Got the 2024 G14 4070 32GB about 3 weeks ago and I can honestly say it's the best laptop I've tried and owned. The display is better than my TV, it's lightning fast no matter what you do, and the speakers are incredible. Never owned an ASUS product before but seemed wise to get my hands on this powerful machine
I have the (2022)rx6700s model since last year and it’s a great computer also the experience got better after a ram, WiFi card upgrade and downloading Ghelper. Hence ditching Armory crate. As an engineering student it has done everything I needed.
I purchased a 2023 after waiting for a long time to upgrade an ancient laptop. Much like the pre-2024 design and with 48 GB RAM and 4060 it's the ideal solution for me. One observation -- Best Buy has been selling 2023 units labeled as new but which actually have paint faults -- a small dot of missing paint along the front edge. These have been seen elsewhere.
Wish a 48 / 64GB RAM option was possible with the 2024. Probably future G14 models will all be soldered if that's the path they chose. What can you do. The thin, light and sturdy aluminum is important when you're on the go. And 14" is for people on the go
if you're willing to go used or wait for deals, you can easily get the 6700s model for around $700, which is a pretty insane deal (I've seen some go as low as $500!). 2021 models are also easily available around $500 used. Don't get anything under a 2023 model brand new tbh. Just not worth it by any means, but if you're willing to go used you can find some absolute gems.
I'm still rocking the super rare, fully maxed out, Dark colored (Space grey, I think it's called), 2021 Version. 32GB RAM (16GB soldered), so it's up-gradable to 48GB... Best thing I ever did to it just recently (And I cannot believe I waited this long to do) is completely delete the Armory Crate software and installed GHelper. My goodness, THE DIFFERENCE is astonishing. It feels like a completely new PC.
Hello, is the G14 2024 worth it before the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 14 with 32 ram is worth the difference 500$ normal use some games watch movies browse thank you so much
Beginning of 2021, I purchased my first new Laptop. I almost chose the Zephyrus, but went with the Legion 5 (built Dec 2020) with a 4800H & RTX-2060. (I got a deal, as it was right before the release of the next model, that used a 5xxx CPU, and a 3xxx Nvidia Video Card.) I was very nervous over the purchase, as it was an alternative to me replacing my GTX780ti, on my older PC (during the Video Card Crises). I couldn't have been happier, although if I had it to do again, I wouldn't have been so paranoid, and would have passed on the $300 extra insurance/warranty.
Very nice, super detailed comparison! It's been cool to have been following the G14 since it came out, it's always been great, but this 2024 redesign could not have come at a time for me personally - I've been loving mine with its camera, amazing speakers, OLED screen, and thin + light aluminum body!
I took the 2024 rtx4060 model and it's just super! Two things, the slash on top gathers dust and gets scratched easily, the fans are noisy and mine has sometimes a high pitch coil wine, nevertheless i really enjoy the laptop! Is there anyway i could adjust the color? I'm not used to such vibrant OLED colors 😅
Not sure, but pretty sure this was a thing in my intel graphics, but the Nvidia Graphics Driver software must have an option of a grayscale bar that you can use to mute the colours.
I’m already own 13900k and 4090 as my main workstation. But I’m looking portable for travelling purpose. Which one do you recommend ASUS zephyrus or legion 7i with 4070 configuration.. I don’t care about batteries life over performance.
For portability I would recommend either the Asus Zephyrus 14 (2024), Legion Slim 5 (14.5" screen), and HP Omen Transcend 14. I would also recommend 4060 configuration since the difference in performance is negligible with the 4070 variation.
@@Febreube1I want to learn game dev and I am looking for a laptop which one should I buy rtx 4060 ver or rtx 4070 ? And how much real world difference do they have ?
My 2020 G14 was such a groundbreaking device at the time. It's crazy how it still kinda stacks up to that 2024 model. Definitely seems like the right time for an upgrade though. I would love to see what an Asus laptop would look like with one of those Snapdragon Elite X chips and a real graphics card.
Hi, need your opinion, i'm debating between this model or rog flow x13, i like small laptops and i usually use it for gaming and programming, which one would you recommend? Thank you👉🏻👈🏻
I found one G14 which has 4050 with 16gb ram and amd 7 series for $1000. I was wondering would I get that and maybe put a 16gb ram later. The thing about 2024 models is the non upgradable of the device. Can you advise please?
kinda surprised the 6700s does so well in 3d modeling and even in video editing, common stigma is that nvidia outperforms amd in workstation applications, but i guess not in this case.
Cannot decide buying the 2024 Zephyrus G14 32 GB or the 2024 Omen Transcend with 32 GB with max specs (intel core i9) Love how the omen looks but curious!
I'd say go with the zephyrus, the only thing that the omen has over the zephyrus is the slightly better keyboard. The speakers on the omen are way worse, thermals are better but ONLY because of the INSANE fan noise, it's bulkier, the omen software is FILLED with bloatware and uses too many resources in the background, and the zephyrus has a 10-bit display vs the 8-bit on the omen. Definitely the zephyrus.
i have a 2023 g14 and found the screen bezel has started warping/detaching from the assembly.. ive heard it happening to other people but it had never happened to me until today ..
I had the 2022. The performance didn't really match up with i expected based on the reviews... Gaming was just ok, (at most 1hr on battery, when plugged in the performance felt average, not wow), battery life is average in normal use (60hz refresh rate etc...), would occasionally shut down for unknown reasons (probably overheating), and couldn't get used to the keyboard for some reason ... Was hoping it would replace the bulky Strix g15 to be able to play some game while traveling. Looking forward to the upcoming APUs...
If you want an older 2022 g14, they are way cheaper used on ebay. Please don't buy a new one when used ones in really great condition are several hundred dollars cheaper there. I had the first gen sold it back in 2021 and now I have lenovo legion 7i which im very satisfied with, other than poor battery life which i dont mind since it just chills on the desk all day haha

You need to update the geekbench score as the 2022 model in the newer version scores around 2000 in the single core

You could find a 2022 for that price. I got mine for around that price in May last year
my biggest deal is really the ram. I want a 4060 model but only having 16gb ram soldered on the 2024 model is a dealbreaker. :/
