BO3 is actually the most dangerous cod to play online, it’s the only cod where hackers can legit take over your entire PC. It’s happened to multiple streamers
That’s why I play alone or with friends. It’s really sad that Treyarch didn’t fix that.

Feels funny for the cod last 4 years that MW19 has the best fidelity despite on lower settings, I still like the graphics and directions for the other ones but just saying how it felt like to me
Interestingly, MW2019 had better graphical technology under-the-hood when it came to character rendering and animation interpolation.
For MWII, a lot of subtle skin, clothing and hair rendering systems were dumbed down, probably to make the game easier to run and more scalable for more systems.
It’s a shame because MW2019 looks brilliant. I wish it’s tone, art style and aesthetic was kept/

Infinite Warfare zombies and so far the campaign too at ultra preset. I've only gotten drops at some giant explosions. But zombies in spaceland runs great on ultra.
Black ops 3 can push more fps on the steam deck, you’re getting unstable frame rate because of a bug that makes it so performance dips while connected to the internet. If you turn off WiFi on the steam deck and set the in game framerate limit to 62ish fps you’ll be able to play it on high with absolutely no dips
i second this. a somewhat recent steam update made it to where it CONSTANTLY checks for dlc on BO3, which ruins performance, but having it offline makes it run like absolute butter. wonder if the t7 patch works.

every game on the SD has community controller profiles for the steam deck. Just press the left steam button and go to controller then community. There are also good presets for games that dont support controller. Most games I play I change the controller config right away it only takes a couple seconds and the community does great at making the profiles.

You had Image Quality on High in Modern Warfare 3 (2011). If you turn it up to Native it will render at native resolution. Anything below will just upscale it.
think you've missed something, for cod5, cod4 and original mw2, i've got joysticks working to look around and it didn't take too long to get used to joystick for most of the game, trackpad for finer aiming where needed

WAW has a controller mode. It's enabled by console commands IIRC
If you want to play custom maps or play multiplayer without trouble install boiii on your steam deck and it should fix any stuttering and hackers

i tested only cod mw1 campaing remastered(Ultra settings 60fps) idk about multiplayer. but if you want play to multiplayer you need to install windows

I wish i didnt have to install windows though. VALVe should really push to get COD working natively on deck, especially considering Nintendo are getting it next round with Switch 2
cod working on steamdeck isnt a thing valve can push. the anti cheat is kernel level for the game. and even then why would they it would at max only cover 8% of total player base. as well as the game would run at a max of like 40fps and with every cod title proving to run shitter then the last they would have to do a steam deck 2.0 or something to make it run better. also ricochet anti cheat doesn't work. why would valve want to advertise a game that will be a buggy and riddled with hacks and again performance lacking even on higher end hardware.
It's very simple, if you need longer battery with tips and tricks stay on SD (true portable device), if you're having busy life then get a asus rog ally but still you get to update things like windows, games, armory crate & bios 😂
Is it recommended to restart our system after playing these games offline before going online. Only asking because I don’t know if these games have background tasks that run when they are closed.
a good chunk of these games don't even work offline, and for the older games its best to avoid the online lobbies since most of these games have really poor security
and as far as i know you dont need to do a full restart to switch from offline to online
The problem with Bo1 for me like other PC systems I've been on is getting controllers to work even with Steam settings configured, game just refuses to work with it even the Steamdeck. Just Bo1 and not any other game, it's weird.
Based on leaked Nvidia and shipping data, the Switch 2 in handheld is looking like it will be around equal to the Steam Deck.
This video shows pretty much _exactly_ how Call of Duty will play on Nintendo's next console... and that's just in handheld mode! Docked mode will look even nicer!

@@Javs_Tech there's a way to show how much it really consumes of battery, but I don't know how exactly, it would be interesting to see how much we could use it for f ex flights...
In my ROG Ally, I could use silent mode gaming (10W) and it consumes around 15.9W, so I expect the Steam Deck to consume less than those 6W extra, maybe 9W total(?
So, which one among these runs on the steam os with multiplayer and players are there to play with . I really want a nice call of duty multiplayer on my deck and not comfortable putting windows on my deck .
without windows your options are pretty limited since the newer games all need windows to work
and the older games are mostly hacked / exploited, but luckily they all have their own third party clients made by the community, and those offer dedicated servers / a hacker free experience
look up cod plutonium for that
if you want an out of the box experience then i would choose cod ghosts since it mixes in bots as well as people to get games going

256gb and gave it all to windows, games run off an external ssd
but you can get away with playing them on the sd as well

@@Ben-io2vo the anti cheat from mw19 and up is kernel level , its not possible to run. and they cant do a compatibility layer as every distro is diffrenet. the anti cheat would have to me lower level like how the older cods bo4 and below are. but doing so would make dma cards undetectable making it ban proof if they can hide it visually.

to me the steam deck has a similar feel to a playstation controller
The sticks have a bit of resistance to them
while the rog ally has basically the same sticks as an xbox controller
but both are full size joysticks, so nothing like the switch joycons

You can lower the tdp to maximise battery life
But in most cases this will also lower fps

its a mix between a gaming pc and a switch
it can be more complicated than a switch but you get more freedom to do whatever you want and games are infinitely cheaper and online is free

yeah you can play online zombies on windows & steam os depending on the game.
for the older games you use your steam account and newer ones use your activision ID (used for cross progression between consoles / pc)
Cold war for example should transfer your xbox account over if thats what you played it on
Windows is an operating system, and so is steam os(a form of Linux customized by valve for gaming) they are both pc operating systems, and the steam deck is technically a pc. It just has a really good controller integrated with it, and steam os works well with said controller.
Xbox technically runs on a really stripped down/closed off version of windows that doesn't let you have as much control.
Some of these games don't work on Steam OS(Linux) because the anti cheat is incompatible, so sometimes people will install windows on the steamdeck, or in this case, he has a separate drive he boots from to play the games that need windows.

Mannn i downloaded cow mw3 on win 11 on mine and it ran slower than hamster shit. Like i dunno how you got 70fps when mine looked less than 8fps
did you let it install the shaders? it takes a quite a while (around 20 mins)

i know this is from 7 months ago, but i gotta clarify what you meant is modded not hacked, hacking refers to as stealing and causing damages to internal servers at a company, modding is where you just drag and drop files into the games directory and then inject dlls into the game this is also known as scripting,
as an ex hacker and someone who has modded video games on xbox 360 and ps3 its not the samething,
go talk to actual hackers they will confirm its not the correct term for modifying game files to script with.

anyways mw2 is the most dangerous game so is bo2 and bo3 any game with a matchmaking system in place on pc is dangerous.

WW2 I-2 or lobbies at most
Infinite Warfare - Fully dead
BO4 - fully dead (for me at least)
Black ops 2 is very active but you gotta get plutonium
BO3 isnt safe to play but you can probs find lobbies
