode in tandem with the already existing ram. So getting a 16gb stick while there is an 8gb stick there is rather pointless, because only 8gb of that 16gb stick will be used.

Its should be fine. But a lot depends on what title you plan to play. Also note that this laptop doesn't have discrete GPU, so heavy AAA titles wont play smoothly
3200. To be absolutely sure, please check RAM details by installing something like CPU-Z. And before buying RAM, open up the laptop and check how many DIMM slots are in your laptop. Acer sells models with either 1 or 2 DIMM slots. Only the one with 2 DIMM slot will accept 32 GB RAM

@@hekermen6969 If you want to future proof your purchase I'd ensure it was possible to expand larger than 16gb but I currently have no issues with 12gb creating android apps (both laptop and desktop). Android Studio recommends 8gb+ :)
3200MHz. It only has one slot though, I think the 8GB it comes with is soldered on the board somewhere. The only reason I know it's 3200MHz is CPU ID software.

I got this laptop with ryzen 5 4500u when u reviewed that a while back. It's been ok. When it first came, I had some issue with it randomly powering off for no reason. That seems to have gone away. I have one of these with 32 gigs ram and 1.5 terrabytes of ssd's. just bought it, with upgrades it was under $700.
Techno Panda is one of the few tech reviewers that emphasize dual-channel ram. I can't tell you how many reviewers fail to point out whether a ryzen Apu laptop is running in dual channel or not.
I would have loved if you had opened up the bottom of the laptop and showed us the upgrade configuration. That should be standard operating procedure.

in the specs says it supports max memory 24GB. Can i add a 16 gb ddr4 to the fabric 8 G. Does the motherboard support it?

acer aspire 7 will give you better battery life, but for gaming I would go with Asus Tuf A15 ryzen 7 4800

Did your laptop come with extra screws and a harness for installing a 2.5 in SSD? If yes, then buy any 2.5 inch SSD. It will work with this laptop.
