I fully understand why Early Access is such a good concept for Indie developers to finance their game. But I have to say I'm getting a little burnt out with all the cozy Early Access games who stop in the middle of the game. Have been playing Travellers Rest, Echoes of the Plum Grove, Fields of Mistria, and I always get so excited about them but have to stop in the middle of my obsession because it is just not finished. One big offender has to be Coral Island though. I couldn't believe the audacity of them releasing an unfinished game with so many missing crucial features as "full release". I was so invested in my playthrough and was abruptly put off when coming across weird bugs and just flat out missing animations and features and then seeing that this game was supposed to be "full release".
I completely relate to this, way too many games are coming out in early access and then taking years to be fully released. It's kind of crazy how it's become the standard for both AAA companies and indie studios to take people's money before even having a fully fledged product?!
Agreed. Field of Mistria was great but now we are waiting a long time to get new content and the game to be finished. Though I am happy to support them. I just have a hard time going back to the games once 1.0 is finally released. So many new games will come out since and they just sit in my backlog. Happy to say Mirthwood on this list is Full Release so I am excited for that the most.
I mean early access means it’s not done so that’s on you for that. They literally tell you the game is going to be missing stuff. You’re just ruining it yourself by getting burnt out because you can’t progress any. I never went and bought coral island for the same reason there’s no need to not have waited and seen peoples reviews 2 seconds later and seen oh yeah it’s not done I’m good and I’ll wait.
Thank you for introducing us to all the new cozy releases for next month. I'm most excited about Chef RPG. I hope you'll do a LP series of that game, Josh!
I'm looking forward to Chef RPG the most! At first, I wasn't sure if I would like it because it seemed more of a restaurant type of game but since there's farming elements such as crops and marriage, I'll get it! Garden Witch Life looks super cute but there's something that throws me off of the graphics, I'll be waiting for reviews on that and I'm really curious of how it'll do on Switch as it does have a phys copy to buy. Ninano Dream Ranch is the one that I'm also interested it, I always tend to focus on animals in farming games if there's a breeding/rarity system otherwise I just kinda ignore it haha but this one looks fun. Also has a marriage system too which is a bit surprising to me but that increases my excitement! Reminds me of Super Zoo Story that we're still waiting for KS of haha Thanks for the video!
I'm definitely worried about the Switch version of Garden Witch Life, I'll probably try it on Steam. 😅 I wonder when we'll get to play Super Zoo Story! I was hesitant at first since the art looked so similar to SDV, but it looks more unique now.
@@JoshGamingGarden The demo will come back on release. I am a beta tester and yes lots of improvements and the devs are hard at work still. There is no grid still but there are lots of decor options to organize the main farm area and outside of the main area it can be left to grow wild and plant herbs and flowers around. There is a true to life gardening background (soil health, water needs etc). It is not made complicated but it is there. The game also emphasizes rest and mental health which is really cool.
I'm pretty sure the Cozy Keep devs are using Synty assests and even though the Synty assests are absolutely beautiful and well made, I wish we would see more games with their own unique style or I wish they would at least change up the colors of the assets at least, most of the time they just take the assets and throw them into the game without any creative differences.
thank you as always, josh! i had a few of these on my wishlist already, but this was my first time hearing about a lot of these games. september is gonna be incredible :)
in terms of games i might play myself then i'm most excited for Critter Cove, Chef RPG and Mirthwood! however i'll be so excited to watch content on Shinehill and Bloomtown, and the games i might play myself of course, exciting month for gamers
Definitely Chef RPG. Also Bloomtown and Plucky Squire. I tried the demo for Bloomtown. It was fun but I never finished it. But I do remember really liking it.
The story for Shinehill sounds like a really interesting twist on the genre. Since I only play Nintendo consoles, Caravan SandWitch and Bloomtown both look the most appealing to me. Hope we can get your thoughts on those!
Wow there's so many I want in this month- wth 😭 but yeah mine are Critter Cove, Chef RPG, Ninano Dream Ranch and Bloomtien (alao plan on checking out Tiny Glade too!)
I'm most excited for Mirthwood and Chef Rpg, I've been following these for a while and the ones I'm confident will be worth the money in early access so I'm only getting those so far, I'll try out the other games when they're fully released. Edit: I'll also be getting BloomTown, I absolutely adore the story that's happening in the game, so creepy but I love it nonetheless.
I’ll get Chef Rpg, Ninano, Planet IX, and Bloomtown! I hope you’ll cover more of Shine Hill since I’m on the fence about it. Thank you for your videos, I keep discovering new games to put on my wishlist!
Josh I just noticed you hit over 50K followers! I remember watching you from the beginning and you had less than 100 in your live streams! I think it was your harvest moon videos and animal crossing videos that got me into watching your vids 😊 just wanted to say well done and you should be proud how far you have come ❤
Some of my most anticipated games are releasing this month. I've been looking forward to Mirthwood, Chef RPG, and Tiny Glade for a while now. And I played the Critter Cove demo and loved it. Bloomtown also looks pretty cool, but I'm still trying to figure out which one to play first. September gaming really wants to take up all my time.
Critter Cove looks amazing but I might wait for the full release. I'd never heard of Bloomtown, but it's now definitely on my list! Unfortunately, I've started a new playthrough of FE:3H, so I'm not sure I'll be playing anything else at all this month 😅😅 but I'll be keeping an eye out for all of these!
A bunch of these I look forward to seeing, though I know there's a game that I thought should be coming out soon: Sugardew Island.. kinda wondering what happened with it
There is this game I found on social media that is a farming horror game called Grave Seasons, not much well known about release but it looks perfect for spooky vibes in the fall.
Seeing Chef RPG made me reinstall Epic Chef again as I reminded me about that game and didn't finish as I didn't reinstall it after switching machines. As for the games I look forward playing from this list it is so far Critter Cove, Cozy Keep and Garden Witch Life.
I have about half of these on my wish list. The three I'm most looking forward to are Critter Cove, Caravan Sandwitch, and Mirthwood - in that order. I didn't realize Sept had so many titles releasing.
The Plucky Squire and Bloomtown A Different Story look the most interesting to me, though I am curious about Chef RPG. Though of all three, I am most excited to get my hands on The Plucky Squire, as I really love A Link Between Worlds and this game not only reminds me of it, too, but it just looks so cute and the swapping of art styles from 3D to 2D is just... So nice and refreshing~! XD Kinda sick of 8-bit looking games, but that is just me.
Chef RPG and Mirthwood are sure things for me. I like the idea of Shinehill and I'll consider it for sure. I've already got too much of a backlog, cause all these Early Access games are things I won't play until they are finished. 😅 My pocketbook is gonna cry. I think cozy games tend to drop in cozy months like the fall and holiday alot. But, I'm kinda hyped to see what happens.
I agree with your top 3. I'm finally getting into roots of pacha so may wait for a sale since my backlog is ridiculous on switch and xbox one/gamepass.
In September I'm interested in Garden Witch Life and Bloomtown! (Also Ace Attorney Investigations, this one is cozy for me too.) But I don't think I'll buy them all on release.
Yeah, if I were to pick a month that tends to be super busy for Cozy games (especially farm sims), it would be this month since Fall is right around the corner lol. Hey Josh, quick question do you know if your Farmer is customizable in Shinehill? Chef RPG is on my radar, but that whole Restaurant management part is the only thing I am concerned about. I am horrible at multitasking (it's why I don't like management games), but if the gameplay is easy to learn, I can manage because there have been exceptions in the past (but it's rare). That Caravan game is the only other one I am interested in, but other games take priority so it'll most likely get put on my already long list of backlogs lol.
As I'm not a fan of pixel art games, tried so many times, does not "click", Critter cove is the one I'm the most curious about (but I'll wait for your review!)
Man most cozy games are starting to feel far too similar to each other. And early access games are far too prevalent today. I’m starting to hate them. Just release the game when it is done. 🙈
I hardly ever support game in early access unless I’m very interested in the game. I feel like yeah it’s cheaper and the developers probably need the money to finish it but it’s just happening too often. I got 2 recently, one sucked and the game felt rushed and poorly done. and the second, fields of mistria, was amazing.
I love Fields of Mistria. But I really want to enjoy it fully so I set it aside to wait for a few big updates. There is only one festival, I hope additional are added sooner rather than later. Great Game tho. Which one was not so good for you?
Chef RPG and Mirthwood are the ones I'm most looking forward to. It's going to be a busy September!

Now that Fantasy Life i has been delayed, I really am not sure what I'm gonna be playing.
same, was waiting for Fantasy Life but Bloomtown looks pretty interesting
Sugardew island looks fun but idk the release date...
Me too :( Core Keeper is coming to switch next month though, I'm hoping that will help fill the void for me.
@@mewichigo3410I really like return from the core.
@@chaosunicorn82 i haven't. I'll check it out.

Chef RPG is finally coming out??? And so close to Fields of Mistria?? How is my wallet meant to deal with that 😭
Those NPCs glitching into shadowy voids is so creepy in Bloomtown
Mirthwood and Bloomtown is so interesting to me! Definitely would see those ones first
