Lol I am coming from your ssd comparison video from a year ago. You kept your word and have been uploading daily :D I think you need to make videos about more popular topics. Save yourself the trouble and upload like twice weekly and more condensed videos. Maybe similar to Dave2d
Great video! Thanks for the content Which one should I get, Swift 3 SF314-511-55J1 i5-1135G7 11th Gen 8GB RAM 512GB SSD or Aspire 5 A515-45-R8W2 Ryzen 7 5700U 8GB RAM (upgradable) 512GB SSD? Since the Swift is on sale at the store, it is about 50usd cheaper than the Aspire. I’ll be using the laptop mostly for computer science, engineering software and project management. Thanks for the help.
i have an acer aspire with ryzen 7 and 32 gigs of ram and 1.5 gigs of ssd HD and it flies. under $700 with upgrades.15.5 full 1080 HD display. can't beat it.
Two weeks in on my new 2024 Swift 3 14" OLED i5-12500H 8/512GB Win11 Home. So excited to finally have a new LT after using my wife's second hand bricks. Retired and now only need to surf the web, do home Office productivity stuff and watch vids/movies; although it has the specs to do much more. No gaming or creator vid/music editing needed. After lots of research, just kept coming back to the Acer brand, and this Swift 3 OLED model. As the Swift 3 is getting phased out for the Swift Go series, I was able to snag this beauty on Acer's site on sale for only $500 (vs. $950+). Battery life only rated at 8 hrs, but that's better than any LT I've even had. Great review even though it's dated.
if this comment is older than 2 weeks don't bother replying i'm torn between the aspire 5 ryzen 5 5500u and this Swift 3...both are 700$CAD as of now on amazon...which one would you reccomend? it's main use will be for light gaming ( we have 400w+ desktops at home but would like a portable efficient pc for lighter tasks ) edit : actually nevermind...i just checked and the Swift 3 cannot be upgraded ( ram and storage )
@@RunningToast529 idk if i was shipped the wrong laptop but the one i got ( exact same specs ) has backlit keyboard, an ethernet port and the ram in it was 1 soldered stick of 8gb instead of 1 soldered of 4gb and an added stick of 4gb for a total of 8gb.....i'm much happier with those added bonuses than what was expected since i bought a 2nd 8gb stick of ram ( same specs ) and can run video games in 16gb dual channel ( helps a ton on amd igpu's to render games ) also i bought a 512gb SATA SSD because 250gb isn't enough for games and let me tell you...the cable to connect the storage to the motherboard is very flimsy other than that, the laptop has been enough for any task i threw at it ( as it should since it got 6 cores 12 threads, 16gb dual channel ram and running on SSD's
@@dovahkingqcclips6913 Ok thank you, sorry for all the questions im just curious but I have another for the display though, so many people say it is very washed out and not colorful at all. Would you say it looks good? Also is the battery good on it?
The 5700U is an awesome APU-my laptop is from HP and not Acer though.
It really is!
Thanks for the detailed review, im considering the 16gb RAM version would you recommend it for university & casual video editing?
Yeah! You'd appreciate the extra ram for video editing!
Im hoping to see the thermal while gaming actually
Thanks for the feedback!

The keyboard back light was literally uneven, dimmed on some buttons. and you said it's bright?
Sounds like something's wrong with yours?? Mine is bright and looks great
@@DigitalDavid maybe it was due to camera capturing it in your video obviously its different with human eyes as cameras may capture light differently

hahaha I did indeed keep my word! And that's actually very helpful feedback! Thanks man!

You want like without opening the cover to show us the Ram slots and SSD?! 🤔
Now that my air MacBook is 800 USD, would you recommend getting it over the Acer?
M1 chip? What's the air specs?
Cpu z score is low probably because it wasn't plugged in
What are you seeing score wise with this laptop?!
Is the 8gb of ram enough for small gaming with music in the background?
Yes! I wouldn't go less imo!
Can this laptop play Rome total war 2 well?
I'm not sure I've never played that game! I bet depending on your settings it should at least be playable!
Just wanna ask how's the sRGB on this variant? Is it the same with the R5 variant?
Would be nice if you replace the "web browsing" part with a discussion of the display of the laptops instead.
100%
I'll take that into consideration! Thanks for the suggestion!

Sucks about the views.
What views? 😂

I'm sure all of them would be fine! Doesn't sound like you need anything too high-end for that work

Yeah you really can't!
Can it be working fine for video editing and same multitasking at the same time
Would this laptop be good for photo editing. Would I need more memory for large picture files?
I used to edit photos on a laptop with the same amount memory, and it worked great for it!

Dark keyboard will be perfect....
You think so? I could go either way! haha

I found one of these for $635 rn and I want to know if it has a good battery life because I want to use this for college
Yes! It has good battery life!
What u think of the size is 14" big enough? For browsing watching movies typing for work etc.
Yeah you'd be fine with 14"! If for some reason you wanted a larger screen you could pickup a very affordable Sceptre monitor for under $90!
Hi if I’m typing at night does the keyboard light ?
Yes! -MB
Excellent thorough video on this laptop! really awesome machine!
Glad you liked it!
